I heard this ghazaj live in 1995,sitting just 6 ft. away from asad,at mehndi function in garden town Lhr.superbly sung.
Wao...I am surprised that how people on mehndi managed to listen to a sad song on that event where people usually dance...probably at that time people had a caliber to have enjoyed Asad Amanat.

مجھے اب بھی وہ دور یاد ہے جب ہمارے گھر اسد امانت علی خان صاحب کے گانوں کی کیسٹیں آتی۔ وہ زمانہ میرے بچپن کا تھا مگر مجھے یہ آواز تب سے ہی اپنی طرف کھینچتی تھی اور میں کھیل کود چھوڑ کر خاں صاحب کے گانے اپنے دادا اور والد صاحب کے ساتھ سنتا ۔
ہائےےےے اور اب ان میں سے کوئی شخص بھی زندہ نہیں 💔

Great comments. Completely agreed. The way he would bring the highest of his pitch to the lowest is awesome. And on top of that the quality of voice never dropped a bit. What a man he was. I have met and seen him very closely in 1984 at a friend’s place. He was very handsome and charming.

No words to describe my emotions. I was too young that time when this show was aired on NTM channel. I think it was an occasion may be Eid or Independence day, a few memories left but this song still refreshes my soul whenever I feel alone abroad.

I have been listening to this for hours. I miss the place I grew up, dirt poor, without knowing any creature comforts. Now decades latter I have the creature comforts but I have lost my home. I am trying to build my nest in Canada, it is gorgeous up there; then why I keep on missing my adobe shack ?

I am in Brisbane and wants to go back stranded now coz of pendamic my 85 yr old parents r in district chakwal may Allah let me rejoin with them I want to go back before it's too late .
this is the dilemma every poverty escaping migrant has to deal with. me as well got what i wanted in america, but feel empty when i try to go back. always felt like a tree shovelled out of its original soil, and yes i grew but fruitless.
