Man, this is one of my favorite scenes in all of gaming. "And yet... here I am again, at yet another doorstep... with the executioner's blade in my very hand." Your music selection was beyond perfect for that part.
Trivia.. the fact that toth has a daemon hammer means he's killed a greater deamon and banished it. I read that it's a requirement for the inquisition to give you one.
Sort of. In the novelization, they explained that formerly Toths, presently Gabriel's Daemonhunter was forged from the remains of an empowered sword from a Slain Avatar-of-Khaine. Not the same one from this particular Campaign of course, but one that was also formerly loyal to Farseer Macha. It's mainly the reason she knows who Toth is from 'The Evil Horror that Lies Within' cutscene.
I have to wonder what would've happened if Toth had been upfront about what was going on. I swear, sometimes it seems that the Inquisition WANTS the Imperium to die out.
I know this is a really old comment, but i want to answer your question The Inquisitor’s job is to not trust anyone, they don’t give you information but also at the same time want you to spill any truth you have. The Blood Ravens has a reputation of hiding knowledge and seeking artefacts. And Inquisitor Toth sensed some Chaos tainted around Captain Angelos, which turn out was his best friend Librarian. Toth is in no position to tell them the truth first hand, even forced to
They do explain the Inquisition was questioning the Blood Ravens because of what happened in Cyrene. It was the Blood Ravens Captain Angelos himself who ordered the Exterminatus on his homeworld. The Inquisition was right to be very suspicious of them.
Gabriel Angelos. The one who owes up to his own faults. The one who fucks up, and cleans up his own trash while keeping faith in the emperor. He and a few of the other Blood Raven heroes are the only reason I truly like them as a chapter.
The third game had potential, but Relic squandered it. Even if the graphics weren't shit, the plot made no sense. They made Gorgutz subservient to some random Bad Moons Warboss, only to have him pull a Starscream. An Eldar Farseer aligning herself with Orks and Space Marines is the most ridiculous thing I have heard and that's the kindest thing I can say about that plotline.
This music is great, but it's far too loud, you can barely hear the conversation in certain places. Could you not edit it in any way to lower the volume. Otherwise it's an awesome clip!
It is horrible to see the allure that a demon can have upon even a most faithful servant of any faith. There was one short story where a demon of Slannesh, seduced and turned an entire company of Khorne worshippers, all except their leader, Kharn. Kharn was ALMOST seduced, but remained faithful to Khorne. In his rage, he slew all his former battle brothers for turning from the Blood God. After slaying all of his former friends and all enemies, he says "life doesn't get any better than this".
The song is called Kaishou from Gankutsuou - The Count of Monte Cristo soundtrack. Kasamatsu Kouji is the artist. And yeah I beat Dark Crusade with the Necrons and Imperial Guard.
Should have explained all this beforehand, Inquisitor Toth. You guys are just like Eldar with late messaging in mind. (Music is good, but it feels a bit too loud compared to other vids here.)
these video clips are great, and if you watch them all in order, its like a movie, the outro follows straight after what happens in the intro, like calling for some one, they come straight after the intro into the outro
when you compare the story telling of this dawn of war to soulstorm or dark crusade you realize how lazy they became, because there is nearly no story telling in those two expansions aside from an introduction for the race you choose and an epilogue for each race as you defeat them and on for the race you chose after you beat the last enemy
Jacob Soulstorm was far too rushed terrible game but with dark crusade and Soulstorm I loved reading the archive info on provinces their is one in Soulstorm where it's like "some are saying the puny Xenos have set up an interplanetary cannon on the moon above if you hear anyone spreading these rumours you should report them to your local commissar officer for mindscrubbing' aka BLAMMED
Dark crusade is more for conquest Champaign which is fine. I liked the Champaign of winter assault though, my favourites imperial guard and orks Gorgutz vs Crull os the same as Vageta vs Nappa
The original Dawn of War up to Dark Crusade will always be my all time favorite games to play (Did not enjoy Soul Storm much :S). Especially some of the Closer to Codex mods. As for Dawn of War II, I did enjoy the storyline, but enjoyed Retribution more with the return of the Daemon in the Maledictum manifested in Chapter Master Kyras.
@Galenin What are you talking about? The mission comes with the games. This mission you are watching is from the first original game, Dawn of War, followed on with the expansions Winter Assault, Dark Crusade and then Soul Storm (SS is not considered good by the fans). Then later we have Dawn of War 2, with expansions Chaos Rising and then Retribution. Any more questions?

omg....my first two posts died in transition. So here it is, thanks for putting the stats up, and I think that you are still wrong - I went in detail both times but I am sick of typing my reasons because they are mini-essays.
The demon from the maledictum was the one who elevated Kyras to the status of demon prince. Some people say he fused with Kyras and by killing Kyras you stopped it but that was never confirmed or ever stated. Given that the demon from the maledictum seems to be far greater in power than Ulkaire who was the focus of an entire game I would say the demon from the maledictum was never destroyed and is still off somewhere. And no, he didnt show up in the 3rd game either so the status on the demon within the maledictum is still unknown at this time.
Sean Maguire Gabe were face Maledictum. It was in DoW 2 Retribution. If you playing as Space Marine DoW 2 Retribution then there Gabriel tell that Kyras become Daemon Prince of Tartarus or Maledictum. And yes.... this is Daemon Prince of Khorne not Tzeentch.
@@nanomachinesson2513 He was kinda indirectly related to Kyras. But still. This Daemon wields far FAR greater power. More than the daemon engulfed in the planet in DOW3
@@nanomachinesson2513 Well demons are never destroyed. They are just "banished" to the warp and can comeback to realspace in.... a few hundred or thousands of years.
there are no inquisitor space marines, unless you count the grey knights which is a special chapter devoted to daemonhunting composed purely of psykers - but even then, they are of a totally different organization within the imperium.
lol I meant in DoW, not the real 40k. In 40k, I think the Baneblade would dominate a Raider. It is a superheavy, so its AV is more than 14 I assume (I don't have any of the Imperial Armour books). And even the Raider with an AV of 14 on all sides would get crunched by the main gun, lascannons, turret-mounted mortar and autocannon of the 'Blade.
love these cut scenes .. but i gotta say 1 thing, usually your music fits really well with what's going on and that.. but music here didnt fit and was kinda loud sometimes almost higher then guys that where talking so hard to understand 'em
well...dont forget that four lascannons can do a lot of damage against armour....the baneblade only has two plus a bevy of anti-infantry weapons. It would be its main cannon and lascannons against the Land Raider's own that would essentialy determine the victor.
how do you get to the missions, are they to be downloaded somewhere? I am a fan of this game but did not know there are missions or something, pls answer ...
then put the 'Blade up against astartes and you have jump pack, power armoured, power fisted, melta bomb marines toting the dreaded teleport homer reaching you by turn 2. You know what comes next, and after the deep strikers and drop pods have fallen around your tank, that AV 14-12 doesn't look too reassuring anymore.
So am I. I just have played the videogames enough to know that the massed firepower of the Tau and the IG and the melee force of the Kroot and the Assault Marines would own.
but let me give it one more try...yes, I agree the 'Blade could take on a 1000pt army of guard or eldar who have shitty armour saves, weak guns (flashlights and slingshots repectively), rely on the entire army in cohesion (ie they all need to work together to win...they are victorious due to the sum of their parts rather then individual valor), bad LD (mostly), and no real 'hard-hitters' except for characters.
eldar: i wont tell you what the key does, ill only hint at it and blame you for not being strong enough to face it, i am so smart and you are so dumb human: heres what the key unlocks, heres its history, here is why i am here and why i have been acting like this, will you please help me fight it? and eldar seriously wonder why we are so quote-unquote "stupid?"
heheheh....actually, I have always wondered which tank would win in a one-on-one stand up fight at mid range (all-weapons capability for the Baneblade - that's all 11 guns versus two twin linked lascannons and a twin linked heavy bolter). In 40k itself, I think the Baneblade would trump the 'Raider, but in DoW I wouldn't be surprised to see the 'Raider win....or at least a VERY close tie.

Yeah in many ways Dawn of War II's expansions were superior to the original Dawn of war II; Retribution really came into it's own with the long awaited fight with that daemon :)
I strongly feel that SINDREEH, Gabriel and Isador both have some of the best voice acting in a video game ever!

Dawn of war II did have some bad-ass dialogue but I cannot help but feel more effort was put into the Dawn of War I cut-scenes; camera angles etc
Damocles178 with the exception of the exterminatus scene in retribution I agree
yes, a great soundtrack to the dialogue. Good job cheney
Michael Dobson.
He also voiced the Big Mek, Space Marine Scouts, and Imperial Guardsmen.
once again can't believe how well the song you've chosen fits with this scene. excellent work cheney.
I make sure they fit with the mood and action of the scenes.
