India needs a huge, manufacturing-friendly policy shift. I work for a small manufacturing company in India, though the policy has eased a lot, we still have a long way to go, hope we bridge fast.

Palki, since 2 decades, China is working hard to move to high value-add manufacturing. 2 significant examples are solar panels and car making. Chinese car making just took over Japan as world first exporter in the world. India has a long way to go in industrialization and urbanization because 2/3 of its population live in rural areas.

I bought a towel made in India and the fabric they use is terrible. Whenever i use it to wipe myself dry after a shower i don't feel like it absorbs the water right. I went in my wardrobe and used the Made in China one (which was made out of the exact same material as the Indian one) and it did a far better job. Indian manufacturing is of a very very low standard. Maybe comparable quality to early 90's Made in China products. If the world does buy Made in India then be prepared for a shocking drop in quality.

If India says that China is not doing good, I just can't imagine how horrific it must be in India.
This is like an F - grade student telling an A+ student he is not doing good.
    - China is 60 times richer than India. (I know it's unfair that the British looted 45 trillion from India, but it is what it is).
    - China's economy is 6 times larger than India's.
    - China's yearly growth is 5 times greater than India's.
    - China has better living conditions and healthcare; on average, they live a whole decade more than their Indian counterpart.
    - China launches 20-50 times more rockets than India into space every year.
    - China is a lot more intelligent, with an IQ of 104 compared to India's 76.
    - China is more athletic and stronger than India, winning 38 times more gold medals than India in the world olympic games.
    - China's reserves is 7 times larger than India's reserves.
    - India is forced to use the Chinese currency when purchasing oil from Russia, Iran, or Venezuela. Due to weak & undesirable Indian Rupees.
    - China has 21 times more companies in the Fortune 500 than India.

A 50% acceptance rate inside a Chinese factory leads to a 20% rejection rate at the customer's dock. Cheaper to throw them away, unpaid, and wait for the replacements. China can't not replace them, they will lose a customer if they don't. Customers don't reject a product without reason, it interrupts their manufacturing flow.

Now you might say wait Hellbot Mexico is totally industrializing why can't India? Yes, but Mexico has no less than 6 oil pipeline coming into from the Mexico from the US, and another 3 under construction. Availability for cheap oil is one of the limiting factors for India.

Salaries are also increasing in China. They want to create a large consumer based economy. Like the USA, some day low end products will be expensive to produce in China.

That’s what I mean when I said it’s a pure case of *MONKEY SEE MONKEY DO* for all things India does…
First, when China made the nuclear boys club, the French, the Soviets Jump on the opportunity to tap into opportunity of India’s nuclear predicament… We of course did not have this luxury…
Second, when the West and the Soviets pulled everything out of China over fear of *Napoleon of the sleeping dragon warning* and the Chinese were forced to build its own fighter jets, ie., the J-6, A-5, J-7, abd J-8, J-8II and JH-7, in order to boost Indian moral, india tried her hand on what was the HAL HF-24 Marut which boasted a speed of Mach 2 (J-7 J-8 standard at the time ), the Marut remain stagnant…
They then went on to the Hawker Hunter to make up for lost time…
When Deng Xiao Ping’s fired up China’s market reform and it showed great progress, India openly copied it to saying why can’t we follow the same reform…
When we were suspected of doing the J-10 fighter, instantly they announced their LCA and their MCA program.
The latter was dropped while Dasssult of France was brought in to finalise the LCA to save face…
Then there was the Varyag, India followed suite here with the one dollar purchase of the admiral Knuskov…
Space is next and they boasted about their mars orbiter while a conspiracy (my opinion) was arrive at between the west and Russia to see to it that we don’t succeed…
How about the lunar program of both countries? They would never have fire up their own lunar program if it weren’t for the face values of it which was reflected by china’s ambitions in the field…
They are even trying their hands on the indigenous CV playing field saying they are on their third CV while we are already on our forth, fifth (nuclear), and a sixth CV (thus one fujian class) and…
When we say we’re into thorium, instantly they announced they are in it too…
If only all of this was in aims to catch up with and beat numero uno and numero dos like we are doing but this is not the case. They are in it cuz we are hence…
      *”MONKEY SEE MONKEY DO”*

I saw a few people ridicule India that China and India didn't have that much difference in GDP in the late 1980s and in 1990 and India didn't grow blah blah blah.
(For everyone's knowledge, I want to say that in 1990, the GDP of China was $400 billion and the GDP of India was $340 billion.)
But they need to understand that China is an autocracy and can implement things much faster than democratic countries. And this thing has its own pros and cons.
Also, you must remember that globalisation started in China in 1978 which took around 12 years to take real shape and impact the economy's growth which kinda started in 1990.
Btw, since they were an early mover they took over the manufacturing and that helped them to achieve the miraculous growth in the last three decades (from 1990 to 2020) that the world talks about nowadays.
But glocalisation in India started in 1990 and started showing a real effect in the early 2000s. Btw, it did good. And now we can see things are taking shape and many things are changing at a rapid pace.
Honestly, I hope that the whole world grows and we can really see a global village that cares for this earth and its people.
A popular saying we have here in India in Sanskrit is -Vasudev Kutumbkam - the whole world is my family! And I hope it becomes true someday. 🌍🏡
    Namaste! 🙏🏼

they economize but produce Large Qtys and sell Globally

The International Monetary Fund (IMF)’s GDP database shows that the world GDP crossed over $100 trillion, in current US dollars, in 2022: it was for the first time ever.In 2019, a year before Covid-19 pandemic, global GDP was a little over $87 trillion, with the United States’s GDP amounting to $21.38 trillion, China’s amounting to $14.34 trillion, and India’s GDP amounting to $2.84 trillion. For 2022, three years after all the Covid-19 disruptions, the US GDP has grown to $25.46 trillion, China’s GDP to $18.1 trillion, and India’s GDP to $3.39 trillion.
The US and China have added GDP of $4.08 trillion and $3.76 trillion respectively in these three years. At the same time, India could add only $0.55 trillion. Both the US and China have added more than India’s 2022-23 GDP ($3.39 trillion) during this period. Given this, are we ratcheting up our GDP growth to catch up with the US and China, India’s GDP gap with the US and China widening alarmingly.

Those cheap, poisonous, micro-plastic spreading, toxic 'toys' are just not worth it. Focus on more worthy and more healthy options to industrialize on. Why not focus on more sustainable and toxic free industries? Was Bhopal not enough of a sign.....

Yeah let the poor stick to agriculture and the country stagnate 😂😂

Clearly you don't know what you talk about. As if agricultural industry is per definition stagnation. I live currently in NL and its is the second largest exporter of agricultural products, so by your reasoning the economy is despite this stagnant and run by 'poor' people. While the GDP and Capita per person is one of the highest in the world. The export of agricultural industry products is the way agricultural sector is set up and how much you can export or produce. It's not perfect here with all the light pollution and energy consumption, but that's mainly for produce that grow in warmer climates i.e. India. If India would invest more in this rather than those stupid toys than we can feed enough people and use the export for strategic Int' contracts. Perhaps a good class in modern economics would be beneficial 'Jude Joseph' 🤡 @@jude-joseph
