I agree. I’m terms of a relationship. The roles may be reversed if the “submissive” person is dealing with Terri children, siblings, business partners or just how they go through life. But when it comes to their partner they are that way. And there are levels to it. Some like IDK Christian and Anastasia(Pretty submissive) from Fifty Shade of Grey(Super Dominant...kind of toxic IMHO)(and no not just because of BDSM whatever floats peoples boats) Bella(Submissive) and Edward(Dominant)to a smaller degree and IMHO not as extreme as The Greys. Jon(dominant) and Daenerys(submissive)even though their relationship was pretty poorly written and may not even be called a relationship...I think their ‘roles’ in the relationship are pretty much like many people’s. The woman happens to submissive and the man dominant, but not in an extreme or overbearing way and is a nice balance. But in their live sousing of each other they both have their dominant areas. Fitz(submissive)and Olivis(dominant)I see Fitz as the submissive...but in a subtle way. Once he is the President and all but their relationship is different. Cersei(dominant) and Jamie(submissive)Cersei is pretty dominant...and their relationship became toxic because of it(other factors to)...so there are different levels to dominant-submissive relationships which I believe all are to some degree/extent.
@Prima Donna am about to finish season 3 and am wondering if I should keep watching I already know the way it will end and it seems like it’s always the same story line I feel you so much on that.

This scene is hands down one of the best! I mean, they acted their faces off. It also showed the reality of Olivia/Fitz romance and took off the rose colored glasses. Mellie was right. It worked before because each of them played their part. Without her, it turned into this. With the added pressure of being in the public, they didn't really have a fair shot.
@@rachybaby72 Olivia is the reason Fitz has his success. Fitz is a good man, but the people around him are the reason he is so successful. Fitz strong armed Olivia into living with him and doing the First Lady duties when it is HER job to fix things. She has a job, she already has success. Fitz forced this on her and she didn't fight it at first because she didn't want it to end.
I think they loved each other, but for the wrong reasons. Olivia loved that he was unavailable and didn't require any real commitment and Fitz loved that Olivia was an escape from the Presidency. I think that's why Jake scared Olivia so much, he knew exactly what he wanted and told her so. He represented reality and a real future and it terrified her.
When she is talking about there is no Vermont and no future, she speaking on the abortion. She knew that was the future he wanted for them. Children and a family. She also knew telling him would destroy him so she walked away. She has major parental issues so I think the prospect of being a mom is what is scaring her into running. She's already taken on the duties of first lady, something she never wanted. Her life fast tracked when she and Fitz became official, suddenly she's now in Mellie's place. While Mellie was content with being a wife and mother, Olivia I don't think ever will be.
And Olivia's father most likely found a way to make Olivia miscarry her pregnancy. Also the fact that Olivia's father had Fitz's own son killed, it probably make Olivia feel guilty to be pregnant and make Mellie very resentful.
I agree, she definitely had reason to be scared of being a mother. She didn’t exactly have the role model parents. They honestly failed her in my opinion.
@@nryanmusic Arent you a woman? Am I crazy in believing in a women's right to choose? It was her child in her stomach that SHE would've had to carry to term. It would have her life that completely changed. Fathers can readily walk out of their children's lives if they want to. Women dont really have that option. Absent father's are a sad truth and people look down on them for it, but a mother who abandons her child is seen as scum. She did not want to be first lady. Having that child would have sealed that fate. That her burden to bear alone and she kept from him to save his heart. He would have understood, but it also would have broken him. The fact that she didnt want his child. The fact that he would have had another, the chance to start over after the death Jerry. She made the right decision for her while sparing the feelings of the man she had loved. Plus Fitz used the secret of the dead jurors (a terrible mistake on Mellie's part) to get what he wanted. Banish Mellie move Liv into the White House. Olivia was just as trapped in that White House as Belle was in the Beast's Castle. It was a manipulation of the grandest scale and Olivia knew it.
This is why I loved their relationship after this argument. This argument was so insightful it shed some new refreshing light into how they really saw each other and their simultaneous decisions to try and get back to each other was founded on this. I honestly loved the Olitz after the breakup their minds were much clearer
This scene irritated me because then it’s like y’all did all this for what you broke up this man’s marriage did what because in season 4 he and Mellie really got to a good place and Olivia always felt this way which is why she didn’t want him to divorce Mellie so why go along with it now when you already knew the outcome
There were a lot of truths spoken in the fight. They are the reason why this relationship wouldn't have worked, their pride, ignorance and utter selfishness is the reason why they couldn't be in a real relationship for more than a few months. They didn't take the time to actually get to know each other and learn to compromise and work as a team. They let their feelings and misunderstanding of each other dictate their relationship this entire time, so when the time came for them to finally be a couple for real, they were unprepared and they were going into this with anxiety, hurt feelings, and ignorance. This is why Olivia basically cracked under the pressure. True, Mellie didn't do much better but the difference is that Fitz and Mellie are a great team and they knew each other very well and learned around each other. Olivia and Fitz still needs time and they both need to leave their egos at the door and actually give this relationship a shot or they will continue to fail
Michael Gasaway Ii I think it’s season 5. After she got kidnapped and revealed that her and Fitz were a couple. I think the season finale or right before
Um it doesnt work because it led to a dead end.....never date a married man because he couldn't give Olivia what she truly wanted which was all of him.
I'm so glad they both realized at that moment why Millie was the way she was and how she came to be that way. Olivia understood it better having been thrusted in Millies shoes and not even being able to handle it for a few weeks. Also watching Millie start to become a "big dog" herself & thriving at it. I hope they both knew at that point that if it weren't for Millie taking care of the part of Fitz's life she possessed that Olitz would never had survived as long as it did. Olivia finally got it but Fitz never did. He still had the nerve to look down on Millie.
It still amazes me Fitz never caught on to why they were arguing and why she missed the dinner. Olivia said “there is no future...not anymore” palmed her womb I just knew it meant terminating a pregnancy. But i guess that what the writers wanted us to see in the foreshadowing

That way when the real thing came like ( moving into the whitehouse, a proposal, & marriage), she would be able to escape. She has issues from both parents. Mellie was willing to endure it for herself. Olivia doesn't want that. I question if she ever really love/loved Fitz. Or did she just love the excitement of sneaking around with the most powerful man in the free world. She doesn't need Fitzgerald, he's obsessed and thinks he need her. Fitz needs to move on imo...
Mel Liggins Olivia loves Fitz . it wasn't about sneaking into the W.H .She is not that cruel . at least you can tell from her thing with Edison. she loved Fitz but he didn't listen to her. it was a sick relashionship for both of them
Olivia knew what she was getting into when she started dating a married man. No sympathy. Like get over yourself. She puts herself into situations where she makes herself the victim and then make herself seem like the "big dog" when really she just looks for ways out.
Okay duh, Olivia put herself in this situation. Fitz admitted whole hearted that he was married with children but Olivia skank ass thought she big dog that she could handle every "silver fox" that came her way. She whole hearted admitted she loved Fitz at the Constitution museum and agreed with Fitz that they were in this thing together. Olivia skank ass accepted Fitz ring Doux bebe, and while on the WH balcony, Fitz asked Olivia, "what happens now?" Olivia skank ass answered "whatever we want." So yes ma'am, Olivia skank ass is the terrible one. Because she knew just what she was getting into. She knew dang well Fitz was married but she slept with him on the campaign trail. Yep. Olivia is a skank.
I never thought any good would come out of this relationship simple fact that Fitz was a married man, Olivia started off lying to Fitz to begin with. I personally loved the way Fitz loved Olivia, the things he did for her like the ring, the house, putting on her hunting shoes, the way Olivia made Fitz smile. I just love the way Fitz loved his Livy. I knew their relationship wouldn't last. I just didn't like Olivia's inconsistency. One minute she said there was Hope and next minute she said there's no hope. smh
@@laurareznick9097 It's both of'em. And yes Olivia did seduce Fitz when she first approached him on the bus on the Campaign Trail. Mind you, Fitz was minding his own business and Olivia went and sat next to Fitz.... oh yessss, she had a motive. So in my opinion, Fitz is not equally nor more to blame. It's both of'em. It takes two.
Fitz and Olivia aren't over " Like Fitz said I'll never be over you, Olivia. This is a bump in the road true love always finds its way back home. Their love is to powerful to ever stop being meaningful Fitz sees a future with Olivia. Tony G sees a future with Olivia & Fitz in Vermont...
"So you're bitter...is that it? After realizing how ineffectual you actually are?" Damn that one went deeeeeeeeep ....anyone also notice they're literally speaking on the others last word; they've have the same fight so many times now, that all the layers are crashing and here is the cataclysmic finale #priceless
Clearly the love is still there. That's not what broke them up. What it is is that Olivia said that she didn't know Fitz available. When he was married she was able to leave him so many times but now that he is divorced and his presidency is almost over and the world has pretty much accepted their relationship shit just got real for her. This is so relatable for alot of people. When you're the mistress you are there to fill a void that the wife wasnt filling originally. In this case, Fitz ended up falling in love with her. He didn't want an affair for over 20 years like some people do. He wanted to let Mellie go so she could to allow herself to be happy and free and he can do the same for once. Now that he's single, she can't easily run anymore. Having the abortion was because she felt trapped in that life of first lady and she didn't want that. She wanted to continue to do what she was doing which was being there for her man and have her own life as well. Fitz shouldn't have moved her in. Everything was fine the way things were.
I dont feel sorry for liv in this scene. If she didn't want to be his first lady in public then she never should've moved herself into the white house in the season 4 finale and the beginning of season 5. She should've stayed home and just waited for fitz to come to her apartment as usual. She never should've told the world that she was his mistress. Having the abortion was because she had Rowan's warped sense of self loathing in her brain.
This is one of the scariest and ugliest fights that can be shown between a black woman and white man on television. I'm so triggered. I kept thinking to myself that it was going to lead to actual physical violence.
Am i the only person who thinks both Tony an Kerry's chemistry was soo great an strong on camera and that thinks they would have made a great couple in reality? Wow their both great actors 😁😁😁❤❤❤
These people are ridiculous. They love each other. No disputes there. The question is do they want to act on the feelings and form a life together or not? There’s no in between.
This episode was finally on air in Belgium yesterday. They finally both said what is on their minds. Communication is the key to any good relationship! I hope they get back together in season 6 and then move to Vermont!😀 Because Olitz is the only real reason I am addicted to this show! Great actors by the way.
I’ve never been a supporter of Olitz and I got to say, this is the nastiest break up scene I’ve watched in my life. At the end, they just wanted to hurt each other by saying what they truly thought in the harshest way possible. Both 🚮
mellie was the strongest. She survived fitz and the presidency without much complaining and she always did what had to be done. “Carry the cross on her back” as she would say
Mellie is not the strongest, Mellie was where she has always wanted to be "in the white house as 1st lady" so it was easy to sacrifice anything 4 it "u sacrifice 4 what u love" unlike Olivia she never wanted it she wanted power but she will rather wild power from the shadows. She never wanted to be trapped or be a prop which was y she always ran away from fitz anytime Mellie tried to use her as a prop to get to fitz
The truth is Olivia only wanted Fitz when he was unavailable. How many times did he tell her she was more important than the White House only for Olivia to turn him down? Olivia doesn’t want to sacrifice her independence, her power because to be with Fitz means she has to be “Mellie” and take a backseat to his career. Full stop.
nah but fr, this scene broke my little heart 💯. Livie know damn well she was wrong to abort his baby and not even tell him the truth. There is no Vermont now, if I was Fitz I wouldn't take her back knowing she did that foul shit.
Yes I agree she should not of had that abortion she should of told Fitzgerald He had a right to know but ohhhh miss smarty pants.for her own selfish reasons gets rid of baby she will pay the price later 🤔🙄✋
Absolutely because in the end when Olivia walked away from the WH and the corruption that comes with wanting power, Fitz was right there standing in front of her. Both of them ready to take on the next chapter of their lives.
😂 I love being proven right. I saw through this relationship from the very beginning. And I know this isn’t their end. I’ve watched scandal and rewatching it now but facts were spilled in this conversation especially that unavailable part.

Mel Liggins Olivia loves Fitz . it wasn't about sneaking into the W.H .She is not that cruel . at least you can tell from her thing with Edison. she loved Fitz but he didn't listen to her. it was a sick relashionship for both of them
Mel Liggins maybe when Fitz will be just a man not a predsident they will have a chance of a new life (Vermont)
amazing acting to Kerry and Tony this scene was excellent!!! 💓💕💛😁❤😍💖💟
Their acting was just breath taking here,
Olivia knew what she was getting into when she started dating a married man.
One minute she said there was Hope and next minute she said there's no hope. smh
He's the one who took marriage vows, not her. She didn't seduce him into breaking his vows. He is equally if not more to blame.
What did she lie to him about from the beginning?
@@laurareznick9097 It's both of'em. And yes Olivia did seduce Fitz when she first approached him on the bus on the Campaign Trail. Mind you, Fitz was minding his own business and Olivia went and sat next to Fitz.... oh yessss, she had a motive. So in my opinion, Fitz is not equally nor more to blame. It's both of'em. It takes two.
she wasn't lying: her abortion came up lol and yea she didnt want to go to some boring ass dinner.
Who else jumped a lil when he yelled?Wow!!
Her eyes r so expressive
Finally some honesty
THis show has some of the best acting prime time has ever seen
I could not breathe when they were fighting, and I took deep breaths when there was a pause. That was intense!!!!!!!!
Me too. This felt like my parents were arguing
When she said There is no Us! As a man i felt that. I thought she was breaking up with me
Fitz and Olivia aren't over " Like Fitz said I'll never be over you, Olivia. This is a bump in the road true love always finds its way back home. Their love is to powerful to ever stop being meaningful Fitz sees a future with Olivia. Tony G sees a future with Olivia & Fitz in Vermont...
mm wb well said. Love they each other unconditionally.
@@smcbeth7 lol this did not age Well...
@@dejahturner16 it did. They ended up together
At least they are honest.
Such a toxic relationship... I'm older now ... Liv is such a toxic person and so is fitz
🎯🎯🎯🎯
As a human being, I still have not recovered from this.
I never would have
This was epic fight between them. That the words that they both shot at each other they couldn't take back...awful things
Bro, My Heart Was Breaking.
"So you're bitter...is that it? After realizing how ineffectual you actually are?"
Damn that one went deeeeeeeeep
....anyone also notice they're literally speaking on the others last word; they've have the same fight so many times now, that all the layers are crashing and here is the cataclysmic finale #priceless
Oooooo, he flinched when she said "where I came from?"
They fight every episode 🤣 the most toxic relationship!
I know he has yelled at her before but when he did that I'm like do not yell at her 😂😂
Amazing acting!!! Timeless
Maria she didn't move herself into the white house. He did, without her knowledge.
@@sdcr1077 yes she did. Season 4 finale and season 5 episodes 1 and 2.
@@mariajohnson2647 have to rewatch.
@@sdcr1077 i have rewatched scandal several times. Im sticking to my opinion.
This is one of the scariest and ugliest fights that can be shown between a black woman and white man on television. I'm so triggered. I kept thinking to myself that it was going to lead to actual physical violence.
Mac Morris that shii scared meh
This scene didn't scare me at all cause fitz is not a violent person. He would never put his hands on her. Now jake would.
This season has me disappointed,'yall...
Bruh, I feel you
+Emily Meza olitz will be together
Do you thinl is really the end though?
+naspacific olitz might be together before his terms is over or after
+Tori White that scene though.....how can they recover from that? the words they ysed to describe one another....hurtful.....IDK
Millie left behind some liquid courage
I see why people loved this show 🤣 that writing
This breaks my heart, I hope they get back together eventually
They will the next season at the end of his presidency
No to much drama , yelling madness, they are not Happy
This is my top favorite part of the whole scandal show and its my one favorite show out of all the shows I have and have watched.
Me too.
Her looking for the moonshine in that little ass jewelry box, sends me every time! 😂
THERE IS NO JAM!!! D:
Am i the only person who thinks both Tony an Kerry's chemistry was soo great an strong on camera and that thinks they would have made a great couple in reality?
Wow their both great actors 😁😁😁❤❤❤
Me too 😍😍
Made a great couple in real life based on the scenes in a script? Naaah, besides they are both married to diff people.
Whew Lawd!!! I think I need to watch the series again starting this weekend. 🗣 Olivia girl imma see you soon!!!
Hi who ever wrote the nonsense about Olivia that Fitz is a married man yes she knew and also Mellie so give Olivia a break
These people are ridiculous. They love each other. No disputes there. The question is do they want to act on the feelings and form a life together or not? There’s no in between.
These two are so amazing! Love them together.❤️💙
One of the best episodes. I miss Scandal 😢
Both 🚮
And they still only spoke partial truths. This is ugly but there was plenty left unsaid.
mellie was the strongest.
Well, it was her wish to be the First Lady tbf.
This scene is peakkkk acting!!!
One of the best tv shows
The truth is Olivia only wanted Fitz when he was unavailable. How many times did he tell her she was more important than the White House only for Olivia to turn him down? Olivia doesn’t want to sacrifice her independence, her power because to be with Fitz means she has to be “Mellie” and take a backseat to his career. Full stop.
Seeing this make wanna stay alone forever ....relationships are so hard
nah but fr, this scene broke my little heart 💯.
How the hell is she worse than Mellie... Does it have to do with her nature of being independent that makes it hard for him to accept?
When you find out in the next episode what she meant by “There’s no future, not anymore” this hits catastrophically harder. 🥺
How did I never notice the flashbacks until now? Were they in the version on Netflix?
The beginning was hilarious lmaooooo
She's the problem starter in the relationship
Black Silk fudgeri47584
victoria wrepu bruh what ?
Always
Keri did an excellent job of acting in this scene.
Ladies and gentlemen, KERRY WASHINGTON 👐🏿👐🏿
I just love to see these two they belong together.
Absolutely because in the end when Olivia walked away from the WH and the corruption that comes with wanting power, Fitz was right there standing in front of her. Both of them ready to take on the next chapter of their lives.
I stopped watching soon after this. Olivia is just so damn indecisive
If both your ex-wife and your mistress both have to drink to have a conversation with you you are the problem
No,😱 they have the problem (Olivia and Mellie) because they are arcoholics 👍😭 Olitz forever 👍 Scandal Show forever 👍😃
I miss Scandal. Bravo Sondra Rhimes for excellent writing ❤️
“So your bitter” 😂😂😂😍😍
That water 💧 tho 😂😂😂 I still can’t wrap my head around her excitement to see the glass bottle 😂😂😂😂
It was a jar
Moonshine yall
I have never watched this show.. I thought it was alcohol lol
I don't remember where or what I was looking at when this show first started
I found this show this year 2024 in August!!!!!
😂
I love being proven right. I saw through this relationship from the very beginning. And I know this isn’t their end. I’ve watched scandal and rewatching it now but facts were spilled in this conversation especially that unavailable part.
Acting skills 💯💯
I feel all kinds of way about that "property" comment. That was a low-blow.
That was absolutely dirty. It reminds me of when Olivia made the Sally Hemings comment in S1. You could tell it triggered Fitz.
@@gmarie3082 i was thinking the exact same thing
Mellie lowkey told Fitz the same thing... he takes from the women he loves/loved and feels obligated in that just so he can be great.
So many thirsty ladies her for Fitz lmao
He's good looking
There she goes blaming him, for everything yet she has issues and does something without him even knowing.
Fitz was wrong for moving Olivia in the White House without her consent.
Fitz usually does one wrong against her laundry list of conniving moves as she tries to “fix” everything.
@@sierramcclary2897 u going under every comment
This scene summed up their relationship in 5 minutes.
I miss them 😥
Me too 😔😍
Now Olivia knows what mellie went through
