I’ve had this phone for half a year, and I must say it’s a very good phone for someone that’s looking for an affordable android. I am very much an apple person, I much prefer apple devices in general but this phone’s performance is overall okay and a great option for your child’s first phone or for someone a bit older that doesn’t want anything new and fancy, but something that’ll get you through a few years easily. How the features are for me: Battery life is out of this world, but some features are quite slow and/or don’t work. I find Snapchat to be very glitchy and TH-cam too but it’s nothing too bad considering it’s a very cheap phone. The Face ID and fingerprint sensor are absolutely amazing and work like a dream but I find them both to be quite glitchy at times. Some games don’t work very well and tend to crash or glitch tremendously, but it’s not the worst that I’ve ever seen. I would strongly recommend this phone as your child’s first phone. Overall I’m impressed with the battery life, back camera (especially close up shots) and speakers but I must say I am definitely looking forward to getting my iPhone SE 2 in a few weeks :)
i have 6gb ram ver with 128gb storage. apple is very expensive for kids. oppo a53 is smooth like butter and fast aswell. recently it got an update to ramp up the ram upto 11gb ram for free by sacrificing your storage. It gives more performance. and it will run android 12 in the future. Apple and oppo a53 are very different.

I hear so many people belittling the cheaper phones, but I love them! For many people, the likes of Samsung & Apple are well out of their reach, so Oppo, Realme, Xiaomi, Motorola etc bringing out budget phones that have similar specs (or better on occasion!) is fabulous, it's the reason I got the Realme 6 Pro that's for sure & it's by far better (in my opinion) than anything Samsung & Apple have ever released.. So bravo & kudos Oppo for this phone, for £169 it's worth it! & having a 90hz screen option is just brilliant! It means most people can now afford a decent phone, long may these phones be released 😊
The A52 is superior and is the same price (actually cheaper as for me it's on sale). It misses out on the 90hz screen but at least it is 1080p, has better cameras, has an ultrawide and has a MUCH better SoC (SDM665 vs SDM460). Apps will load much quicker on the A52 than the A53.
I have this device for 4 years And right now i am writing this comment from this phone. This is the best phone for me and a student like me Even tho my sister brought ger new phone last year which was infinix model and guess what it already start lacking. If you are not a best phone for gaming or you are student like me this device is good but know in market you can get new devices with other specifications

I'm actually stunned that Trump hasn't gone for more Chinese companies. I guess that fact that Oppo, etc aren't invested in mobile infrastructure has saved them for now...
@@TechSpurt Precisely, Xiaomi and Oppo and its puppies are private companies that simply assemble the same thing: a Samsung display and a Sony camera running on a Qualcomm chip in a Corning glass sandwich, which all come from American companies or ones with strong ties with the US, and maybe that keeps them from being banned. Huawei buys none of these stuff, except the Sony sensors and displays from LG who recently stopped selling to Huawei.
I've just bought this phone but need very very basic walk through of using it as my last phone was a Samsung I'd had for over 13 years and was not online so this is ALL new to me.
Without sounding snobby I use a one plus 7t pro and and my lass uses that phone you just reviewed as basic,...trust me compared to other phones at that price point it leaves em alone in the bin 👍👍
I've made up my mind, I'm quite happy with this smart phone and I won't look any further. I'm due for my upgrade and I'll spoil myself with this one, can't wait 👌🏼

Hello. I am a first-time viewer here tho. Oppo A53 Budget phone seems to be quite good for its specs. Currently, I own a Huawei nova 2i for about 2years and 3 months, but recently it started to lag and can't seem to sense my fingerprint on my application......I am considering to buy a budget phone with 2 weeks from now. Loved your review, I don't have it but I am reviewing smartphones as well and taking an extra look at budget smartphones since these days they are getting so much better! Oppo, Xiaomi, Moto, Realme, there are such great options and I'm gonna try to see if I can try them all!
I got the A5 2020 with SD665 and 3gb ram for my 6 year old son for £108 it was some special offer from oppo website, i have to say that for this price its a great phone.

I was choosing between an OPPO phone or Huawei p40... went for the p40 in the end due to its camera(s). Upon starting the phone I immediately realised google has no part in it - I’m gutted 🤦🏻♂️ Owing to certain google apps which I need for work, the new phone’s now useless.. it’s a real shame because the p40 Lite 5G seems an awesome phone
Deat Tech Support, Have just in the past two weeks purchased one of these phones, this model was recommended to me by a tech supplier, I'm still trying to get to grips with it, took me a while to find out how to open & insert the SIM and SD cards, I find having to keep referring to the net to find out things a bit annoying, I am afraid I iz one of the old fashioned bodies who prefer a hard copy to refer to. did the copying data fine, have tried it out receiving a call, that's fine, a stupid question now following, how does one make a call?
