You are so talented. I cannot believe how quickly you sewed your Mom’s jacket. It does not look Christmas. She will be thrilled. What a lovely gift. She will be happy to receive. You’re knitting projects are all progressing. Thank you for the Vlogmas.
awe... so sweet. I remember my son's first recital. Brought tears to my eyes. Thanks for sharing this special time with us. I love that your socks are in the sock monkey bag.
Okay, this volg felt like me 20 years ago! My son's piano recitals, the knitted sweaters that have gone awry and live unassembled in bags to this day, and the inappropriate cozy had me LMAO!!!!! I love hearing your stories Liz! Merry Christmas to you and may 2025 bring you many happy crafting days!!!!!
Thanks for your vlog. I actually think your hoodie sleeve looks fine. You don’t walk about with your arms stretched out! Your knitting is all fantastic. Well done on Mum’s jacket. You are so talented. Congratulations to your nephews on their recital. Hope you had a fun Christmas and I look forward to the next vlog. Thank you for sharing everything.
I am in awe that you can start two big projects so close to Christmas and finish them. I can’t wait to see how the coat and bag turn out! Merry Christmas.
The piano recital was so cute! Your hoodie sweater is so cute! I was thinking…what if you start the other sleeve with the fewer stitches and see if you notice a difference before ripping out the one you have done? Just a thought!! 🤷🏻♀️ Happy new year!🎉
My granddaughters are pianists also! It’s so joyful to watch them! I love to make Christmas gifts too! It’s so motivating, but it can be a lot! Thanks for the fun video!
Elizabeth you are so funny! I kept telling you (at the tv) “girl, you’d better get busy on those gifts!) Ha! I procrastinate too so I get it. I also want to say, I like the sweater sleeves with a bit more room. But I’m not wearing it, you are. It’ll be beautiful when it’s all done. I hope your Christmas was blessed!
Good plan starting the 2nd sleeve before you rip out the other one. I am a basic knitter but love watching you and how you change everything (I would be so afraid to do that). Happy New Year!
Listen we haven't hung ornaments for 5 years because we have cats and little hands, don't sweat it, you will get ornaments on the tree again, one day. Merry Christmas to you and your family and Happy New year!!
I watched in amazement at all that you accomplished. I hope auntie’s present gets done, but Iam sue you’ll McGyver your way to something fantastic. Thank you for vlogging and Merry Christmas!
Smart camera push dark zones and light zones closer together. The human eye sees more zones so differences in tones look more subtle. Think Ansel Adam’s. Cameras will push darks a little darker and lights a little lighter which is why on camera it is showing more contrast between the two which is misleading if your eye doesn’t see it the same way. Your eye is seeing it the right way so don’t sweat what the camera shows! The human eye sees 18-20 zones between black and white. Cameras see 11.
Loved the inappropriate sock! Sorry you had to lot of stress over your hoodie..though it looks great and I liked the I-cord colour. Happy Christmas to you and your family.
Oh Liz I so understand how you feel about your sweater. For sure you need a breather. But keep on going because it looks great. And your mom is going to Love her coat.
That was fun! Sorry about your sleeve though. Can’t wait to see all the Christmas gifts finished. I don’t think the jacket looks Christmasy at all. Love it.
Your nephews played beautifully! For the multicolored sweater, because it’s so many colors, you could wear it often with jeans and/or a jean skirt or something like that!
I ended up sqeaking 1:03:39 out a,mill hill Gnome and I made up my mind that next year I am doing my hand made gifts in January! No more panicking! There are things you can do to your tree to keep the cats off your tree. Seems to me there is spray or things you can do to the bottom. You should check into it. You should be able to enjoy your tree. Our son has two cats and they have 2 decorated trees one is 9 ft and the other is 7.5. I don't know why but they have 2 cats and they do not bother the trees. The thing they used to do is climb on their village. But they found something to put something on the floor and that keeps them off the village.
What a week! It started out low key with Charlie and Andy’s lovely pianos recital and a calm selection of Sugar Cookie for the drawstring of the hoodie. The week started to go off the rails when you discovered the sleeve was too full and MAY not work out. Solution: start knitting another pair of socks! Your gifts for your Aunt and Mother … decisions to be made, materials to be ordered, and prayers to the Postal G-d for an early delivery. Let’s knit a bit on the hoodie and then on a sock. You had your appointment to quilt the fabric for the gifts for your Aunt and your mother. I’m ecstatic that you quilted your mother’s fabric first or we would see elizabethcanhaveacompletebreakdown! You worked on knitting a sock for a while and then tried on the hoodie. Having issues with the sleeve … switch over to knitting the hood! The cats are destroying the Christmas tree. You knit on another sock. The fabric you chose for your mother’s coat is gorgeous! The hoodie will turn out just fine. A lot of hoodies have oversized sleeves. Every pair of socks you are knitting are in the loveliest yarn. Especially sugar Cookie! ❤️ Everything is working out, but it was hilarious watching you working through it all. I was concerned for your mental health, but your coping mechanism is to knit a bit on a sock or maybe the hoodie. I cannot wait to watch your next video after the cliffhanger! Oh, and tell the cats that if you find out who was the ringleader of Operation: Take Down and Destroy A Handmade Ornament … They will be your Aunt’s Christmas present. Gift wrapping optional. I cannot wait for the next installment of the ElizabethAnnShow! Keep knitting! 🧶🧶🧶 PS: I loved the red and white quilt on your bed! Did you make it? Is it a pattern that is available for sale 🤩🤩🤩
Hi Liz. I can so relate to the sweater dilemma. I actually stopped the video 37 minutes in. Have you gone on Ravelry and checked out other knitters project pages/comments to see if there is a common theme with the sleeves?? ❤
Oh my nerves, that ornament of the pyrex bowls are amazing. Too cute. I don’t think the red of the quilted jacket looks Christmassy and I think it will look amazing on your mom too. December goes so fast and it’s just so busy, it gets ahead of us. Love the latest sock cast on. Ribbed socks look so funny just holding up. I’ve made that pattern and they are incredible. I too agree it’s hard to know when to start the gusset and pattern isn’t perfectly clear enough. Just throw them in the dryer for a bit. Oh, didn’t want to forget your hoodie. I don’t think you will see the line in the front from adding a new skein, when wearing. I think the welt pattern of it likely fits differently. Great idea to block it before automatically yanking off the needles and frogging. I’d also check other Raveller’s project notes and see if there are any comments about the sleeves being so big. Likely also matters in the difference of yarn choices whether softer/limper fabric than stiff. It will be beautiful. Your advent rainbow is gorgeous too. Hope you were able to finish the quilt and figure out something for your Aunt. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas.
Yes Yes….I was thinking 8 stitches less also…….great problem solving …..feel’in the pain of indecision ….but taking another look…the hoodie looks like hoodie sweatshirts look under the armpit……just think’in…..
Yeah Rob is trying to convince me the sleeve will look much more normal and like a regular hoodie sleeve once I have the ribbing on so we will see! Once I finish the hood I’ll make a plan for the sleeves!
Love watching your weekly vlogs Liz! I've never used a quilting machine, and wonder if you can explain what a zipper set is? I was confused when you mentioned putting in a zipper and then taking it out. Can you explain? Thank you! Merry Christmas.
I've gone through it in more detail in other quilting videos but basically you need a "leader" and "ender" to load a quilt onto a machine and my studio uses zippers as the leaders so I just baste on super long zippers to my backing in order to load it onto the machine
Maybe in blocking the sleeve will be narrower since I've heard this pattern really grows in length. You will inevitably lose width to gain length! ETA: Watching further in the video, I saw you steam blocked, but maybe a full block will still help, idk 🤷🏻♀️
Sweater doubt! I think your body to sleeve dilemma will block out. I'd try steaming it and see how it looks. Maybe check its measurements against the pattern schematic and see how it compares. Don't be discouraged! I love the sock yarn I cord for it. Very cute!
It’s so sad to watch the kids play at a recital and most of the audience has their heads down on their phones. Andy and Charlie played beautifully was so impressed. Thank you for sharing with us

Your nephews played the piano so well! Thank you for sharing. Too cute.
they're so cute, love their little recitals!
OMG!!!! Thanks for the laugh😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣!!! Love the “sock”.

Oh Liz you are just amazing!!! You go GIRLFRIEND!!!
Love your fabric choices! Your inappropriate sock is lovely! Love your hoodie and the speckled tie thing! You have cracked me up this week!
I was cracking myself up watching this one back while editing 😂
Love the speckled i-cord!! Not the yellow. Your socks are great!!!
You are the best. I hope you had an amazing Christmas. Thanks so much for sharing ❤❤❤
it was great, thank you!! Merry Christmas!
Loved Vlogmas! Thanks for doing it! ❤

Please tell Charlie and Andy that I truly enjoyed their piano recital
I love your colorful socks!!!
Thank you for a fun video. I hope your Christmas was fantastic. Happy crafting. ❤
Wow! Charlie you did a great recital. Andy you did a wonderful first recital.
I got married 41 years ago and I received the same set of bowls as a wedding gift. I still use them everyday.
oh thats awesome!! My parents are at 45!
Hahaha! Your inappropriate cozy is awesome 😂
😂😂
My tip for Christmas ornaments at cats is to use twist ties and attach the ornaments to the tree
I love that sweater and the color. I also like the slouchy look of the sleeve. So in vogue. Buy you need to love it.

Ooh, yes to sugar cookie icord. So fun!

thanks Alison! She loved it!

LOVE the speckled i cord
thank you!!

I do know the Pyrex bowls! From Corning, NY where I live and worked for Corning Glass Works!!

How about casting on the second sleeve with less stitches before frogging 1st sleeve?
Knitsophy has a scrappy tee that might work with an advent?
the sleeve looks fine....
Hi Liz. I can so relate to the sweater dilemma. I actually stopped the video 37 minutes in. Have you gone on Ravelry and checked out other knitters project pages/comments to see if there is a common theme with the sleeves?? ❤
I haven't but I will before I decide what to do! I'm still working on the hood right now!
I don’t think the sleeves are too big. It’s a hoodie so you will be wearing something under it that may take up the space.
Oh my nerves, that ornament of the pyrex bowls are amazing. Too cute. I don’t think the red of the quilted jacket looks Christmassy and I think it will look amazing on your mom too. GREAT video just ❤️ it
Elizabeth what if you made the sleeves on hoode as cap sleeves. When you tried it on the other sleeve looked .

@ got it! And now I recall hearing this on your quilt videos. My brain is foggy post Christmas. Thanks for responding.
Merry (belated) Christmas! Ever considered a hooded vest vs sweater, so just shorten the sleeves and might be better for your climate too.
Your hoddie looks beautiful on you! Aren't servers and hoddies bigger because you have to cover up over a blouse or a tee. Looks so pretty.
Is it possible the sleeves on the hoodie are bigger because it's made to be worn over long sleeve tops/sweaters?
How about rip back some on the sleeve and start decreasing to get to the width you like.
Maybe in blocking the sleeve will be narrower since I've heard this pattern really grows in length. You will inevitably lose width to gain length!
ETA: Watching further in the video, I saw you steam blocked, but maybe a full block will still help, idk 🤷🏻♀️
