I used to think the blue arrow was the avatar symbol when I first watched it when I was younger too. There’s moments where he’d be like “I’m the avatar” and point to his arrow so I can see how ppl get it mixed up.

But to be fair in Avatar you really could say that the arrow stands for the Avatar because firenation killed every airbending master so that there is no other person with that arrow ;)

Lore drops are exquisitely-paced. The word-building is detailed and meticulous (as much as it needs to be), and you can really tell that so much care went into producing this show. Character development. Plot twists. Humor. Incredibly serious topics for a (not-a) kids' show. You're going to love it. I haven't even started the video yet, so I don't yet know why you "hated" the show, but I am confident that will change. ❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣
Some of the best shows about growing up begin as sort of childish. It just shows how much we change when we grow up, & become more mature. My favorite show ever is Adventure Time, and it is much the same way- the first two seasons are pretty simple & immature, but it really just makes you let your guard down so it can hit you with one gut punch after another as the story & lore keep growing... & the characters go from being silly 2d charicatures to deep, nuanced individuals. Really amazing how they did that, nothing else has ever done it quite like Adventure Time. But Avatar did it in its own way, starting with a full story & expanding on it with the characters bit by bit. I honestly have a ton of respect for that kind of story structure, props to the writers of these children's shows for having something to say & expressing it to the audience in a way that encourages children to think about deeper themes & different perspectives. They have stuck with me more than most media has over the years

But once you’re old enough to appreciate that these are children affected by war and forced to grow up fast, and that they still deserve to be children, you may look past or even appreciate how childish it can be. Also, you gave up after watching what is pretty universally considered the worst episode of the show, so just make it past that this time and you’ll be in the clear!

the ATLA franchise is the best Nickelodeon cartoon series Nick ever made. And book 1 is great but the weakest of the 3 books books 2 and 3 are so much better you will truly love them and ATLA was made for the kids-teens and The Legends of Korra was made for teens-young adults so the content gets a little more aged appropriate. and please never mention the movie The Last Airbender it is bad and hated for several reasons but one being the whole name thing they had to do

No, the arrow tattoos are only given to Air bending masters, to replicate the arrows in the flying bisons. It means Aang is a very talented young master already. It will be explored more down the line, but a key to being a master is creating your own technique, and foe Aang it's the air scooter move.
If you gave up cause of episode 11 being childish, that is very understandable. That specific episode is regarded as the worst, I urge you to continue watching past that one bump in the road.
