I started violin with my daughter, which many parents do, and it was a bonding experience that continued for many years. I got as far as book 4, and we played the Bach Double Concerto together at one point, with her surpassing me (the first part of the Bach Double is in Book 5). There are some real prodigies that we ran across. Leila Josefowicz is a year older than our daughter and we met her at our first summer Suzuki institute in San Francisco in 1984. Leila was six years old and she was in Book 6. You can look her up in wiki.

I never experienced poverty when I was little, but my family did not have the money to spend on such an expensive hobby. When we moved abroad as a family, I started taking violin lessons when I was almost 17. I have been taking violin lessons for 3 years, but unfortunately, I cannot give the violin the attention I want due to my busy school and other daily life. I hope that I will be a successful violinist like this little friend in the future and get the chance to join an orchestra. I hope everything will be as you wish in your life, my little friend good luck🍀

advice from a violinist. i suggest if you are a teacher try to fix the bad habits that will mess your students up early on, (wrong bow holds, moving the upper arm, etc.) so they dont stick to those habits when they get older.
