New here, youtube just suggested this video to me. First off, I know and completely understand that Australian winters are during my summers here in the US. But to see you in local summer attire (jeans and a tshirt) while harvesting, instead of the 12 inches of snow and multiple layers of clothing, is still mind blowing. 😂 As a new gardener who is still struggling, I'll stick around and see what you can produce during your summer. Have a great day!
Hi Joshua, thanks for subscribing! Yes we get very mild winters here in Brisbane Australia. But we get brutal summers with high humidity and not much will grow in the garden at that time of year. That’s why I make the most of growing in Winter and Spring and Autumn! 🙂👋
@@risslittleveggiepatch I have a 32 acre homestead in Tennessee, My garden is getting bigger and bigger! To the point I needed To purchase farming attachments for my ATV… I grow about 500 to 1000 pounds of potatoes every season.. Not to mention a variety of other vegetables.. Everything is heirloom 100% organic no pesticide…!
Here's what I used to do in Sydney when growing potatoes: Instead of planting a whole potato, just cut off a small section of the spud (or even just the skin with an "eye") which has an "eye", and plant that instead. You'll still get full-size potatoes when they mature.
Someone else commented that they grow potatoes from skins! That’s incredible! Are they a decent size? I’ll have to give this a go! Thanks for the tip! ☺️🥔🥔🥔

It was nice to see you barefoot in Nature. Our feet and soles love that freedom. They love to feel various textures of soil between their toes. Hope you're always barefoot whenever you're in Nature . If not keep it up.
I agree! I’m barefoot 90% of the time. I grew up in the country and was always running around barefoot. It feels unnatural to be wearing shoes in the backyard! 🙂

It sure is! I get so much excitement from seeding a seed sprout! I think that’s my favourite part! And harvesting the final product! ☺️

@@risslittleveggiepatch nice to know that. When you're barefoot every step you take is a new experience.
To grow big potatoes you gotta plant big potatoes.
I’ve never heard that before. I planted tiny potatoes that grew into decent sized potatoes. It’s think it’s all about the variety and your climate.
Peas goes to seeds? I thought the peas are the seeds.
I meant they will stop producing peas if you picking them as the plant thinks it’s done its job.
