I hear that, whenever possible, they avoid the stage and play right on the crowd's level, which was what happened when I saw them a few years ago here in London. I went with a friend, and we knew it was going to get rowdy so we initially thought to just stand near the back. Once I saw shit go down, I told my friend "fuck this man, I can't miss this" and immediately pushed my way right to the front to be standing literally inches from Chippendale's drumset. To say it was loud is an understatement - the music, the energy from everyone in my vicinity going ape shit, was deafening in the most glorious way. Everyone that was at the front of the crowd essentially worked like a barrier, so we were headbanging like assholes while simultaneously keeping the mob from collapsing all over Brian and Brian. At some everyone at the front put our arms around each other just to ground ourselves, cause it was that fucking insane. After every sonic assault there would be a few moments to get our bearings, before the whole place exploded again. There were times I legitimately felt like I was close to passing out, and yet I was persisting entirely on adrenaline. Nearer the end of the set, the whole front of the crowd just had their arms around each other like in this video, using all their energy to just stay in place, not even going crazy anymore, honestly I can only describe it as being in a kind of exhaustion-influenced trancelike state. It was an incredible feeling.
Afterwards, when the crowd was dispersing, drenched in sweat, I see my friend on the other side of the crowd, but also close to the front. He just comes up to me, gives me a hug, and says that when he saw me rush in to the crowd, he got this surge of energy and knew that he had to do it as well, that that was the way to really enjoy the gig.
It's one of my favorite memories, not just of going to see live music, but in my life. I'm so glad these dudes are stil around, doing whatever the fuck they want.

I would like to add that I very much had this same exact experience in Providence, RI where they played 13 monsters with a marching band and the marching band just showed up behind the entire crowd and that made everything even more chaotic. That was the opening song. If I remember the setting correctly, it was and outdoor festival (a very prominent one in Providence, where I even got to meet members of other good bands like Daughters who are also from Providence) and the venue was between two very tall old brick buildings which made everything extremely loud, I'm surprised the buildings didn't collapse behind the wall of amps and cabinets. As this was my favorite band in 2005-2006 and still is, it blew my 17 year old mind and I will never never forget that shit. Both Brian's said "thanks" to the front row for our effort to hold off the never ending push toward the front. I even picked up and tightened a cymbal and stand for Brian Chippendale. That's right, I touched his drums. Easily a highlight of my entire existence. An underground legend.

Brian Gibson is one of the saddest, most bummer people I've ever met. I met him at a festival in 2016, and I ADORE him and Chippendale. He was waiting to do an interview along with Chippendale, and I sat and talked with a bit about the festival, his recent video game Thumper, and about being a bassist like him. He never once smiled, every point he made sounded like he wanted to die and led down spirals of negativity. He almost made me cry, because he was being needlessly somber about... everything. I left after 15 minutes of one on one time with Gibson, even though I knew Chippendale was coming and leaving would mean I would never get to meet him, because he was THAT BAD.
Brian G - whatever is up with you, get help, dude.

I’ve watch this vid at least 100 times by now. This is such a beautiful and chaotic performance. I can’t really describe why but the breakdown starting at 4:50 until about 7:00 is almost cathartic to me easily one of my favorite sections of any song. The frantic drumming stops momentarily to make room for this beautiful triplet riff with Brian stoic in the face as always. Then Brian slowly comes back in with the drums but this time they are a more in control and deliberate as it turns into something that builds gradually back into the chaos that is Lightning Bolt. Amazing.

Eno Eyes I know that as someone who is preforming music he is probably really in the moment and focusing on playing properly, but the way he looks makes him look like he would rather be at home relaxing.

Garrett G Yeah i know what you mean. I'm guessing what's happening is that Chippendale hears Gibson just fine while he plays, and is sort of a tempest, which Gibson has to remain focused like the captain of a ship as he sails the storm. Gibson prolly has to look for cues and listen the way a semi-def person reads lips, he reads drumming. Doing all that while playing the right notes and looking around occasionally so he doesn't get killed by something.
To me he kinda looks like a channeler, concentrating on the magic of things and lining everything up.
