    Appreciate this video, tremendously. Bought my Dart two years ago, to save some mileage on my truck. Wife got me woofers for our anniversary. I finally start running cables to the trunk, with intent to tap rear shelf speakers for the LOC. Come to find that I did not have shelf speakers in the rear LOL. So, now I will be tapping the twisties to get my Dart slappin'. Here I thought all cars came with rear shelfies. Not the Dart haha.

      @@chipsfries3041 love my dart. Thank you. Ive own 94 and 04 mustang gts and rx8 and this car is a great car. Fun to drive and pretty quick. I was very surprised. This model is worth owning. Some people compared it to the neon and i can say its not a neon. Interior looks nothing like one nor the exterior. And the motor is a European motor so i dont know what to tell these people.

    Ok, best information I've seen so far. Thanks a lot for making this. I've got a white '13 rallye 1.4 with the manual. Fun car, but like you said, definitely pros and cons lol.
    Do you have the Alpine system upgrade? I know you mentioned the 500w amp, but I didn't see the alpine badges on the A pillar. So I'm just not clear on that. I do, so it makes a difference in comparing our installs.
    I'm having a hell of a time with it. Hardest one I've ever done for sure. Just adding an amp and a sub. It shouldn't be such a big deal haha.
    The first way I tried it was to splice into the factory sub in the trunk and use that high level signal as my source. It worked, but it didn't. That's just not how it's supposed to sound. One second it was like it wasn't even on, and the next it was pounding full blast. No amount of tweaking made a difference.
    I thought maybe because the signal had already been through a LP crossover inside the alpine amp??? , then into another amp, it was messing up somehow. So I tried splicing off the rear deck speakers instead, which I assume would get a full range signal. Basically the same problem though.
    But why should it matter? Regular decks have amps already built in for basic installs. I could use the high levels off of that and it would work fine. Who cares if it's an external amp instead? Maybe there's some kind of signal processing going on that's just not meshing well. That's all I can think of.
    Is this why you used the fronts perhaps? Do I NEED a LOC maybe? If the amp (my aftermarket one, that is) has high and low inputs, why should it even matter?
    My next idea was going to be to intercept the signal from the head unit (the 8.4) before it hits the amp. But I'm getting the idea that the head unit doesn't actually process anything and that it all happens in the amp. In which case there would be no wire to splice into, whatever color they might be. I'm sure glad I didn't hastily pull the dash apart haha.
    If I can't figure this out I'm tempted to mount a totally separate deck somewhere and completely bypass the factory equipment. It was so much easier in the old days when you just took out the factory deck, put in the new one and ran off the rca's.
    If you have any thoughts or anything on all this I'd love to hear them. There's not nearly enough info on this car online. They never even published a repair manual. But I can't complain. I'm the one who bought it 😁
    Thanks, Aaron

      It is amplified and sounds pretty good but Im used to more bass so needed to upgrade. Crazy thing is when having it inspected, it came up as a sxt. But it is a rallye model...has all the bells and whistles. Its honestly a snappy car for being such a small motor. Ive owned fast cars too. Kept up with my friends 2012 wrx. he was suprised and so was I.

  • @monkybawlz8466

    My father and I got an 8" speaker and an amp, ran the power cord and the RCA cables to the front, took the glove box out and found the CPU on the 2014 Dodge Dart 2.4L Multiair, and we need to splice the RCA adapter into the radio harness to finish the job. The cords are a wild mess, the green and yellow that feeds from the rear speakers changes color after it leaves the door, as we found out from prying the thing loose to see the wires, and we can't figure out if the black harness is the radio or the white one on the bottom left of the OEM. It's confusing as hell, we just want to splice the adapter in, turn the damn thing on and have it work. Any words of advice?

    • @monkybawlz8466
      @monkybawlz8466 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We think that the red wire is the power coming from the harness. We already spliced the amp power wire into the red power wire in the harness itself. Now we need to figure out which two wires power the back two speakers so we can splice in our adapter wires, and then plug the RCA cables into the adapter.

    • @monkybawlz8466
      @monkybawlz8466 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Went ahead and spliced the two rear cables into two cables feeding into one of the adapters before the harness that plugs directly into the OEM.

      If you look from under the hood you'll see a area where wires run through. Same for inside driver side. Look up from driver floor into the firewall. You see wires going into fire wall through rubber gromet. I poked a clean hole through with a long flat head. Twisted it as i sent it through. The power wire fit snug and no water or air can get through. Take your time. The wire may be tuff to push through but it will go through. Once you get it into the engine bay take your time. Not much space to fit your hand through so use long needle nose to grab it
