@@drhoustThat’s just too wide of a blanket statement. I’ve been to plenty of shows where people were glued to the floor, and plenty of shows were the entire crowd turned into a mosh pit. So many more factors involved than it just being in “Europe”.
It's great when it's dark, the spotlights are on the band members and there is a huge light- and pyro show around it. But it looks terrible in full light...
My first band supported Architects at a tiny venue in Essex about 20 years ago. It's so mad to see them playing venues like this. So happy for them that all their work has paid off.

For those worried about the crowd, These are not initimate club shows and people aren't there for Archtects. People are hanging out, eating food, and drinking until Metallica comes on. This isn't a bad thing though.

Architects sound good but that's it. Lolol. Even when I go to shows here in the U.S, the crowd is less excited for openers (not this dead ofc). It's understandable, but I also find it sad when I am more excited for the opener. Sometimes I even restrain myself because I don't want to draw attention to myself, but I have slowly been getting over that. Can't wait to see Make Them Suffer again opening for Parkway Drive. Hahahah.
Unfortunately, the sound quality in A Arena is very poor, would not recommend ever going to a concert there. Better venues for a band like this would be something outside like Graspop, or Ziggo Dome, which is just magical in terms of quality.

@@drhoust Ireland definitely throws down, it's a very under appreciated scene so fans around here make the most of when bands come on tour. Lamb of God, Slayer, Amon Amarth and Machine Head have been the most insane crowd I've been in, and then of course when you go to see local bands at the underground venues it's even more insane.

It's not their first rodeo in the Netherlands. I'm sure they understand we are more reserved and it's not a festival. People tend to go apeshit at festivals, but in stadiums with older crowds (because of the high ticket prices) when they're expecting a 2+h show of their favorite band, yeah they're going to chill. I've seen Sylosis at a Dutch festival before and after half an hour of being in a moshpit I had to actually nearly leave the crowd entirely to catch a break. There were circlepits everywhere. It's just another vibe at festivals.
Or: People are too busy holding up their phones to record a poorer audio version of what they're experiencing first hand. Perhaps the reason the crowds were a lot more active back in the day. They were just enjoying the moment rather than trying to share it in a much lower quality to everyone else.
To everyone talking about the crowd being lame: 1) It's probably very early in the evening. Metallica plays long ass concerts. People conserve energy. 2) Dutch people are reserved. Source: I'm Dutch. 3) There might be a large part of the crowd that is exclusively into thrash metal, they might like this music but not be into it 100%.
I have watched metallica with a 360 stage and with a regular stage and i must say that the 360 experience was way better. A lot more people can be closer to the band, and in my case the sound was spot on. But i do agree that in this case it looks a bit baren.
@@Juventinos with a stage in the center of a field you can sell a ticket for each seat. While with a traditional stage you cant sell tickets for the seats behind the stage of said arena. More people is more money
