- "I don't want to go back to the living room one bit.
But you gotta do what you gotta do. I don't know if it's because I found a way to escape the spider's lair, but I feel mega-determined, like the force is within me and all that jazz! It's like I've become a hamster-jedi."
About the Book:
In the words of translator Sophia Barry Gordon, "Bébert is a pet hamster who is kidnapped by a mysterious individual he calls The Spider or The Mutant. He's stolen away from his beloved owner, the ten-year-old Paloma, who is a judo fanatic. He's held captive, with The Spider's other hamsters, Bob, Oli, Wood, Matzoh, and the beautiful Cherokee who are content to live on their little rodent ranch, but are quite unamused with the nutty, fuddy duddy Bébert, who they call Gramps. But Bébert has other plans-plans of escape."
