1971 Dodge Challenger R/T RT in Yellow & 426 Hemi Engine Sound on My Car Story with Lou Costabile

- On “My Car Story” we're in Rosemont IL at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals on 11-16-17.
We’re looking at a 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T in Citron Yella (Yes, Yella is the correct spelling for this color Dodge Paint Code) Paint. This car features the upgraded factory installed 426 CI Hemi engine.
The car's Owner is Kevin Kuypers. Kevin’s had this car since 2016. Kevin shares details of how he and his Brother In Law like to buy cool cars. After a discussion with his Brother In Law Dave, he was convinced to buy it. In my opinion, it’s easy to see why Kevin would want to by this car.

NICE CAR I BOUGHT a 38,900 mile 71 challenger RT for 5,000.00 in 1990 same colour RUST FREE 383 magnum 727 auto 4.10 gears slap stick shifter track pack car I miss my e body Chryslers and my Dad he worked for Chrysler 50s till 1974 ////// we still have his 1949 chrysler

I had a 70 RT/SE 440six pack pistol grip .silver gray none shaker hood..when I bought it found out it was a fake with a cracked K frame. Didn't have the skills to fix plus it was a fake (mid 80's)sold it cheap brought a L78 396 camaro with a LS6 454 out of a 70 chevelle.not sure which one I miss the most. Those were the days. It's these guys again who own an orange Dodge Challenger! Well, looking at my previous comment, I really don't have to say anything here. A little minimal comment would help. "The yellow paint and black paint is a Bumblebee Challenger!!! The vinyl top "no questions asked", John. Anyways, how is the MCACN event still going on? I though it lasted 2 days, due to their website.

The only one? I have a 1970 Dodge Challenger 4spd Yellow R/T setting in my garage right now all numbers matching. Maybe I missed something. The Challenge that is sitting in my garage is a 1 owner car.

@@loucostabile No sir it has the 440 Magnum 4 spd. My dad bought it new in 1970. Richard Petty signed the window sticker when he bought it. My dad took out the original 383 Magnum and it now sets in a creat. It still runs good. He wanted to save the motor. I was told Mr Petty canceled it for some reason and ordered a different one. Dad said he spent an extra $200 on the car because the signature. It was sitting on one of those rotating pedestals and I guess my dad made the best offer so he took it home. I just lost my dad about 2 weeks ago, so I’m going through some things to find out if I will be the original owner of a car older than me. Lots of calls are being made. Trying to be patient.
