Victim is a living tripwire it is a low level so easily defeated in a battle, but in death it casts a massive debuff on its opponents. Demiurge's creator enjoyed playing the villain so he created Demiurge to be the perfect arch nemesis.
The flex scene in this episode is probably my favorite flex scene in all of anime. A quick note on one part of it that doesn't get explained in the anime (not a spoiler, just some details they didn't get into): the "Messenger" monsters (the floating cloud heads who speak to the lizardmen) exist in the New World. Zaryusu Shasha encountered one during his travels, and was so scared by his inability to damage it even with Frost Pain that he ran away. When the Messenger originally appears in the village, Zaryusu tells the other lizardmen about his experience, and its one of the reasons why they think there is such a good chance they will lose, because they need to fight someone capable of controlling such a hard to kill monster. During this episode, when Ainz summons half a dozen of the Messengers, it serves to demonstrate his strength, but the flex comes after. You notice that they all disappear when Shalltear claps her hands? She isn't returning the summoned monsters -- she can't do that, as Ainz is the one who summoned them. When she claps, she KILLS them. This shows that (i) Ainz is capable of summoning multiple Messengers at once, (ii) Shalltear is strong enough to kill with a clap of her hands a horde of monsters Zaryusu was literally incapable of damaging, and (iii) Ainz considers these monsters so beneath him and he has such a wealth of power in reserve that he does not consider it a waste to literally exterminate the Messengers after having them deliver a one-sentence message.
I presume roughly the translation of that shakespearean line is to say: "There is no man with a greater love for another, than he who lays down his life/sacrifises himself for a friend"
@@CouVanGarrett In the video, the one reacting described it as 'shakespearean' talk pretty much saying what you expect to see in a shakespeare work, thats why i referred to it as such
2:17 Victim doesn't really speak "telepathically". He speaks the angelic language "Enochian" but there's a magic effect that allows to understand his meaning regardless of understanding the language. A few more details about Victim (not spoilers, it's explained in the novel at around that time, but not in the anime). Victim is level 35, making him the only guardian that isn't level 100. He has no combat ability, and his character build is just the minimum to unlock the class "martyr". When a martyr dies, it unleashes a detainment effect on all enemies. An army of 1500 players attacked Nazarick and made it to the 8th floor but were stopped there. Presumably slaughtered by floor's forces while stunlocked after Victim's death. The reason he's kept level 35 is that it's cheaper to resurrect a lower level NPC and he's not needed for his fighting capability.
Nice, it's not in anything but speaking an angels tongue should also apply a debuff to anything that can't understand it, or outright end them. It musta been a real bad day, bet it took months to plan, and you lose the battle to a lvl 35 angel who somehow did it by losing the fight.
@@SheldonMurphy-fp4ko just saying but the new world as an auto translate feature so everyone can understand each other so long as they share enough of the same concept. this apply to all sentient specie capable of speech. in other word if you would be able to understand what someone says in your own language then the language they speak doesn't matter. however i will note that this does not extend to written language so there are a few of those.
The giant golem is the 4th floor guardian, Gargantua. Unlike the other floor guardians who are created by Ainz's guild members, Gargantua is one of the original NPC monsters of Nazarik before Ainz and crew conquered the dungeon and made it their main base. They decided to capture Gargantua and reprogrammed it to serve as a floor guardian, it's normally inactive most of the time which is why there's not much screen time of it. Demiurge's control voice ability (not really sure what it's called) only works on low level opponents up to a certain level. Stronger opponents are abe to resist or become completely immune to this ability
10:26 yup they are, I mean some of them are Advance AI. Imagine Overlord is a chess then Demiurge & Albedo are literally like Stockfish, and rest of them are general chess bots with difference difficulty. ♟️
Ah Neel, you don't know how much I needed this video right now. Blazing hot day, stressed, headache. I am gonna put my whole soul into watching this great episode
The best part is that army of unnamed mooks (by Nazarick standards) could wipe the floor with most of the world's militaries despite being only a small fraction of Nazarick's strength.
I might be in minority but I would easily watch several seasons or episodes of Overlords with just side characters. I think they are so great and kind of wish the series was longer than it is.
I'm assuming you've read/listened to all the light novels? Anime covered up to 11-12 so far I think & the movie this year yet will be covering 13/14~. + there's a whole sidestory on if Ainz never spawned in Nazarick & teamed up w/ Evileye instead. ❤ But I agree; the author made some really intriguing side characters.. which makes it suck even more that he's ending the story in a few more volumes. Idk how he'll ever give much coverage to all the Slane Theocracy ppl alone...😢
@@Styles_Breez Actually not really a fan of manga/comics but I often do my research on topics I am interested and have heard of Evileye story. I do agree it does feel a bit rushed and hard to believe can wrap everything up with bow on top. I imagine at least on the manga side of things they do a better job of adding more just like anime usually has to cut a lot of content. I am mostly just happy that this story will have conclusion as not at all my liked shows ever get that.
@@abc123tiktok Yea, Overlord is a light novel, not a manga.. so there's a TON of detail & stuff that the anime had to skip over. I typically don't get into manga/etc either but Overlord was the exception, especially since I was able to just listen to the audio of AI reading the light novel. Apparently with the movie on the Holy Kingdom arc coming next month, the author is releasing another sidestory; "The Ghost Ship of the Katz Plains." Unfortunately he's releasing it in 2 parts, only to limited movie-goers of the premiere, & of course.. only in Japan. 😞 Though I'm sure the translated version will make it online eventually.
17:20 "I feel like he would make such a great villain" you realize he already is one right ?? I mean he is in the protagonist team, but it doesnt make him any less of a villain xD. Momonga himself is pretty much a villain too xD
Btw Neel, version 5.0 in Genshin Impact has released a trailer, You mention something about wanting to comeback to the game, well even if You are not coming back, I think its a great idea to react to all the things You missed, last time You seen Nahida I think in around version 3.2?
I have to add it there, cause its been twice since i heard this "u are smart isekai-person u done little mistakes Ainz" thing - here on 9 minute is perfect example of insane mistake. Yes, having free will and thinking for urself is good, but Ainz here left so little suupervision over his subordinates that made them able to do some insane shiet later on. To specify - since as i said before, Ainz is just regular fellow, not smart but not too dumb. He doesnt have that much governing/ruling expirience, therefore he tryes to shift part of that burden to the Guardians. Which.... isnt smart at all.

I thought when Victim died he resurrected all guardians on the previous levels of Nazarik
@@sinned6us The wiki says his death activates a powerful detainment skill, since its level is low it won't cost as much as Shalltears revival charge.

Honestly this episode is one of my absolute favorites. The insane flex of just using ALL THAT MIGHT... for an honor guard? Absolutely mental.
Nah, the honour guard was his floor guardians, the rest of the army was literally just a pedestal-placer, a staircase, and flag carriers/heralds 😂
The "Impregnate me" was so funny too for the English voice actress who had to do it (AmaLee/Monarch VTuber).
Oh was that also her who voiced Crusch?
I think I remember seeing some clip of her talking about it, i think she was so embarrassed
