Michigan rain soaks right into your skin & those leggings must have weighed like 10 pounds by the end of the round. And day two was even worse being sick with nothing covering your legs & a sweater too thin to actually protect from the wind. I just wanted to add my two cents, I have been playing my entire life( since 9 in 1956) and have recently found two things that added distance to my tee shots. I know the kick point on my driver has stabilized my consistency in contact. That's an easy request of any clubmaker. I'm at mid kickppint at 75. I also tried employing a more single plane set prior to my take back off the tee. I have employed a tilt so left shoulder is raised higher than right and I lift my grip end of club up toward my belt buckle just before takeaway(kind of part of a pre shot routine) so when I pass through the hitting area everything is cleared out. I noticed Scott Sheflflee doesn't hit a draw and has consistent distance straight off the tee.

Excellent video Gabby! As I have been saying for a year, You have tremendous media skills. These kind of tournaments are great for you & playing with great players will help you improve your own game!
I usually don't comment. I have been a touring professional after retiring from a short professional baseball career. I learned from my coach who played on tour for 14 years that you have to play with the same "spirit " and same mentality as you do when you post your best scores. Tournament golf inherently makes that difficult, but its possible if you learn what your breathing is during your best rounds. I don't want to advertise anything so I'll just say that Jordan Spieth advertises for the product. I love how relaxed your body is through impact and beyond. I know you had to learn that! Play the shot that is called for. Don't play safe, and want to make the 10-15 footers more! Want it as much as you want the 4 footer for par. Its hard to give you all the things I have learned. Surround yourself with great players.
Such a huge challenge to set yourself and such an amazing effort in such difficult conditions. Your attitude and talent are incredible! Well done and best of luck for the next tournament.
Def recommend having another caddie. He’s almost too honest with you and there’s times a caddie needs to lift you up and make you believe you can hit a great recovery shot instead of doubling down when you hit a bad shot 😢 You normally do an exceptionally great job of encouraging yourself after mishits but it doesn’t help when your caddie is over your shoulder saying “oh no” or “you rushed it” when you miss a 3 footer. 😔
Especially in a pro tourny. Had this just been a regular round thats different he can coach her all he wants. A tournament is no time to start coaching or tell you have messed up or did something wrong.
Just like tiger and his kid, dads can’t caddie for their son/daughter as per PGA/lpga rules. So I recon, she’ll get a new caddie when/if she makes it on tour
I totally agree with you. As a father to an athletic son, I see myself in Gabby's dad. I look back now and am embarrassed at how I was overly critical of my son in sports. Sometimes we live out our own dreams in our kids and put too much pressure on them or seem to take it personally if they fall down or fail. I wish I could do it over again. I hope he can watch the video and see
Poor girl, how can you be so into golf and not own rain gear??? There has to be a golf shop or Dicks Sporting Goods store within 20 miles of your hotel.
I made my 1st comment after the first round. After watching the trials and tribulations after the rain stoppage. You wouldn't have made it without him😢 Thats a huge step and it wasn't really that bad at all you'd SMOKE me lmao. The best thing about this experience is getting your feet wet and I guarantee you'll get better and better as the nerves dissappear and you just play golf.......big fan gabby you're an amazing girl.......to the moon🚀
Good job!! I feel for your pops when I am playing with my son. My only advice for him would be limiting the talk once you address the ball…I bet you both really enjoyed that experience!! Keep getting those birdies!
At first I thought you should have W/D before the 2nd round. But when I found out you were grinding it out largely because of the young fan that had traveled to follow you, your courage kind of brought a little tear to my eye. What an example to her, me and others. Thanks Gabby!
I admire your perseverance to continue on to finish what you started. I don't know anyone would have faulted you for not even going out that last day. I could feel your pain of wanting to go on but your body just wouldn't let you. Great job in your first big tournament. I'm sure there will be lots to come.
I was glad to see you fishing. I enjoyed watching you with the fish. There’s going to be a lot of tournaments in your future. It was good to see your dad with you. As long as you do your best. I will always be cheering for you. All the best Gabby ❤
Great job and great effort. Take this as a learning experience. Your positivity is your strength, keep it up. I think your dad did a great job of pushing when needed, but not sugarcoating everything.
I’ve played against the other player in your group, Gabby Lemieux, in Native American tournaments. I even accidentally took her range balls once. She’s a super nice person
Great experience at such a young age! Good job. It's all good learning. Some lessons learned surely are: - bring rain gear 😅 - don't leave the first putts short - your driving distance is just fine - your shot making is good enough
It is actually so cool to hear the conversations you have with your caddy, and it’s even cooler when it’s your pa. Keep grinding! I’m a new golfer so it’s fun to watch a young person grow in the game while I’m trying to figure out mine 🙏🏾
Wow what a man.my all time favorite. The passion and love of the game is unreal. He blessed the great city of Detroit for many years. He deserves it all. God bless him
@@rickwalden7755 it’s not her fault she was born into a wealthy family. Her and, definitely, her parents probably work really hard so she can pursue anything she wants. Being mad that you weren’t born rich is pathetic
There were 20 other players who shot 75 or worse on day 1 of this tournament. You should be really proud of that effort. Lots of good stuff to build on. You're still just a kid, but your positive attitude will serve you will throughout life. Glad you're feeling better!
Gabby I dont know any professional or top amateur that doesnt carry Raingear in their bag. What was your reasoning for not having it? You need to play/practice in the rain/wind/cold to be better prepared for these type of conditions. Im rooting for you
To make it in the pro world u have to be tough, resilient and mentally strong. You can have all the ability in the world but means nothing unless you are a fighter. She needs to learn the tricks of the trade playing her own age and slowly compete against adults when she mature enough.
Being cold and wet for 2 days is miserable....then you get sick. Thats suuuuuucks. Now every experience will be better, tho and you can always say....at least it isnt as bad as that first tournament i played in Michigan. It took guts to even go out there that last day. Im sure the girl who came to see you will remember how hard you fought and it will inspire her. You are tough beyond your years. Keep on truckin' Gabs. Cheers!
In a tournament setting though, isn’t it a bit overkill? She even says herself about how much positive affirmation in all her other videos serves her well. The tone was much different in this, not just the difficulty and the tournament setting, condition, but the critical nature and over analyzing during the round can rattle someone. Simpler is better. On the range and in other rounds, sure, but not in this tournament. Awesome to see Gabby competing professionally, sticking it out, and she will have many more rounds. Great learning experience. Stay positive.
You have a cool channel to watch and you are very cool.. I’m a lousy golfer but learning from watching this video…I was a competitive tennis player when I was 18 and wanted to be a professional tennis player when I was young…your competitive nature for golf that is ingrained in your being I can definitely relate to…
I know your dad has done a great job but unless that was a trickery of editing. Id want my caddy not to be putting conflicting thoughts in my mind while im standing over a shot or putt.
Awesome Gabby! Watching with my daughters - 5, 4, and 1 (okay the baby is napping) - but they love your videos. Congrats and keeping making awesome family-friendly content!
Great job! You showed tremendous courage and tenacity. In the Army we called it ‘sticktoitiveness’. As good as you are and as grounded is a testament to your parents. Kudos to all. I love watching you grow and especially enjoy the family dynamics when you show them.
Pops need to caddy when it’s time to caddy and coach when it’s time to coach. Play the day with the game you got don’t go working on swing thoughts/changes in the middle of a round. Kills confidence and brings in doubt.
That was my exact thought. She was out of her comfort zone and kinda just folded. Love her channel and I’m not being negative but it seemed like she was not having fun at all during her first round.
@@Voodoo.Voodooshe’s a lovely girl, but to be honest, I don’t think she has what it takes to make it in pro golf. A social media career seems like her best bet and she’ll be very successful at that.
Big props to you going out there on that type of stage & gutting it out for as long as you did being sick. Hope you get another opportunity. You should definitely be proud though! You also hit some really great shots
You learn from every round. I don't know but I felt that dad was fine as caddie. He seemed reassuring and was making good calls. It was also great to see you grind it out the way you did Gabby. When you get sick and have little sleep, it's impossible to have a good mental game as well as a good physical game. I commened you on trying to tuff it out like you did. Stay positive and reassured that you'll do a lot better next time Gabby with a loving dad at your side. You can do it Gabby. Get back on the horse.
Saw the 'first pro tournament' title and had to watch - felt almost a privilege to do so. You are at the bottom of a big learning curve, but I thought you played and talked really well - your swing and ballstriking looked really solid day 1, shame about the last. Playing well but the putter was in the fridge is a familiar tale for every golfer. Don't suppose there's much demand for thermals and waterproofs in Florida, but they might be a solid investment now. Your dad did great, kept you calm and together you got most of the calls right. Keep working & learning
the grit and determination you showed is truly... amazing! having the flu and fighting as far as you did go to show how well you will do when you are at 100% keep up the work and great things will happen! love watching you grow!! 😀
Dad has soo much nervious energy its incredible, in the first round he tried to take over her process, he made her analize herself even over putts, "more weight in the front foot"he never let her find her flow even though she struck the ball extremely well, his instrucions were not concise but confusing, " just a nice swing here, not a jittery one" there was no positive energy at all. I saw at least 2 putts, gabby had the line, dad miss read it and gabby missed.I bet dad is not a golfer himself, i would bet on it. For the love of god, second round dad could not have maybe taken precaution and forseen the possibility there could be some rain and maybe taken her to buy waterproofs, poor girl was playing in a hoodie, soaking up the rain, this infuriated me , did he actually just say " ive never been so uncomfortable in my life" why? Cause it was raining? Really?poor girl was shaking. This really infuriated me this video.
Agree with all that you said. It was good for me to watch and learn not what to do with my kids when I'm teaching them. But... Gabby's Dad will no doubtably watch this video and he will learn from it as well. I'm sure he will do better next time.
Too many people complaining about dad…this exactly what I expect from an athlete’s parent of her caliber. Very few will understand. If she had a problem with it she wouldn’t have released the video.
Correct response. None of these idiots know the first thing about caddying, nor coaching a young athlete of her ability. Yet they are all very quick to open their pie holes and offer criticism..
Nah this is ridiculous. Dad was being daddy and not caddie. Too much micro managing, too much focus on the inconsequential details. Lots of missed opportunities to build her confidence or be thinking about and taking care of the things she can’t. If you’re serious about golf, you get your parents off the bag!
My dad has coached me on my swing since I’m 5… I actually ASK him to push me all the time. He motivates me every day and knows exactly what he’s talking about when it comes to my game. So grateful to have this opportunity with my dad on the bag!

Keep your head up Gabby YOU ARE A LEGEND . KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK IT WILL PAY OFF 👍
you have a lifetime of upcoming tounaments. you gave it your all. chin up. go get 'em in the next one.
@Ilovetocheer139have some respect you snub
@Ilovetocheer139ur such a creep I’ve seen ur comments you oughta be ashamed of yourself
This is some of the best golf I have ever seen you do. Well done... Just an observer information do as you wish. You and your Dad are a good team, I like how he slowed your game down and kept you grounded. Good job both of you.
Love the daughter dad teamwork. Your future is bright with the support system you have.
Hi from Melbourne.. Australia...I have literally never enjoyed watching anything more...it was gripping and an amazing insight ..you have made me a huge fan...I hope you continue to show these types of videos...it was amazing seeing your tactics and the way you dealt with the pressure of each moment...I can't wait to follow your journey and if u get to Australia will come watch u play...
Congratulations on your first pro tournament. Even though you couldn't finish it was a tremendous experience. Having your dad as your coach/caddie is amazing. You are an inspiration to all. Keep up the great golf and I'm sure you'll be making the cut soon enough!
Excellent video Gabby! As I have been saying for a year, You have tremendous media skills. These kind of tournaments are great for you & playing with great players will help you improve your own game!
Thank you!!
Gabby, I so much enjoyed the video. So sorry you got ill, I’m so impressed how long you continued feeling the way you did. Very strong
Not really good
Loved this video, fun to watch. Good luck with your career, rooting for you!
rain gear. I play in WA, you have to have rain gear it makes a huge difference
Such a huge challenge to set yourself and such an amazing effort in such difficult conditions. Your attitude and talent are incredible! Well done and best of luck for the next tournament.
Def recommend having another caddie. He’s almost too honest with you and there’s times a caddie needs to lift you up and make you believe you can hit a great recovery shot instead of doubling down when you hit a bad shot 😢
You normally do an exceptionally great job of encouraging yourself after mishits but it doesn’t help when your caddie is over your shoulder saying “oh no” or “you rushed it” when you miss a 3 footer.
I hope he can watch the video and see
100%
Poor girl, how can you be so into golf and not own rain gear??? There has to be a golf shop or Dicks Sporting Goods store within 20 miles of your hotel.
It's Just a game.... You're awesome and we love watching your progress! Keep doing what your doing!
Time for dad to step aside and be a spectator.Looking a lot like Lonzo Ball of the nba.
First day watching golf? It’s literally what caddies do
I made my 1st comment after the first round.
I'm proud of you Gabby. You pushed yourself to the limits.
🙏🙏
Gabby, you're a real warrior. I can't believe you made as far as you did, being as sick as you were. You're awesome!
Starting of with a fishing contest and then golf!! Already the video of the week! Too bad for the sickness... You held up sooo well!!
Way to Grind it out Gabby....Get yourself some rain gear ASAP!
Great seeing both of you together. Watching this with my 5 yr old son and he said he wants me to caddie for him.
I’ve played against the other player in your group, Gabby Lemieux, in Native American tournaments. I even accidentally took her range balls once. She’s a super nice person
Great experience at such a young age! Good job. It's all good learning.
Some lessons learned surely are:
- bring rain gear 😅
- don't leave the first putts short
- your driving distance is just fine
- your shot making is good enough
Your character, tenacity, and positivity is a win in anyone's book. Go Gabby!
Really enjoyed this! Looking forward to the next one!
Dad 1 question? Why didn’t you stop at the pro shop and buy her a rain suit after the first day or even before the second round????????
I wish I could have just one more 18 with my dad ! What a blessing you have to enjoy! Great job team!
It is actually so cool to hear the conversations you have with your caddy, and it’s even cooler when it’s your pa. Keep grinding! I’m a new golfer so it’s fun to watch a young person grow in the game while I’m trying to figure out mine 🙏🏾
🙏🙏
One spoiled little country club baby. She has no idea what pressure is. Pressure is having 3 kids working and trying to pay your mortage
@Nendo249 She's an average player. Nothing more nothing less.
Good job Gabby! YOU put it all out there and I am so excited to see what you do next! Glad you are feeling better, the flu is terrible! XO
Dad daughter event. So awesome. I have a fab daughter too.
Really good positivity even after bad shot great young player 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Being cold and wet for 2 days is miserable....then you get sick. Thats suuuuuucks. Now every experience will be better, tho and you can always say....at least it isnt as bad as that first tournament i played in Michigan. It took guts to even go out there that last day. Im sure the girl who came to see you will remember how hard you fought and it will inspire her.
You are tough beyond your years. Keep on truckin' Gabs. Cheers!
That was the most hectic morning of fishing I've ever seen 😂😂
Really appreciate the way your dad talks to you, reassuring but also critical of what you’re doing poorly
IMUA Gabby! You gave 100% under challenging circumstances. The experience will be most valuable indeed!
How do you not buy rain gear ahead of time when you know it's very likely to rain???
At least she’ll be well prepared if she starts playing the🇬🇧 Open
My thoughts exactly. Especially after day one when every other girl had the gear and you didn’t.
No wet weather clothing,in a professional tournament, is amateurish.
Rain gear isn’t stopping the flu.. that’s not how it works ..smh rekax
I must preface that I am high .. I saw +4 after a bunch of holes and thought that was her score for the hole 😂😂😂
Congrats and keeping making awesome family-friendly content!
time to invest in a rain suit, great first experience you did great.
I agree
there is something about showing the true reality, that means speaks volumes these days. mad respect for not editing out the lows
There Will be a lot more to come.
I thought your dad did an outstanding job saying enough without saying to much. You have quite a future ahead of you
No rain gear ? Can't play golf in Florida all the time.😅
That was my exact thought.
Gabby when your parents named you gabby ❤they nailed it because you are so good at talking and everything else you do 🎉
Have a different caddy. Not family you would do so much better
Congrats I love you Gaby
the grit and determination you showed is truly... amazing! having the flu and fighting as far as you did go to show how well you will do when you are at 100% keep up the work and great things will happen! love watching you grow!!
@@adamutuberthank you! there's no way he's a decent golfer.
Enjoyed this video and proud of your effort. Great learning experience and you’re so much better for it👏🥃
Too many people complaining about dad…this exactly what I expect from an athlete’s parent of her caliber.
@andrewjohnston7129 yes -- you know sooooooo much about caddying and managing a young player of her ability. Idiot.
Go Girl! A proud Dad....
