Warm lemon water! Yum! Seriously that is one of the things that has helped my digestive issues(such as reflux) so much. In the morning on an empty stomach. Sometimes I do the same at night before bed.
I know this was posted years ago, but thanks for this video!! one of the easiest to follow hooping videos I've seen that actually breaks down the movements and explaining the benefits of where it targets as far as digestive health is concerned.
I had my gall bladder out 4 years ago and have a had a slow digestive system ever since. Never had a problem before. Hula hooping definitely helps that area that she was talking about.
Me too! I have a knee replacement and I cannot put one foot forward or it really hurts. I can now do it with my feet side-by-side, about a foot and a half apart. I use a 1-inch PVC hoop for extra weight and because it is easier!
OMG Thank you! I'm a new hooper and could not for the life of me keep my hoop up and it was because I wasn't tucking my tail bone. So thank you thank you thank you! :-D
this tutorial has been really helpful, thank you! I recently purchased a weighted hoop from Gold Gym and the video that came with it just got right into hooping. It didn't really break it down for beginners in my opinion. Your instructions help me to actually keep the hoop going some. I know with practice I will get better. Before watching your video I was all set to return this thing..so thank you again. God bless.
Increase your hoop size! Find one that reaches your breastbone. Try practicing once a day for 10-15 minutes. If you feel comfortable using a blindfold, do so. That way, you're mostly relying on the feeling of the hoop rather than watching it and straining to keep it up. You are helping your body find the hoop's rhythm even if it drops repeatedly. Hooping for such a short time limits frustration and encourages small successes so that you feel better about the process. Let us know how it goes!
Hi there, Have you tried using a larger hoop of at least 40" in diameter? Try a larger hoop and use a blindfold when you practice so that your body can find the rhythm as opposed to forcing your brain to figure it out. Blindfolded hooping is really great for acquiring the motor skills necessary for keeping the hoop going the waist!
i finally figured it out! i have some replaced parts in my knee so i had to compensate for the lack of movement i could do with my one leg... i tried everything including blindfolding... it was a matter of a different stance so my one leg could take care of the balance. it was weird.
Hi! No, you're not doing it wrong. My primary "current" for hooping is to the right as well. Also, you'll find many more ways to dance with your hoop if you can hoop to the left and the right!
Fantastic! That is great! What worked? Did you get a larger hoop or use a blindfold or keep at it for shorter periods of time or was it something else?
no matter what i do i can not keep my hoop up... its kinda embaressing cus i can do escalators, passing, isolations.... but waist hooping is a no go... i have changed hoop sizes, practiced posture, prayed, lol swore id give up cheese.... still a no go.... and it would be excellent if i could figure it out cus i have ibs... help?
Yes! That's exactly why your hoop won't stay up! In the beginning, you'll find much more success if you start with a hoop that reaches your belly button or a couple inches higher. Best of luck to you!
I didn´t get a larger hoop, but I used a blindfold. I was practicing (about 15 minutes a day) during my favourite song and suddenly I realized I was hooping :D It´s not perfect, I don´t look like dancing hottie, but like a whale in labor, however I believe I work it out :)
I really like your presentation. I like it better than the hoopnotica Intro DVD. Thanks for posting
What a great teaching style. I really liked *seeing* the problems that new hoopers do because I am a new hooper and am not "getting" it.
thanks a lot my seven year daughter learn to hoop from your helpful video

Hi! So finally I figured out how to do it :D I´m so happy! :D
You're awesome! I really want to get into this hula hoopin lol! Is there a certain kind of hula hoop to get?
Start with a large adult-sized hoop that will reach the tip of your sternum (breastbone) when it's standing on it's side.
no matter what i do i can not keep my hoop up... its kinda embaressing cus i can do escalators, passing, isolations.... but waist hooping is a no go... i have changed hoop sizes, practiced posture, prayed, lol swore id give up cheese.... still a no go.... and it would be excellent if i could figure it out cus i have ibs... help?

You are not broken!!
everyone seems to hoop counter clockwise and I like to go clockwise, is there a difference?
Hooping in the direction you feel most comfortable in is best. There aren't any rules about it. Enjoy!
