Hurricane Helene came through East Tennessee a month or so ago and created millions of dollars of damage. We are nowhere near the coast. People’s houses got washed away. Over 100 people drowned, some who are still missing. I haven’t seen that kind of disaster here in all of my 64 years. I hope Wales never gets hit by one.
while the rain pours down on the Rusty Homestead, hereon the prairies we have a foot of snow courtesy of the bomb cyclone that hit the 🇨🇦 west coast! It is the first snow of the winter and I am very grateful it is the light, dry winter snow and not the heavy very wet spring snow that is good for snowmen and snowball fights, but very heavy to shovel... and on the roof! Your river is very high and angry looking. Keep safe, Sean!
Sterling work Sean. The wet and wind couldnt keep you away, now time to get home and dry have a nice hot cuppa tea. Chill out for rest of day. Hugs and Blessings 💚🌹
Impressed Sean that you braved storm Bert to cover the summer house , glad your plot is higher up after seeing the force of the water, nice that you have a Robin looking after you. Looking forward to your next video.
Here in Hampshire its gusting. I live on a side of a hill and have wonderful views. Im watching a Red Kite, showing off his flying skills in the sky, hunting for his lunch.
Hi Sean. After watching you gamely struggling to batter down the hatches, I watched some videos of storm Bert. I do hope your river doesn't get any higher. After all your hard work it would be awful to be flooded. Stay safe.
Wow that’s a tad warm 😜🤩. I was in Australia in the 80s. In Adelaide SE Australia. Had a wonderful time. Your heat is like nothing else I’ve experienced since before or since. Love your country. 💕
Could a winter job be the construction of compost bays? My late partner constructed a 3 bay compost area using chestnut fencing posts - the ones that sheep netting is secured too - and what he called wavy corrugated panels, which I notice you have on your plot. You could then put in all of the now soggy cardboard boxes to begin to rot down. He did invest in a post rammer to drive them into the ground, this was not expensive.
It’s been a wild night here in West Sussex so I had a wander to my allotment early this morning to check on things, all ok on my plot but there’s a few compost bins rolling about up there and some poly tunnels looking a bit dodgy, the wind really picked up so me and the dog left sharpish for home and a nice cuppa tea, have a great Sunday and hope it settles down for you soon.
Hi Sean this is the only way I have to say I so pray you are safe. That the homestead was not flooded and your house is fine. The reports of flooding show such devastation. Especially Rhonda and Pontypridd. Thinking of you and pray you safe. Greetings from Cape Town South Africa
I was boarder line diabetic. I cut out bread, sugar, and most veg with high carb. If your insulin resistant, ANY CARB will highen your resistance. I discovered my thyroid was not working correctly. I increased my salt, by drinking BHB and using lugols iodine. Im not a doctor but this worked for me. Be well
Yes, what is BHB? And I would remind those interested that any sort of pasta or white rice is a distinct No - right up there w/bread/sweets/pastries. Time for us to get excited by green veggies and solid meats - all as non-pharmaceutically & pesticide treated as possible. Challenging. Also some direct links being discovered relating many health issues related to toxins in: plastic anything (wrappers/bottles/liners/fleece clothing/body lotions/ANY ‘natural fragrances’ . . . most all just mentioned derived through highly ‘processed’ petroleum based substances) Our cells get very very confused,no wonder. Remember that bread, pasta etc never grew on a tree, nor could one pluck from streams/oceans like fishes, nor from the land like rabbits ; ) I personally can pull off about 1.5 nutritious home cooked meals a day, some of the others I sadly skip - but to my detriment. Upside is zero belly fat/any excess. Am sure to swallow twice daily highest quality fish-oil from a very small, fresh opened glass bottle in my fridge, along w/approx 10,000 IU Vit D in EVOO gelcaps, and other org herb supplements (nettles, hawthorne, etc) and other pure vits. A cr@p-filled supplement being as potentially negative for system, and better left on the shelf as cost/health savings. SORRY to have wandered… back to glucose/insulin control . . . best to take sweet veg (sautéed onions/cooked carrots etc) with higher fiber ‘sides’ And good fats (fattier meats, olive oil, cheese) to help flatten glucose/insulin spikes. for instance do Not add that sugar to your tea, but better in your viegarette that’s going on the salad/veggies/meat : )
… In summary - seems meat STEWS w/ plenty of various veg added in later (to not boil out all the nutrition nor break-down their fibers too much), prepped and in the fridge/freezer in glass/alumfoil/NonPlastics would help w/ my cooking/cleaning issues, And am reminding myself that soaked/cooked black-beans are practically a superfood that also does well with all that added veg. Now to get my larder filled (and counters freed-up) to pull all this off!
Well Done Boyo ! all that cardboard you have could make a handy 'no dig' veg/flower patch if you laid it held down with wood around perimeter cover in soil, perfect for the spring with no digging involved. Ive just moved and trying it that way 🍅🥦🍓🫑🍒 🌻🌻🐝
Oh my, working in the rain! But you got it done. If your sugar level is high, you could try as I did, no more than 20 grams of carbs a day. In six months it's normal again and no medication needed. It's freezing up at night here in Iowa, USA. Winter has come.
Glad you are going for a diabetes check. I had issues with vision and skin tags before my diagnosis. Reversed it with keto, and am now maintaining normal A1C with lower carb lifestyle. Early intervention is best - good luck! 🤞🏼
Bert has been very busy in West Devon since yesterday morning - lots of rain and very high winds. I have to walk Madge my rescue greyhound in this, so she can do her business, as I have no garden, (only a small front area that we can sit out in when it is sunny) and it is so scary, especially as I am surrounded by trees, and am scared of branches dropping on us! We have another day of it today, (Sunday) then it is going to be better on Monday, but we are due rain all week. At least my two water buts outside will be filling up, for when we then get a drought! You were a real trooper to do what you did in that pouring rain. May I suggest you get yourself some Dunlop wellies, as your poor feet must have been soaking - I live in mine when I go out with Madge. Blessings to you from Jilly & Madge. xxx
Watching this at 4pm. I hope everything is okay there. I've seen the news about the Rhonda bursting it's banks in Pontypridd. Some terrible floods. My thoughts are with everyone effected.
This is sadly no longer true (in many instances). There are newer theories about weather patterns and the disruption of jet streams due to air traffic, not to mention newer technologies such as cloud seeding. Wise to leave nature alone lest it balance the offenders who arrogantly think otherwise.
When you mentioned a pain in your shoulder blade and problems with your vision my ears pricked uo. I have a fatty liver, as I believe you do too, and also had similar problems which turned out to be signs that my liver was inflamed. So along with a diabetes check it might also be a good idea to ask for liver function tests, to be safe.
@@seanjamescameron It isn't really "solved" - more kept at bay by trying hard to be careful with my diet. I sometimes fail at it but basically - no fried food, reduced-fat foods where possible, very little processed carbs. Yesterday it rained all day. Today was dry and even sunny so we went for a walk. I'd intended to go down to the gym and swim a few laps but I was just too tired - chronic fatigue takes no prisoners. Sean, just an idea I’m not sure if your staple gun is strong enough but you could use one for securing the beading around the glass in the summer house. This will make it easier and faster than using nails and an hammer. If you don’t have one strong enough hire a staple gun that would do the job.
Good that the shed isn't closer to the river and no sign of leaks during today's downpour. Nice idea to use the plastic sheet to weather protect the Summerhouse.Hope you didn't get too drenched !

We just had something called a storm bomb or something like that . I live on the North West coast of USA. Very close to the Vancouver Island with the Capital of British Columbia the biggest city we are near. I think it used to be called a cyclone, but weather men have to have new names for things. This was Tuesday and today, Seattle on Sunday morning they were without electricity in many areas. Because of big trees blown down across electric lines.

It's been chucking it down most of the day here in Maltby, South Yorkshire(see i remembered😊) was quite dark for ages too this morning.(Saturday) Think you missed an opportunity to sing ,' singing in the rain '😅 . I like feed the birds also Hushabye Mountain from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The river was running fast. Had to laugh was just thinking about a dark room then you mentioned it 😊. Hope the camera passed the test bet you were soaked 😊
Im glad you put the sheeting around the shed. Was only saying to someone yesterday that it would be good to put some thick plastic sheeting up to weatherproof it until you had time to finish putting the glass in. You must have read my mind!
I have one of the Insta 360 cameras though haven't used it as much as I have wanted to. As for the weather, we have had the occasional sun break through the week, but otherwise Pacific Northwest normal... rain most of the day every day.
Do you remember the first time when you were getting up that you Grunted. When it happened to. Me. I just laughedIt's all we can do I do it a lot more now. Many noises come out of me when I'm getting up. And when that happens, I look up to the heavens and I. Ask God why?😅

I have expected you to do a rendition of Gene Kelly and the song"Singing in the rain"
The river Taff is very high.
Gezellig 😊
It might be a good idea to use a bit of lead for top of roof you can mould it better you take care out there
I hope you’re doing okay . Storm looks bad .
A good idea to have a diabetes test. Maybe an eye test would be a wise move as well.
Yes, you can get free eye tests now, so a really good idea, as you have such beautiful eyes Sean. xxx
Would be really nice if you could get someone to haul away all the garbage 😊
Hope you haven't been flooded
Good job you got the solar panel up. It might have been better to build a hydro-electric system
Im glad you put the sheeting around the shed. Was only saying to someone yesterday that it would be good to put some thick plastic sheeting up to weatherproof it until you had time to finish putting the glass in. You must have read my mind!
Do you know you must have so much charisma, I could you on here for hours and it never bores me. Even your every day tasks .... what a top bloke 😊 x
oh I do love your vlogs Sean, your such a joy x
I love Mary Poppins.❤❤
all it needs is a ribbon and bow
Glad you didn't get wet indoors. Hope the diabetes test is normal.
Sean just checking are you okay? Just seen on the news that Rhonda Council have declared a major incident after the river flooding in South Wales.
I just noticed that the summer house roof mirrors the shape of the mountain x
Oh yes! Well spotted.
I think you need to heat both buildings every little while to keep the black mould away.
The Rhondda council have now declared a major incident
I hope everyone is okay. Be safe where you are.
Major flooding.
Stay safe Sean.
Sean,
We haven't heard from you since the area flooded and we are all worried about your health and safety.
We'll all be very relieved when you are able to let us know how things are there. We wish you the very best!
All ok and safe just a little damp.
@@seanjamescameron Good to hear that! We're watching from The Pacific Northwest - Washington [USA] Puget Sound area. Take care.
Getting out of London and sitting in the allotment next to that river will undoubtedly lengthen your life and lessen your stress. Best wishes.
The roof of your summer house echos the top of the mountain. A chilly, cloudy day here in south, eastern, Ontario.
It never rains but it pours 😂
I love your channel Sean. My great grandad came from Tredegar and I love the wet Welsh weather😂 Your followers seem to be like minded, kind people from all over the world and it does my heart “good” at a very hard time in my life. ❤️
Aw sorry to hear you are having a bad time. My mum always used to say things happen for a reason & she was right. Hopefully things will soon get better for you. In the meantime I'll send you a big hug🤗
Blessings to you.
There are storms all over Europe. Be safe and drink a cuppa tea
It's good to see the summerhouse put to bed for winter, Sean.
Hope your allotment isn't flooded
