Because of when it happened people tend to forget about it or underrate it Had it happened during the Biker Era or later, it would have been more memorable
It's a shame that the WWF didn't cancel the rest of Over the Edge 1999 immediately after Owen died. The Undertaker won the WWF Championship the same night in the same arena Owen Hart died and the same night Owen Hart died on. Because they didn't end the show and the WWF title changed hands, it's going to be hard to try & forget about Over the Edge 1999 when the WWF title changed hands.
This version of the Undertaker scared the ever loving crud out of me as a kid. As a adult, I applaud it for doing what it was supposed to do, scare people to death. But that’s just my two cents. Great job as always, James!
When it comes to this era of The UnderTaker's career, James, my thoughts on it are... A] To me, the single darkest point of the whole Attitude Era, and Monday Night War by extension, in terms of the normal creative process WWE employed then, was that match between Austin and Taker for the WWF Title with the First Blood rules. It showed that Vince had completely descended into darkness, and that night was his come-uppance for the period that began when Bret started challenging him at the announce table in 1997. B] But with that said, I think that Taker's Minister of Darkness character had grown to be far too dark after the real-world death of Owen Hart on May 23, 1999. When something as dark as night happens in reality in WWE, it overshadows a ton of things, including Taker's title win over Austin. It's why the 3rd reign as WWF Champion for him doesn't get discussed much, as the lone topic of chatter from that night was Owen's fatal fall. And yeah, James, I do think that the Ministry Era of Taker's career could've been better than it was, but as I mentioned above, it probably wasn't meant to be. Maybe it was the fact that WWE was willing to tempt the fates, and have Taker embrace the core of what he was, that caused things around the company to de-evolve into what they were, and that it took his injuries to help set things as balanced as they could again. Who knows? o.o
To A. Fully Loaded 1999 should have been the end of the Mr. McMahon character; at the very least for longer than 2 months. To B. We all know what should have been done the night of Over The Edge; but because the show did continue, they should have called an audible and have Austin retain & do the title change at another date.
@@WeAreProWrestling if the whole Undertaker 3rd title win could be rebooked, Undertaker loses to Austin at Over the Edge 99 in order to make the fans happy after Owen Hart’s untimely death. The next night, the two have a rematch and Undertaker wins due to McMahon shenanigans (Vince would turn heel on his own accord, not acting as the Higher Power and Stone Cold isn’t the CEO). The KOTR 99 WWE title match between Undertaker and The Rock will be moved on Raw and Austin interferes, making the supposed KOTR 99 WWE title match a three way match where Stone Cold fails to win due to Mr McMahon’s interference Undertaker will not lose the WWE title the next night on Raw and he will feud with Stone Cold until Fully Loaded where he will lose the title in a First Blood match where the stipulations are in place: if Austin loses, his career is over while Mr McMahon must leave the WWE if Undertaker loses. Stone Cold wins and Mr McMahon leaves for good (let Vinnie Mac rest and rejuvenate his character) and there’ll be no special clause stating that Austin has the power to reinstate Vinnie Mac
The Undertaker wrestled Big Boss Man at WrestleMania XV in a crappy Hell in a Cell match which had no excitement or substance like the Bad Blood 97 and King of the Ring 98 Hell in a Cell matches. And of course, WrestleMania XV would be the last time a Hell in a Cell match is used until WrestleMania 28
He had some memorable matches; but yeah, they were mostly forgettable But we remember Ministry Undertaker not for his matches, but for his character work
This was the last time I actually care about the Underataker's Character. I still respect the man, but, the character was "Meh" . But this is just MY OPINION.
Hot take here but every higher power theory/idea is terrible. They all either make no sense or are just underwhelming. They never should've even had the whole higher power plot point to begin with. Undertaker should've just been the leader if the Ministry the whole time. Merging with the Corporation to become the Corporate Ministry was fine the the higher power should've been cut

Undertaker attempted to marry Stephanie McMahon but Stone Cold saved her and prevented the Lord of Darkness from marrying the future Mrs Helmsley
Finally, I'm not the only one who finds the Shamrock/Undertaker match at Backlash to be underrated.
Because of when it happened people tend to forget about it or underrate it
Had it happened during the Biker Era or later, it would have been more memorable
Ministry undertaker is my favorite in the wwe
Something about Ministry Taker was just unsettling. It definitely struck a chord.
Undertaker basically became Satan who became a wrestler

Thanks
And if you're gonna have Undertaker be that evil & satanic, go all the way with it; and that's what they did
Chris Jericho interrupted Big Show and Undertaker’s promo and called The Undertaker boring. Such a promo got Y2J in deep trouble

@@RaginRonic Early June would have worked; everything still would have gone in line for the title change the night after King of the Ring

The Rock does not really click with Wrestlers who are Bigger then him in the ring(Undertaker, Kane, Big Show, Kevin Nash etc.)
You’re doing a good job with these. Can’t wait for the next episode
Thanks; been enjoying making these
What a weird period of time this was.

The Ministry Undertaker might be the scariest version of the character, but the matches he had were pretty forgettable.

During undertaker's entire 1999, which match of his would you consider to be the best that he had?

I still think the higher power should've been Jake the snake or the two rumored people to be the higher power the jackyl or christopher Daniels.
Jake in a perfect state of mind would have been an excellent Higher Power(if booked correctly)
@@WeAreProWrestling If Pillman had lived, he would have been an awesome choice also.
I loved that ministry of darkness attacked on the corporation but that higher power and corporate ministry sucked
Besides it being bad, The Higher Power reveal happened on my birthday; so 2 reasons to remember it
Merging with the corporation was a bad decision imo.
@@theghostshadow8855 Both factions separate were good factions; together it was a mess

But it did birth an Awesome theme (in fact two of them)
Jake Roberts should've been the Hower Power.
If he was in the right state of mind, he would have been perfect
@@WeAreProWrestling But, in retrospect, we wouldn't have gotten Vince in the role.
@@richardgadberry8398 we wouldn’t get the infamous “It was me, Austin! It was me all along!” segment
