I bought a 2018 G310GS. Now 5 years later, I have ridden a little over 15000 miles (24140 km). Aside from oil change every 6000 miles (9656 km), I have only replaced the H4 headlight bulb (USD$6.50) at 7000 miles, and the battery (USD$57) at 11300 miles. I was surprised by how early I had to replace the headlight bulb, but if I converted the mileage to number of hours used, then the bulb life was within specification. Yes, I wish the factory BMW battery lasted longer, but it did last 3.5 years. In 2018, my other choice was the Kawasaki Versys 300 which costs more than USD$6000. In fact, that morning I was determined to go to the Kawasaki dealer to buy that motorcycle, but somehow I drove to the nearby BMW dealer instead. Perhaps subconsciously I wanted the BMW. I bought it for USD$5500. It is a good price. A beautiful motorcycle. I have had all sorts of people telling me how nice this motorcycle looks: from old men, young men, young women, and little old ladies! The Kawasaki Versys 300’s parallel twin engine is smoother. But the seat height is also a little too high for me as a beginner. I think the G310GS looks better. So in summary, the G310GS is beautiful, reliable, fun, very comfortable, well assembled, and a very good value. Oh, and this last thing: I could not find a Made in India sticker anywhere on my motorcycle!😅. I asked the BMW dealer, and he too said this motorcycle doesn’t have that sticker.
