  • My collection has grown. I have two new ESP32 S3 boards.
    Both of them are based on esp32 s3 and produced by makerfabs.
    The First board has a built-in round touch display , there is also a slot for an sd card. Controler for display is GC9A01 and for touch on CST816S.
    Second board have huge 4" display, and buil in 3W speaker.
    I tried my code for car gauge and it looks great.
    You can find them here: www.makerfabs.com/
    Here is library: github.com/fbiego/CST816S/blo...
    here is code: github.com/VolosR/mfABS
    If you want you can support my work, you can buy me coffee here :

    Very nice pair of demos. Makerfabs is very wise to send you these so you'd write such terrific demos for their fine products. I hope I can find an application to justify buying one or more soon, since the prices do seem reasonable.
    I'm very new to this, but do now have 6 TTGO T Display modules ( with your projects running on 3 of them) and couple dozen other small OLED and TFT displays I haven't built yet.
    For me, Its FAR more difficult to write, or decipher and debug s/w for these things than to do the h/w but that challenge is part of the fun. Your tutorials on the basics really helped me a lot. Thank You jimS

    Hi Volos, I just got the new Lilygo T-Display-AMOLED-S3. It's terrific! First time I ever had an AMOLED on an ESP32. True blacks and the colours pop. I think you might enjoy it for our projects. The first production run is sold out but there are more coming plus a touch version in the pipeline.

    • @VolosProjects
      @VolosProjects  ปีที่แล้ว

      Omg, you got it, i am waiting that board for long time, i hope i will get it soon i can. Is it slower that old version?

    • @nikthefix8918
      @nikthefix8918 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VolosProjects No it's fast. I'm gonna convert some of your projects (with animation) and do a speed comparison but QSPI for 240x536 should out perform the standard T-Display with i8080 8-bit MCU parallel. I'll stick to your original resolution for the speed test tho, and not render the 'extra' pixels - just for fairness. The colours are a little over saturated which is common when playing TFT IPS demos on AMOLED in my experience but the driver is very simple and the datasheet from Raydium shows colour correction registers available. I've extended the driver to include functions for brightness, invert colours, display on/off, sleep etc. I'll pull request those to lilygo as their code is still 'preliminary' - but it works out of the box. I too have been waiting for this for ages. No more backlight bleed!

      @@VolosProjects Can you persuade max3ddesign to design a case for it? I really like the T-Display one.
      BTW, the data shown on the website for the pre-order amoled board is not up to date. The actual shipped unit is much nicer with a different display - 240x536 vs 194x368. I'm not sure why the preliminary hardware is still listed or why you've not recieved yours yet if you pre-ordered.

    What a really cool display and dial implementation. I really hope that someone develops a round touch display that's built into a proper watch like the LilyGo T-Watch 2020.

    Avoid clocks and guages on the 4" display 'cos the pixel pitch is not square so your circles end up looking like eggs - and Easter is past!
    Unfortunately, many of the popular dev boards use displays with non-square pixels. If accurate screen geometry is important then check the screen datasheet before purchase.
