Kissing the Blarney Stone and the Legend Behind It!

- No visit to Ireland is complete without visiting Blarney Castle and kissing the famous and infamous Blarney Stone. By kissing the Blarney Stone, you are supposed to now have the Gift of Eloquence and the Gift of Gab. There are several versions of the legend of how the Blarney Stone got its powers, which I include in the video. I enjoyed the whole experience, including seeing both the exterior and interior of the castle itself, which was built in 1446.

This is rubbish, the castle is on private property, it is closed at night and there are security guards, when its open the stone has a guide beside it at all times.
I wasn't drunk, someone told me that that was the pee in "emergency only" wall. I'm pretty sure he was the security guard. All hopped up on spirits. Good times had by all.
Yes, I kissed it. Twice, in fact. With a hangover. (No change in bulls**t factor) I didn't realise you had to lean out so far! It was a beautiful day, no scaffolding, but there were two wedding parties in the castle grounds. (The couples would be married nearly 25 years by now...) Thank you for posting; your niece is a gas!

The opening was made for archers to lose arrows on people close to the wall this is the famous one of the castle but the openings are all round the castle I'd call it the herpies stone if anything and I'd not touch the let alone kiss it or sit there letting people kiss it

When I went to Ireland I didn't kiss the Blarney stone...but I did hike to the top of the tallest mountain in the country. I just thought it was a much better activity to do in Ireland...but thats just me 😂🍀💚
One of my nieces thought the kissing of the Blarney Stone was too touristy but I really enjoyed the castle itself and the legend behind the kissing of the stone.

If I was going to kiss the Blarney Stone, it would have to wiped with hand sanitizer before I put my mouth on where so many mouths have been. Some people probably slip their tongues to get the gift of gab in their tongues.
It is cleaned between families, if not more frequently. Now they'll likely clean it even more often. You can see the spray bottle of disinfectant beside the guy.

I was on leave in the Army in 68 I went to a pub the night before and after a few drinks with a local he says you seem to be a nice young man so I’ll tell you don’t go and kiss the stone and he said the kids would go up at night and piss on the stone for kicks and get a laugh. So I pass on this knowledge to you and you decide. If I lived there I’d piss on it also. They might have security no but not back then.

It's a very long reach. When I went my wife and I noticed only like 2 out of 10 people actually kissed the blarney stone. My wife and I made sure to kiss the real thing.

It's the easiest way of reaching the spot you're supposed to kiss. You wouldn't be able to reach it if you were facing forward.

This would actually be so they could attack from above. The toilets were inside with a hole at the very bottom of the wall being where the waste ended up. So this is not a toilet for anyone upset. This is still unsanitary since tons of people kissed it
