How does one steal the pace car, you’d think that it’d be one of the most protected cars on the track. 🤷🏽♂️🤣
aight, so, since no one's replied to you in over a year, here's the story: The yokel who nicked the pace car was drunk. Like, piiiiiisss drunk. Security wasn't as tight back then, so he was gleefully stumbling around inside the track, near where they had the pace cars parked. I guess they looked real pretty to him, cuz he hopped in one and headed out onto the track. Of course, people noticed right away, but no one was quick enough on opening the car door. So ensued the events you saw in the clip- they called for police, set up a blockade, dragged the drunk yokel out, and slapped some cuffs on him. Drunk tank was the ultimate outcome, I believe (possibly with a ban from NASCAR events, too).
