Excellent example of poor track conditions during that time of the event. Too much traction can be a bad thing, it resulted in them gaining a lot of speed, then bounce, and eventually lose their line/control. Classic hard breaking, bumped by the sled, and; between thier momentum and being bumped shot them forward snapping the chain. Also, It looked to me like the 1st tractor had a weak frame that allowed the torque to twist it that badly. That owner should've addressed that way before any event.
I say poor track conditions because how many times have you ever seen the hook break like that twice during the same event. Anyone that's pulled or knows about the track can tell you the track changes throughout the day. This looked like it changed from 60' of a good track mix to solid dry clay. They both went from an ideal 6"-1' front up to 2-3' up and +20mph within the same 30' of track. To much traction building to much speed to quickly for a minimod driver to control...obviously.
