A book called "The Unknown Warrior" by Nicholas Pringle was based on him collecting hundreds of accounts of British soldiers who participated in WW2. The consensus was:
    • A feeling of regret at having even bothered to fight at all
    • A deep worry about what kind of country their grandchildren will inherit
    • Despair at the collapse of morals and community
    • Feeling like strangers in their own towns and cities
This was in 2005. What would they think today?
A few excerpts from the book:
"Yes I served six years for this country, for what?"
"It's a pity H___r did not get here"
"If I had my time over again, I would never had gone"

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

*sigh* I hate it when people try and use predicate logic to analyse nuanced real-world situations or discussions, as if it is capital-L "Logic" or models the real world in any meaningful sense. For a start, it isn't applicable to real world discussions like this; OP's message was clearly intended as a maxim, rather than a truth-valued statement in any kind of rigorous logical system.
Furthermore, I see no possibility or necessity, I assume you're not taking modalities into account here?
Please, please don't be this guy. Predicate logic (I assume you're working in that framework) is merely one framework, and should not be applied to complex real-life discussions like a robot. There are several paradoxes of material implication, the principle of explosion etc. that make what you are doing incredibly silly; not to mention a veritable cornucopia of different logical systems which have rules that I'm sure would surprise you, yet have no less claim to being the capital-L "Logic" of the world.
You could have continued after "this is a separate issue" with a reasoned response, adding useful information, having a conversation discussing the topic at hand; but you instead resorted to meaningless symbol manipulation in a system you clearly don't understand the implications or history of, to try and win an argument. That is incredibly bad faith.

@@GuyDude-hk8uy all you have said is that you don’t like logic applied to this situation with hundreds of words. Care to try an actual refutation? I actually have a point, and a demonstrable one when it is admitted that NOT all wars are banker’s wars, as per the OP. If you come up with an actual refutation to what I said earlier, I will take you seriously and we can have a discussion; otherwise, I will ignore what you write as meaningless pseudo-intellectual semantic tripe.
(Edit) it is also not in the interests of most comment writers on TH-cam to have highly nuanced comments. YT comments are generally written by people with a life, who have discussions in between more important daily tasks. If you’re wanting a highly nuanced and idealistic discussion, try a different platform.

The Soviet Union was not on the brink of collapse, considering they had just steamrolled the Germans for the second half of Operation Babarossa. A lot of historians agree that if the West and Soviets went to war immediately after WW2 the west would win, but only after millions of lives lost and years of fighting. Considering MacArthur was still employed and being at war with the nuclear powered west would have accelerated Soviet nuclear programs, possibly leading to nuclear war.
But the west didn't defeat the Soviets because it would have been far, far too costly.

Also (in German): "1939 - Der Krieg, der viele Väter hatte" by Gerd Schultze-Rhonhof.
And: "Roosevelts Weg zum Krieg" by Dirk Bavendamm (also in German). That book is very revealing about the advent of WWII in Europe, as it highlights FDR's meddling in European diplomacy and politics, defying Congress' non-interventionalist policy.
The point is that the publicly disseminated narrative about the allegedly "good" war against the Third Reich is deeply flawed to a level that it equals a blatant lie. Part of that deception building is the grotesque exaggeration of the casualty count of the Jewish persecution and deportations. There is no shred of a tangible proof for the assumption that this was a planned genocide, but this narrative was simply too obvious as not to be picked up from the ruins of WWII and turned into another allegation towards the vanquished Germans, together with that other pillar of the same building, the allegedly sole war responsibility.

The Germans were never our natural foes, at no point. Not in 1914, and not in 1939 either! What is often forgotten was that England, and later Britain had been friends with the German states for centuries before 1914, and many, if not most, British people had a dream of an Anglo-German Alliance, especially in the 1890s.

Forget that the Nazis drew up plans to invade the uk during the war? Maybe Germany got hostile toward the uk, when the uk said they weren’t just allowed to genocide millions of people. Maybe Germany broke multiple rules of the treaty of Versailles before making an unprovoked attack on a fully sovereign nation known as Poland (which they were threatened with war if they did so) maybe it’s because an insane tyrant by the name of “Adolf Hitler” took control of Germany and made increasingly racist and discriminatory policies against Jews and so called “other inferior ethnic groups”

You can’t possibly disagree that Hitler broke the treaty of Versailles. For instance: Hitler remilitarized the Rhineland. Right there he broke it. Fact.
You have got to be blind, deaf and dumb if you believe any claim that the invasion of Poland was provoked. Like you’re just insane if you think that.
Also claims that Hitler “never wanted war with Britain” false. It’s clearly obvious that the events of the 1930s show that Hitler had gone back on that idea. Especially during the times where Britain and France tried to use appeasement to avoid war and subdue Hitlers greed.
Just realized that you seem to suggest that Hitler didn’t truly try to kill or capture the B.E.F? If that were the case Hitler wouldn’t have encircled them at dunkirk smh. It’s true that he (or the rest of the high command I can’t remember) had ordered his tanks to halt because he were worried of being vulnerable by over extending his forces and being counter attacked from behind. But again you’re utterly stupid if you believe that the Luftwaffe bombing the shit out of Royal Navy ships trying to evacuate the B.E.F. Was Hitlers attempt at not killing them to continue pursuing peace negotiations.

But the wealth and stability of the 50s and early 60s would have existed without the war, but things were declining by the laye 60s... the question is would things have been better without the fallout from the war? Of course, with no Cold War, Marshall plan, Vietnam, Korea, Isreal, etc...
