The economy isn't perfect and inflation is definitely an issue but the US has handled it better than most countries. Now, inflation is mostly greedy corporations price gouging consumers while making record profits. Candidates normally have to break down their policies during the primaries, which are what the primary debates (before the general debates) are based on. Doing it isn't a bad strategy especially less than 100 days from election day (unless you have media support). It's necessary for the American citizens and the other candidates.
