I'm from Oldham and my first job was an apprentice at Joshua Heap on Boodle St in Ashton. I had many a good night with the lads in the town. I remember in The Feathers, the queue for the bar started when you walked in the door. The best chippy was the wooden spoon in the old bus station, I can still taste the gravy 😋
Such a shame seeing the state Ashton is currently in. Decades of Labour run council has killed it. I moved away to Northumberland and all the major towns have excellent leisure facilities as well as lots of free parking in and around the major towns!

Great vid! I’m moving into the town in a couple of months, so thank you for the virtual tour ❤️
No worries, welcome to Ashton
