      Careful with the chivalry part. Its origin is in the late medieval period, where its intention was to ridicule Christian sexual morality. Or ridicule weak men who compensated by pedestalizing women. The more painful it was for a man to court another man's wife, the more dirt and humiliation he went through, the more chivalrous he was considered to be in these stories.

    I honestly felt somewhat of a pang of shame and disappointment when he mentioned that you may find out that the husband spent 5 years in prison for homicide. I did. I did 6 years actually, for manslaughter. I was intoxicated and on drugs, and 19, and I was hit first and I blacked out. I called 911 and tried to save them.
    I made up my mind to give my life to God ever since. I’ve studied all faiths for 12 years and I, although already being baptized Catholic, am not yet confirmed, but will be in 2020. I went to my first confession Nov 2, and I am truly trying to be a saint.
    I understand that the context likely was in the case of a murderer or something, or maybe not. I don’t know.
    Either way, the video was great.
    God bless

      Patricia, unfortunately how many people when young even if they had listened to such advice would have heeded it. Hindsight is always 20/20. It's easy to beat ourselves up, but we must remember it's the devil that likes to beat us up and send us into despair. A lot of us, including myself need to move away from the past. I could have, should have.....doesn't really solve anything.

    Father, I’m on plan Q 😛 Can’t get married when no one is interested, especially as a woman. I’ve never wanted or felt called to anything other than marriage, the idea of dying alone, neither husband nor children, terrifies me, but if no man is interested, there’s not a thing I can do about it. I’m a woman-initiating anything is off the table, and at 35, men who CAN form holy, healthy marriages already HAVE, often a decade ago.

I have had some opportunities to marry but I'm glad I didn't marry any one of those men as it turned out God was truly protecting me. However no good Catholic man ever presented himself to me that was marriage material. The ones that I did know that I would have thought would have been good marriage candidates we're not at all interested in me for whatever reason. And I did focus on making myself a good candidate for marriage. Now at 56 I can't see getting married and I'm not pursuing it. If God wants it to happen he will have to drop the man into my lap literally.

    All you who write comments that you missed out, that at 35 you want marriage but you can find no one. Well, the time we live in is especially difficult to find someone. But did you hear this priest about Plan B? It may be you, many of us, must live a single life and do the work of God that this sinful world so very much needs. Afraid to age and be alone? Imagine you do marry but your husband dies early and there you are. Alone is tough but there still is Plan B. Calmly, in God's grace, working with people, and helping people, and making friends who become your family. Called to marriage but can't find anyone? Continue socializing only with committed Catholics. Get to know that guy you may be overlooking. If time passes and you still cannot find someone, the world is in desperate need of workers in his vineyard.

    • @sheilatuano9633
      @sheilatuano9633 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Michael W, agree with you. It is now very difficult to find a committed Catholic for a husband because most are already taken. God must have other plans for those Catholics in Blessed Singleness like myself. The world has already let loose false information and blurred that demarcation line between the truth and lies and many people are confused. What was clearly sinful and bad are now sugar-coated with justifications and half-truths, and many people have fallen from grace.
      Adultery, for example, seemed a prevalent norm in groups of men with a machismo mentality. My own father committed Adultery, such a grievous sin that my mother suffered so much, the sadness and despair I see in her eyes and her mental breakdown is so hard to witness as a child that even when I reached adulthood, it placed an indelible mark in my heart. My mother died of an illness in 2016. I will now stop going into details, but to cut the story short, I forgive him for my own peace of mind, but I may never forget, and it is really hard to forget because the fruits of his sins are there constantly present. He is now a very old man, kept some legal matters like real estate, etc., to himself, that I wonder what situation we will be in, his children, during his funeral? I pray that God protects us, me and my six siblings plus two other half siblings, from harm. That we will be free from the curse that my father started. That we will always be graced by God's Presence for the rest of our lives. I was born in the month of the Rosary, and my mother named me after that month, and because of this, I feel I must always strive to pray the rosary everyday and ask for the intercession of our Holy Mother, the ever Blessed, and ask that my father's soul be spared. I love my father and will always do.

    Dear Fatima Centre, may we know where you purchased your beautiful Our Lady of Fatima statue from?

    • @TheFatimaCenter
      @TheFatimaCenter  4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Thank you for this question. The statue, made of carved wood, is a rare National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima, one of the 25 statues personally blessed by Pope Paul VI on May 13, 1967, while he was in Fatima for the 50th anniversary celebration.
      Father Gruner was instrumental in bringing this particular statue into Canada, and it has been entrusted to The Fatima Center since 1977, accompanying us to all of our conferences and rallies in which we have tried to make the Fatima Message properly understood and acted upon.
      Father Gruner considered the statue to be miraculous, noting that at various times it had given off perfumed aromas and changed its facial expression.
      An interesting example of Our Lady’s love and solicitude for those who honor Her sacred images occurred on one of Father’s visits to India, when thousands of people had gathered to follow our Pilgrim Virgin statue in procession. The region was then suffering a sever drought, and there was very little drinking and washing water available. Also because of the drought, the path used for the procession was terribly dry, and a great deal of dust was being stirred up by the steps of those in the procession. Out of reverence for Our Lady, some of the villagers began to go along ahead of the statue, pouring water (the little they had) on the path, to prevent the statue from being soiled. Shortly afterward, the months-long drought was broken by a tremendous downpour -- just, however, in that village, whose people had been so generous toward Our Lady with the little water which they had!

Kinkead, "An Explanation of the Baltimore Catechism of Christian Doctrine for the Use of Sunday-School Teachers and Advanced Classes" (also known as the Baltimore Catechism #4 in later printings). Many new and used copies are available for sale. The text can also be found online in numerous places, including the Nazareth Master Catechism site mentioned by Father Relyea. God bless you.

      Yes, at 11:30 Father mentions St. Alphonsus Liguori's treatise on the "Choice of a State of Life" contained in his book, "The Great Means of Salvation and Perfection." As Father mentions, it can be found online (under various titles). bit.ly/2SGkJeU

      Thank you for your questions which we will submit to Father Relyea. In the meantime, in regard to fallen-away Catholics, their first step back toward the Church is contrition and purpose of amendment. By praying for these persons' conversion and by encouraging them toward these dispositions, you would do them a great service. The next step of course would be a sacramental Confession and resuming the practice of the Faith. God bless you.

    What is mental prayer

    • @TheFatimaCenter
      @TheFatimaCenter  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your question. Mental prayer in general is contrasted to vocal prayer, which consists in the recitation of formalized (usually written) prayers. More strictly speaking, mental prayer may be either meditation or contemplation, as one’s thoughts proceed according to a plan or spontaneously. The resources listed below may be useful in learning more about this essential form of prayer, which Our Lady of Fatima specifically asks of us in our daily Rosaries and our monthly First Saturday devotions. God bless you.

      "Because of forms of conditioning and mitigating factors, it is possible that _in an objective situation of sin_ - which may not be subjectively culpable, or fully such - _a person can be living in God’s grace,_ can love and can also grow in the life of grace and charity, while receiving the Church’s help to this end." Fr. That's quite a talk but from what you preach I don't believe many souls of this day and age will enter Heaven . Everything u say is true but if two people come close to what u say they'll have to be a saint . And if we're living the THIRD SECRET OF FATIMA , few souls will enter heaven because God restricts His Sacraments to a few ,, only the one's with the true traditional CATHOLIC FAITH will be saved ..I hope I'm wrong but in the world today good is bad And Bad is good . Just look at the government & the VATICAN there in concert together .SAD.

      In the structure of the Church, it is the duty of clerics to teach every means of the faithful life. I'm referring this from Catechism of St Pope Pius X, one of the book he mentioned.
      So, he is obliged to teach about marriage to his flock on the views of the Church.
