- Alexander Lischke is only 10 years old in this recording, his first solo at Irsee. The story is that he sang this with minimum warning, about 3 days, after one of the oldest soloists went into voice change and the backup soloist did not show up.

*_Those very low notes must have been a challenge for Alexander. His face shows wonderful expressions and he belts out those high notes with wide open mouth. Because the photographer cannot tolerate having the camera on Alexander when he is not singing, we constantly miss his beginning note every time._* 🎼
Yes, I think the person taking the video did not know the piece so he is always waving the camera around to try to catch the 'action', which s a pity as it means he is always 'late'.
Remarkable performance by any standard, for a 10 year old, outstanding.
I've watched th is over and over and am blown away every time!!! By the way, does anyone what has become of him? Is he still involved in music? Asking in 2021.
@@kerryturner6458 search Alexander Lischke on TH-cam and you'll find a couple videos of the now grown up Alexander giving speeches at work. I don't think he's still involved with music though.
Alexander is one of the best soloists in Tølzer Knabenchor, !!!!!
Interesting comparison is that of Ludwig Mittelhammer and the Tölzers on tour in Japan, with excellent piano accompaniment by Christian Brembeck.
@@maestrovoci7214 Yes, I agree that that is an interesting comparison in several aspects. What strikes me most is the difference between the 'polished' Ludwig Mittelhammer at the height of his career and the 'raw' Alexander Lischke very early in his. I personally prefer Alexandersurely one of the best (if not the best) soprano / treble ever to sing in the Tölzer. As an alto Frederick Jost ranks very high. They were in the choir at the same time, the heydays of the Tölzer!
@@Onbekommerd The Tölzer had in the past a lot of very good boy soloist ! The current status I don´t know.

Well, as Alexander Lischke was born in 1992, he was 10 yo here. - right should be right. But that doesn´t take away anything from the brave and brilliant singing of this small artist.

I saw long time ago a video of Tolzer choir singing Mirjams Siegesegesang with Alexander but only with piano. I knew there was a version with full orchestra but I never could find it... until now that just appeared as a suggestion. Wonderful!!! the best version of all, I don't know why there are no versions like this one.
That was probably Ludwig Mittelhammer from a concert in Japan a few years earlier. The piano version is the original by Schubert, this was orchestrated by someone else later in the 19th century.
Great job, Alexander. We did this piece with our local choir, but sadly we did not have any Alexander, nor a Jelosits or Mittelhammer to sing the solo parts.

@@Suila2007 I just noticed, I haven´t done it either. The reason is probably that someona else (Robert Lothander) has made a video on it. Of course I can do it anyway - and I shall do, because Christmas is near. I´ve made a version by Paavo Heinonen. I hope you enjoy it too.

@@Suila2007 Yes, indeed! It doesn´t exist! I haven´t noticed it. The only version at the moment is in theTopic list: Esko Airikka - Topic. (The song is a pretty short version.)
