@@KingXavi0323 Yeah Hondas CVT is really good and so is Toyotas because they have an actual 1st gear. I have a 2018 accord 1.5t and it simulates shifts even at partial throttle which I like. It also gets unbelievable gas mileage.

I have the 2020 version of the 1.5 LX and it 100% makes a difference with eco mode off. I average 7.3 to 7.6 seconds from 0 to 60. Fun car to drive for a non luxury, base mid-sized sedan.

I know people dont like the CVT me included. But it is not only more efficient it can make underpowered engines that good gas mileage driveable. I had few rentals with a cvt and sent you gst into the throttle you are already in a ratio that is in the poweband. When done correctly they are lightdr, more efficient and get you into the powerband quickly. The nissan Maxima is a good example. They are not slow and they use a chain vs a belt. CVT transmissions are not like the past they have finally figured them out the majority of the early issues were cooling, pullies being too far apart and tuning.
@@victorhernandez-nj2xxdo you use 90+ octane fuel or 87 as recommended? I’m a safe driver I don’t abuse cars and rarely push over 2500 rpm’s, but as a 2023 lx owner I’m tryna maximize this engine and avoid all the gasket issues
@dougpederson5625 87, I follow the dashboard warnings about maintenance, and I don't drive like a race driver. The only time I push the car is when I drive the highway. (80mph-90mph)..

While Carlos Ghosn was bullish on the pathetic 2.7 at Ford, it simply doesn't change the fact that you really want to drop a metric ton of horsepower or a monster motor on an economy car with a favorable transmission because big units are only limited by their transmissions. The formula for speed hasn't changed since the invention of the combustion engine, ever!

The run I felt was slightly uphill and I forgot to put the windows down and I had the traction control on but still not to bad.
This car isn’t even that fast. My 2010 Toyota Camry LE 2.5L 6A with 169hp is slightly faster off the line. This CVT makes this car so much slower. My Camry has a 6 speed automatic and it’s faster than this accord and I don’t even need a turbo to beat this. I can top my Camry to 120mph.

A tune makes a huge difference. I have an '09 TSX which is basically an accord. Got exhaust mode and tune took my 0-60 down by a whole second

Exactly, I have the 1.5t, 81K miles, no problems yet. Regular maintenance and oil change every 3k-5k miles.

Turbo didn’t spool up yet. I’ve got a 2020 1.5 and came from an 07 V6 Accord and I can tell you once it gets in boost it pulls hard.
