This man is a beast on that bass, as a sound engineer, I probably would be just focused on this channel mix for a bit before realizing, “oh yes, the other musicians!” LoL
And there it is - the compulsory 'underrated' comment! Who was multi-millionaire, world famous bass player Mark King underrated by? His Mum?! You're right though, he is a brilliant bass player - and it's even more impressive when you consider he started out as a drummer and decided to learn bass for the band. That he picked it up - and excelled - at guitar so fast shows what an incredible musician he is.
He's highly rated by those who HEAR him, but Level 42 doesn't get the airplay it deserves in the US. I'm pretty sure that's what's meant. I only knew this song til very recently. Thanks, US radio. 🙄
Extremely tight groove, vocal lines, huge sound. High Background vocals.... Mood creation: it goes from a get up and dance kind of verse to a soaring chorus thanks to super high vocals.
I don't think this song can be fully appreciated until you watch them perform it. It's got an intricacy that doesn't exist in today's studio pop and manufactured music.
Loved this group since i was a shorty coming up in life. Music was everything......well,good music!!! Dont know where they are today,but i sure hope they are still thrilling thier audiences, well done job guys! Forever a big fan!!!!!!

I love in the very beginning of the song, how Mark asks “are you ok?” And I always say to myself, I’m like No, I am missing that beautiful woman, with a unique personality, that I always think about, that loves to Honk the Horn at me, every time she drives past me. This song helps me make it through the days, because she’s always on my mind. 😊
