Charlie Benante (ANTHRAX), Scott Ian (ANTHRAX) and Dan Lilker (NUCLEAR ASSAULT, ex-ANTHRAX) have shared a "quarantine version" of the STORMTROOPERS OF DEATH instrumental song "March Of The S.O.D.", recorded with each member separated in their own homes.

Huge Anthrax fan for going on 40 years now...but I think the most metal, most sickest, most heaviest riff is LA FORTUNA from Carl Orlff's CARMINA BURANA(you should instantly recognize it)....but I digress....not trying to be a hater, MARCH OF SOD, but LF makes me ready to charge head first into war

I had a metal show on my college radio station MANY years ago, and this is the song I opened my show with every week.
Was it WTSR 91.3 FM, WSOU 89.5 FM WPRB 103.3 FM? I know it's probably none of those but they had some great shows, Randy "NOW!" Ellis was my employer, and had a dry and morbidly hillarious show on TSR...miss having that element, I'd love to witness a comeback

Funny story about this song:
I work with my family at a mom & pops jewelry store. It was the Christmas rush and the showroom was packed. We had the radio on and my dad came down to help in the showroom and decided to turn the CD changer on which was usually filled with Christmas CDs (this is back in the 90’s). Little did he know that we had this album in the first slot because we were jamming it while setting up the cases that morning. THIS RIFF came on cranked up to 11. My dad said “that’s not Christmas music” while customers looked around confused. One of my favorite memories at work.

Just an EPIC, EPIC bit of bass, guitar, and drum work. They way the drums move the riff to offbeats and then back again. Wow! I was instantly taken in.

I love these guys. Anthrax has always been one of my favorite metal bands. Here I am almost 50 and their still slaying it.

I remember back then I was maybe about 16 years old probably 17 not sure but I was in juvenile doing community service outside of juvie cleaning up and there was this one guy there it was just me and him he was a little bit older than me he told me all so you like metal because I was wearing a heavy metal shirt and he said have you heard of s.o.d. and I was like no so he had me over his headset but which was a Walkman back then and I just heard this and was amazed at the sound of heaviness how that started I went and bought the cassette and that just turned everything for me awesome memories till today now I just recently bought two s.o.d. shirts that I'm wearing happily because those were my years

That was awesome! i've picked up one of Scott's guitar picks at one of the many shows i've seen, I've hung out with Dan when my buddys band opened for Nuclear Assault, and I've seen SOD live in Chicago, Billy sang with a brace or cast on his leg, met Billy at the show, i remember he doesn't like to sign autographs or i would have gotten one.
The whole album was just something that just happened...
There was nothing like it before and there was nothing like it afterwards.

Listened to Persistence of Time and SOD Live at Budokan during first months of quarantine. What an amazing album. Damn I didn’t appreciate it when I was younger.

When my boys were toddlers, i had a 96 f150. I would load them ip and off we would go. I had put in a cassette of SOD in there and never took it out. My boys friggen loved it. Especially “United Forces”. My oldest is 23 now, and called me the other day because he wanted to know if I remembered what the music was that always played in my truck. 😊

It’s a Badass Iconic Riff, that Scott Ian will always be known for writing, but I have to say metallica is still top dog with the most powerful riff and metal song ever written, Fight Fire With Fire, change my mind (I know heavier more brutal songs exist, but FFWF it supercharged and nitromethane fueled!
