Thanks for reacting to the video. I also recognized the metaphor of Michael Angelo's Sistine Chapel, Adams first creation, but I don’t think they mean to send out any religious message. Instead, just trying to say something like "you need to believe yourself, you need to believe your heart", "you're the one having control of your life". And the Adams first creation metaphor seemed to me like "i" (your heart) was giving a second life to "myself" to live. And that was why they titled this number as "GOD_i" - to see yourself from a god's perspective and living a life that matters to you.
Thank you!! Really appreciate your honest opinion! I think understanding the song requires acknowledging the cultural differences in how 'God' is perceived. In Christianity, 'God' represents the supreme being, whereas in Shintoism, 'Kami' encompasses spirits of nature, ancestors, and even abstract concepts. The phrase 'I Am My Own God' in the song likely reflects a concept of self-empowerment. It could be interpreted as a metaphor for finding inner strength, taking responsibility for one's own life, and choosing one's own path, rather than blindly following external authority. I hope you find this explanation useful.
Thank you for your detailed explanation of the group Numbe_i. Thank you for your interpretation of the MV. Numbe_i's MVs always contain a lot of mystery, but this time, the colors also seem to have a meaning.
Hi George. Likely you have fell for Number_i's trap! Their productions are new, unseen, unheard and unexpected, not orthodox, not categorized. That's why I think our first reaction to their music and MV is always "what's this?".. 😄 I know our brain sometimes gets confused to the new things. Then I need to keep watching and watching to find more information to digest them. And "i [a-i]" in Japanese means Love in English, therefore they value it the most. Cheers.
