Anorexia and obesity aren't tf he same thing (trust me I'm against obesity too I just feel this needs clarification). Anorexia is NOT determined by weight, its determined by mindset and actions. Obesity is based on weight. The equivalents of obese is underweight, while the equivalent of anorexia is binge eating disorder in this context. There can be fat people with anorexia. @@ladyj5693 bulimia and anorexia arent the only eating disorders. Personally I've dealt with ednos and theres binge eating disorder. Also anorexia doesnt have to be long term. Anorexia is not just starving yourself, tho that always happens, but sometimes people fail at it and end up binging at night or only eating unhealthy things. Yes you lose weight but not drastically most of the time. Trust me, I've had family members deal with it, I've discussed it with my therapist, and I used to have diagnosed anorexia and ednos. And I've talked to multiple doctors about it

I have a thyroid problem it makes me gain weight so I eat less and healthy and work out because if I don't my weight will get out of control and I will put my health in danger. so I lost 15 pounds and I'm proud of myself. getting my weight under control has helped fix my thyroid I'm getting better.

I am overweight, not obese and even I have been trying lose a bunch of weight and right now I have lost 40 pounds and I am trying to lose at least 100 pounds and I see people saying to "Accept fat people" and it disgusts me because I am trying to lose that weight and I feel happier with the weight I have lost and for that I am proud of myself.
I am also in the overweight range by BMI (some of that is muscle weight) There's a big difference between being merely overweight and recognising that you need to lose some and those who are morbidly obese and appear proud of it
That German ad was a thing of beauty I even put on a German Accent and Made my own Voice Over Narration to it. Edit: 2 months later and I'm 55 pounds down now! 10 more to go :) Edit: I just got called skinny today and it's the best compliment Ive ever recieved! Yeah fat shaming sucks and it led me to an eating disorder. When the whole body positive movement came out I was really hopeful because I thought it would help young girls like me learn healthy habits but it disappointed me instead it’s just filled with morbidly obese women who are trying to force people see them as some standard of beauty
Recommendation, try swimming or skip/jump rope first, less impact on the knees. Besides, swimming also motivates you, not sure about everyone else but I swim once a week (along with bodyweight training one day, weight lifting one day, skip rope 2-3 days, 4-10kg weighted backpack 10000-15000 steps training for one day. So in total I would exercise anywhere between 4-7 days a week), it makes me self conscious how I look, so I always try my best to slim down a bit more before I go the next time by working harder this week. Furthermore, it also low key develops your self confidence regarding your body, and it'll only increase as your body looks better.
thanks for the recommendation!! i love swimming, but i've never done it as like a hobby or with the intention of exercising. i'll look into trying to incorporate it with my routine, it usually doesn't take much to convince me to go swimming so i'm positive that motivation won't be an issue. you seem to work out a lot, so thank you for the advice :) and boosting body confidence is always a definite plus :D

I was diagnosed with cancer back in 2019. Went through the whole chemo, radiation, and subsequent surgery to remove a lot of “bad stuff”! I lost close to 100lbs. I used to get straight up comments from “healthy” fat people that was blatantly shaming me for being skinny and “healthy”. What a pathetic country we live in! 🤦🏻♂️

I'm overweight and trying to loose it. My old depression medication and the start of the quarantine made me gain 50 pounds over 5-6 months. I didn't do anything for a bit other then cut back my food intake. I did loose weight but not enough. I'm currently doing physical therapy for my chest and plan to continue my work at the gym later.

I mean, it's quite easy losing weight when you focus all your time on that; being able to go to the gym without worrying about work, etc, etc. And I would know. That ad was a great ad. That ad was moving and proved a point like it generally gave me cold chills from watching it and seeing this kid proved everyone wrong even when his family and town laughed and didn’t believe in him and then he did it and got what he finally wanted. That ad should be shown more because it had a powerful meaning.
I’m looking at this in the shoes of a overweight person and I can see see how they FEEL it’s fat shaming. They feel offended because it’s making it out to be like being fat is a bad life. And when the kid loses weight and all the overweight people look at him it seems like the ad is saying a person at a healthy weight is BETTER than someone overweight. So this commercial is basically giving them negative feelings and making them feel that they aren’t living a correct life and aren’t as good as healthy person . So was the commercial was made for those reasons? Doubt it. But I could see it from both sides. I don’t think it’s fat shaming but I can understand why someone overweight would think so and can understand it might make them feel bad about themselves.

I am overweight, not obese and even I have been trying lose a bunch of weight and right now I have lost 40 pounds and I am trying to lose at least 100 pounds and I see people saying to "Accept fat people" and it disgusts me because I am trying to lose that weight and I feel happier with the weight I have lost and for that I am proud of myself.

Recommendation, try swimming or skip/jump rope first, less impact on the knees. Besides, swimming also motivates you, not sure about everyone else but I swim once a week (along with bodyweight training one day, weight lifting one day, skip rope 2-3 days, 4-10kg weighted backpack 10000-15000 steps training for one day. So in total I would exercise anywhere between 4-7 days a week), it makes me self conscious how I look, so I always try my best to slim down a bit more before I go the next time by working harder this week. Furthermore, it also low key develops your self confidence regarding your body, and it'll only increase as your body looks better.
thanks for the recommendation!! i love swimming, but i've never done it as like a hobby or with the intention of exercising. i'll look into trying to incorporate it with my routine, it usually doesn't take much to convince me to go swimming so i'm positive that motivation won't be an issue. you seem to work out a lot, so thank you for the advice :) and boosting body confidence is always a definite plus :D

I'm overweight and trying to loose it. My old depression medication and the start of the quarantine made me gain 50 pounds over 5-6 months. I didn't do anything for a bit other then cut back my food intake. I did loose weight but not enough. I'm currently doing physical therapy for my chest and plan to continue my work at the gym later.

That ad was a great ad. That ad was moving and proved a point like it generally gave me cold chills from watching it and seeing this kid proved everyone wrong even when his family and town laughed and didn’t believe in him and then he did it and got what he finally wanted. That ad should be shown more because it had a powerful meaning.

I don't know for sure what this ad was for, but it has a deep meaning to it. One of the most beautiful ads I've ever seen actually.

I’m looking at this in the shoes of a overweight person and I can see see how they FEEL it’s fat shaming. They feel offended because it’s making it out to be like being fat is a bad life. And when the kid loses weight and all the overweight people look at him it seems like the ad is saying a person at a healthy weight is BETTER than someone overweight. So this commercial is basically giving them negative feelings and making them feel that they aren’t living a correct life and aren’t as good as healthy person . So was the commercial was made for those reasons? Doubt it. But I could see it from both sides. I don’t think it’s fat shaming but I can understand why someone overweight would think so and can understand it might make them feel bad about themselves.

Obese and fat people can only benefit from at least trying to get thinner, there's been multiple proofs that it's possible for the vast majority of people, yet a good amount of fat people try to find themselves excuses. I think ads like these are good for people to see, but then again society has been promoting mediocrity and unhealthy behaviour for a while so I understand why they would censor it. I'd rather watch this than some ad with overweight models that promotes killing yourself by ignoring your problems.
