Hi every one today the blacksmith is forging a powerful cleaver from an old axle. Then he used it to cut nail. wow It is so powerful. It has :

You use what you have. This is good honest work. Splines can easily end with cold shuts. This may make no difference in his case. I am sure the blade will last.

A lot of people in the knife/forging community judge the process that's being used here but fail to understand this man is making a knife for someone to use as a tool,knife,survival weapon.
I forge the same way. Some will call it primitive knife making but this blade is built to last and he can trust his life with it.
