grow your own hay. lawn mowers are loud and dumb. put on some boots and listen to the birds. they shit out pretty flowers. bought the sickle from ScytheSupply.
Very cool. Questions - How do you keep it from growing back? Are you digging up what's left? There are areas I want to put a small build on that will take a while, and I'd prefer not to re-cut the grass, but I also don't want to use any equipment that's not environmentally friendly.
I’m using the grass as a resource for compost/mulch so I’m gonna leave it alone and let it regrow. I might end up digging out a small pond at some point. You can always lay out cardboard or hay to slow down the growth.
@@jonbruh Thanks so much. Have started with the cardboard. Once there's a container or whatever on it it will struggle to grow back, in theory, at least in that spot.
@@npoindexter2919 absolutely, the more layers the better. i like to put a layer of hay on top of the cardboard for good measure. If i decide later that i want to add plants, i put down compost directly on top of the old hay.
