Hi! Would you mind talking more about virtual bookkeeping? For example, what apps you use, how you receive your client's documents such as receipts, etc. Thank you and GOD bless! Best, Brenda
Do you follow FinePoints ? She has a lot of videos about that sort of thing. I use hubdoc for receipts and documents. And I use keeper as a client portal and everything else app. If you haven’t heard of keeper go watch the video Veronica Wassek did here on TH-cam with Keeper. Keeper and Hubdoc both play really nicely with QBO.
Your videos have been such a valuable resource for understanding bookkeeping concepts, especially payroll. Your explanations are clear and easy to follow, which has helped me grasp complex topics with more confidence. I hope you'll continue to create content in the future. Your contributions are greatly appreciated! 📚📊
Thank you for making this video. It showed me how easy payroll is and that I already have a background in it. I always thought that payroll would be SO complicated!
Thank You for your input I'm researching bookkeeping I will be doing this eventually when I feel I have better understanding of the basics and the tools and things needed for legal business 🤠
Hi, I have been watching more of your videos lately and want to say that I like the way you present your information, it is really easy to follow and repeat. Kudos to you for that. I encourage you to continue to make more content for your audience. BTW where can I buy you a cup of coffee, you need a link for that below:-)
Great video, the content is great. But the audio for this video and your others could use an upgrade. As someone just coming up in the accounting profession I found your videos to be really insightful and a lot more helpful than others that kinda just mention things broadly but don't go into the real detail involved within bookkeeping/accounting. Anyway, keep up the great work.
Ben, you are so right - I've wanted to upgrade my recording/audio setup for a while but felt too amateur. Sounds like your comment means it's finally time to invest in some better technology, and think through my recording space a little bit more! Thank you for your kind words :)
could you talk about debits and credits? I took a course that made me feel more confused than before I took the course. You have a great way of explaining things so they're actually understandable
Hello, I see you have not posted in over 11 months. I hope things have gone well with your bookkeeping business. I enjoyed your videos. Any chance we can get an update?
hey your tutorial is amazing. Can I request one for ways if your idea in sorting invoices. we make invoices in shopify. but it does not have an option to sort it all out. i guess i have to create a formulated sheet. can you help me? hope you can read this.
Do you as a bookkeeper need a special insurance to run payroll? Another related question is, do you have a higher liabilty if you run payroll? Are there things that you could legally be sued for? Of course you would want to do your best, but everyone makes mistakes sometimes, so I am curious what the risks are and how to mitigate those risks? Is it with insurance or working with an accountant?
Hi my book keeper paid too many taxes to the IRS because she made mistakes on 2 of my employee checks then I had to rewrite new checks She made a huge mistakes such as paying $5000 instead of $149.00 to the employee….Then she sent taxes in the $5,000 instead on the $149.00 Can I get these taxes back?
When you run payroll for clients or submit weekly withholding, how do you take a vacation? Is the owner the backup to run payroll and submit withholding?
This is a great question. I have often wondered the same thing. From a former bookkeeper, her understanding with the client was that the client would run that payroll. But I have often wondered how I would do this across multiple clients. Payroll is definitely very nuanced. I’ve also wondered how take a maternity leave would work 🥴 I’ll make a post about this when I have more information/ideas to share!
I was wondering this dilemma too. Think payroll processing would need some backup procedures in place. Life and other unexpected things happen but payroll functions needs to be timely and have consistency
Hi Rachel, does your friend for the Everything Bookkeeping University have a Facebook page or TH-cam channel? The website to purchase the course doesn't say anything about her.
Tiara, that's a great question! He does not have a Facebook or a TH-cam channel. But hopefully there will be more information soon about the program! I can understand wanting to get some background information :)
That’s a great question and it truly depends on the business and whether they have the ability to print checks or if I have to hand write them. If it’s a normal payroll (regular hours, no new employees, etc) and I can print the checks - maybe 15 minutes. If it’s a like more time intensive (double checking new pay rates, adding bonuses, separate direct deposit schedule) and I have to hand write them - it could take up to an hour or more. I do all payrolls currently in person, but I know people who run payroll remote for clients that have all direct deposit employees.
I hope that you will come back to making videos here. You have been such a great resource for all of us ❤
Agreed!!! 💙
I hope you’ll come back to TH-cam soon. Hoping everything is ok in your world. ❤
Hi Rachel, Will you be making more videos for bookkeepers???

You discussed everything clearly!
Great explanation and tutorial. So many people shy away from payroll if it’s not done thru a payroll service
Thank you for that comment 😊

Do you have consultion to explain stuff to oncoming book keeper ?

Hi Brenda,
Would you do consulting? If yes, I’m starting my business and very interested
Been really enjoying your videos!!

How do you charge for payroll?
Approx. how much extra time does processing payroll for your client take? Do you do this for them in person or can you do remotely?
That’s a great question and it truly depends on the business and whether they have the ability to print checks or if I have to hand write them. If it’s a normal payroll (regular hours, no new employees, etc) and I can print the checks - maybe 15 minutes. @@RealisticBookkeeping thanks for the thorough explanation
