    Thanks I was just reading about this procedure! You should get some better audio, the volume is always too low. In most of your videos.

    Howard you are very thorough with explaining. I like this. May I suggest getting a remote mic for your lapel, as sound levels are low. Good sound starts at the source, as you as a technician know. Always grateful for your videos.

      I do use a lapel mic, maybe I just need a better quality mic. Thanks for watching!

    It's good to see you back making videos Howard! Maybe we could have a demonstration of hammer reshaping by hand? I'm about to study this procedure and I won't be using a dremel

    Mr Howard:
    I have a bichord damper that appears to be aligned properly, and seating itself properly to the string, but isn't fully damping the bighorn.
    I tried needling it and adjusting it's height to no avail. It appears seated fully between the strings, and it doesn't feel inordinately hard.
    Do you have any ideas for this situation?

  • @fastfingers110

    what about alignment to the strings ?wouldn't that need to be adjusted as well?

    Thanks for this - but this shows the easy part. Any thoughts about a video showing the regulating of these new dampers, so they meet the strings squarely and firmly?

      Hi Richard,
      I'll put this on my list of future videos and will try and get an opportunity to make a video on damper adjustments. I no longer own an upright piano so I'll have to find an opportunity to do this.

      Hi! I have the same problem, did you find a solution to setup the dampers distances from the strings?

    • @themcool8824
      @themcool8824 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marcditeo7046 No, I'm waiting for howardpiano to upload a vid for us :D It's not the distances per se that are the problem, it's the technique of securely damping every harmonic by setting the felts absolutely squarely on the strings. I've done the operation, but there's got to be an easier way, with a better result.

    I have an Aldrich Sherman Clay upright that I need to replace all the felt on. Do you know where I can get a kit? Is that even an option? I don't know if there are specific differences in the felt. I know some are different thicknesses but they are also different colors. Thanks for the video, very useful!

    • @howardpianoind
      @howardpianoind  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There isn’t really a kit available. You would just need to purchase the different felts that you needed to replace.

    Hey I bought a stores and Clark piano the other day and I can't find parts for it for some reason can anybody help

    • @howardpianoind
      @howardpianoind  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Story & Clark use fairly standard parts. For most pianos, brand specific parts aren’t available.
