When I was a kid, I heard a girl play this at my brother's piano recital. I just remember thinking it was the most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard. This is my second time ever listening to this song.

My mom played this at home all the time when I was a kid; she was fabulous! She could have been a concert pianist but would never perform in front of people. I did get her to promise to play it for my wedding. Sadly, she developed advanced Parkinson's Disease and by the time I got married, she was completely unable to play. I so miss this piece of music. You play almost exactly the way she did and it brings back to be a flood of emotions and memories. Thank you so very much!

I learned this in 1971 and loved every moment of practice it took to play it correctly. Due to disability I can no longer play but this has brought joy to my heart. Thank you for an outstanding performance.

My mother played it and I loved watching her but due to not keeping up with it after her mid-30's or so and then arthritis she can no longer either. It saddens her maybe a little but for me, watching this brought joy to my heart of what a great piece it is and this woman's performance I love.

@@pianowoman I grew up listening to Liberace and many others, but I think your rendition is the most beautiful I've had the pleasure to listen to. I was 10 years old when this was written / composed. It took my Grand Father 1 year to master it. In later life I devoted 5 years to learning it on the classical guitar but never achieved perfection. Thank you again for sharing it, from the bottom of my heart.

My father used to play this for my brothers & I on Saturday nights growing up. This cover is the most similar to his that I have yet to find. I’ve come back to this video many times over the past decade, it reminds me of home. Thank you Anat, perfección.

My mother's take on it was a little different, I guess I thought it was more classic classical and now I have watched several versions on TH-cam and SEE how Spanish it is. Your version I love because I never saw it as such dance. I can visualize in my head the dance of the music and that is really cool.

It was written for the piano. Sabicas transcribed it some 20 years later for guitar, where it took root.

Nasa Space Exporations lecuona was against Fidel and his revolution.. lecuona is buried in New York and he asked to be buried in Cuba only after the revolution is no more.

Estudió en El Conservatorio Nacional de La Habana, del cual obutvo por unanimidad el primer premio y medalla de oro de su curso (1913). Recorrió como concertista muchos países de América y Europa. Su trabajo creador comprende cerca de 600 obras, entre ellas, Danza Negra, La Comparsa, Malagueña, Danza Lucumí, Siboney, Maria La O, Arrullo de Palma, El sombrero de Yarey, entre otras. es quizás el más grande músico que ha dado Cuba.
