I'm late to this video but I loved how the dots and different colours create so many illusions on the box. Some parts of the design recede while others pop up creating striking depth to the box lid. I was not a fan of dot art until I saw this, thank you for sharing!
Hi , love these. I am ordering the box in the video but wondering where to purchase the hexagon boxes that aren’t cut out. Do you have a link to them you could share?
WOW I LOVE, LOVE,LOVE THESE!!! Awesome job, I enjoyed watching where you took your design, as you said everyone could do it differently!! Soooo I have to check out your shop, I want some of those to dot!! Thank you for sharing your ideas and talent!!
Yes! So sorry, I just sold out of them today. I have one equally beautiful box design still available. The radial design box shown in this video will be restocked soon. Thank you!
Hi Rachel, Beatiful! On the top the wood box in the cutout part, did you stain or paint in between the cut out sections? If you painted in between the cutouts how did you keep it from bledding to the underside (inside of the box)?
The top was cut with a laser so the faces of the cut sections are brown. No need to paint. I did more of a dry brush paint on the top so it wouldn't drip into those cut out sections.
Wait a second. You said 4 paints - white, gold, teal topaz, and the stain. But the dark teal you painted the top of the box is NOT the Teal Topaz you used to dot with, right? So what color of dark teal did you use to paint the box???
You're so right about that. I missed the dark teal paint in the description. Unfortunately I have no idea what I used but it would have been a flat acrylic paint.
Hi Rachel, It’s Kay from Zephyrhills. We only have Hobby Lobby here and they don’t sell the Golden brand paints. Can you tell me where I can find them? TIA
I just bought one of these boxes from your Etsy shop and was wondering on the lid to get that blue did you have to add that color to the gel stain? Im always asking about the lid colors lol:)

These boxes are fun to paint. So many options for optical illusions with this design. Thanks for watching! 😊

Es evidente qué hay una generación de profesoras de puntillismo, fabulosas, trataré de seguirles las clases mientras que pueda
Muchas gracias Alicia!
Hi Rachel, Do you varnish over the stained parts of the box as well as the painted portions or just that painted parts?
It's your choice. I varnished over the whole thing just to protect from scratches and water damage.
Gorgeous! Thank you!
Thanks for watching : )

Amazon has them! Also if you’re in Tampa there’s a Blick off Westshore that has it all. ❤️

JUSTINE PRICE the lid color was just a teal blue acrylic paint, not a stain. 😊
I have done very similar with Woodglut designs.
