We're taking a first listen of Samory I's sophomore album, 'Strength". The album follows his critically acclaimed debut album, "Black Gold" (2017) and shows that Samory I ent got no time for no "sophomore slump". The album was produced by Winta James and is excellent! It continues on the same spiritual theme as "Black Gold".

Big up, awesome review and what a nice album! 🔥🔥🔥
Truly appreciated! Blessed.
💥💯
A great album! He's done it again.
Listen to the brother daily!!
Great artist, bro.
First some reason I slept on that first album. But, I can't stop listening to this new album. First I got hooked on " Jah Love " then the rest of the album crawled in my soul. I'm not a average listener, being I have been a selector for many years. And I have been listening to Reggae since 1981. This is a masterpiece
In other words, you've been listening to reggae since the year of my birth. Lol. Blessings, my brother.
@@iriereviews Once it gets in your soul, it never leaves
@@gregoryspevack2263yes, indeed. Same with me.
dont sleep on the first. the quality is lovely.
@@smhunney8266 especially if you love the "purer" roots reggae sound.
yea the album tough you know. tough tough tough.
It tough!!! Lol. Yeah, man!
Crown and Blood in the Streets are the stand out tracks for me - they are both so extraordinary. Although i love the album and think it is vastly superior to most modern roots album, Black Gold still has it for me -that one is the one thats going with the classics in my opinion. Have been listening to roots since the early 80s but with a particular focus on the 70s, so maybe some of these tracks a bit modern for me? However Strength is a very nice album and well worth purchasing..that first track with Lila Ike has such a vibe i cant stop playing it! 🔥🔥🔥👍 (i dont know if you have seen it but there is a live video session on Radio 1Xtra yt channel of tracks from Black Gold which is awesome - they really extend some of the dubbiness of the tracks, beautiful vibes
This is excellent, thank you. I agree about Black Gold. Given two excellent albums, I'll always choose the roots reggae sound.
@@iriereviews can't beat it no way

I don't. I'll look into it.
