Yup! Since NPC "shot avoidance" is ramped based on number of projectiles near them, the large hitbox and low fire rate of gauss/heavy plasma is more likely to hit than most other weapons. Plus, that high damage. Not so useful in PvP, however, where higher fire rates are generally better...
I mean, technically ANY ship *can* be used for PvP. It just depends on how patient you are and what level of difficulty you're up for. The hound is great for chasing down a fleeing target, but you won't NOT see them get used when the situation calls for it. Yes, that includes a Behemoth XC - TECHNICALLY you can do collision damage! Patience and stubbornness! XD
The hornet mk2 is also a great multipurpose ship with decent cargo (25 cu), good speed (220 m/s I think? and infi turbo maybe?) and four small weapons so it can be really good unless if you get into pvp very often on the go because the hornet is very prominently known as "The flying coffin" in pvp. And also is itani pronounced I-tani or E-tani because I always said E-tani but you say it like I-tani.
The hornet is part of part 2. and, its hitbox is too large and its manueverability is too low compared to its armor. And that's me, who has recently been loving the hornet :P
For the Border Wars, I use a rev with 2 Gauss and a plasma eliminator.
