August 2022 - Why is bee management so imprecise? It may not be what it appears.

Why is is so difficult to answer simple management and biological questions about honey bees? I am supposing that one of the primary reasons is that we are still very much in the elementary learning phase of bee behavior and bee biology. Yes, we know a lot more than we did, but still are far, far from having the technology and working knowledge to begin to truly understand bees or any other such organism. We're getting there - just give us a few centuries.

You make a great point. And how about the precision of their temp control of both the colony in summer and the queen ball in winter? Or how they manage food reserves?Or how they manage staffing within the colony to address so many variables? It truly is mind boggling. Excellent video discussion; can’t wait to read the article.
