The way Link cooks a toaster strudel is literally the only way to get them cooked all the way through without burning the outside. I have done this for years!
Yes! I disagree (often vehemently) with some of Link's stances but I am 100% on board that fruited pastries like these (and yes, apple pie!) are best when there are no fruit chunks to deal with. Give me either fresh, still crunchy fruit or give me goo! Anything in-between someone just gave up halfway through making it.
@@sandreaandrea the fruit pieces get all slimy and gross in the yogurt 😔 I can only really handle fresh fruit, meanwhile cooked fruit, yogurt fruit, and even smoothies all give me the ick
Me too! Warm up the insides with the microwave, just barely toast the outside with the toaster. Toaster alone doesn't cook the insides unless you completely burn the outside.
I’ve always hated fruit things with real fruit pieces in it and nobody understands. there is something offputting about warm fruit to me so thank you Link for making me feel validated🤣🤣 and apple goo is delicious Apple pie would be my favorite if it was just that
The inconsistency is the issue. Some pieces are crunchy while others are soft, they don’t warm to equal temperature, and you bite in and get the nice goo and then you just got a semi-hard chunk of goo just cos they wanted to look healthier.
It is! Haven’t y’all ever had a Hostess Fruit Pie? They’re nothing BUT crust and goo. If there’s any fruit in there, it’s so small that it’s become goo-like anyway.
For the longest time thought it was normal to heat the lunchables pizzas in the microwave. We always did that when I was a kid and at one point I started noticing other kids were bringing their lunchable pizzas to school cold. I asked my mom if I could bring mine to school and she gave me a look of disbelief and said I couldn’t because I wouldn’t be able to microwave it lmao

In my jail we just put cold water in the bag. Let it sit for a while then eventually drained it. You could all sorts of toppings from chili to cheese or pickles or any baggable protein (more than I thought existed). Any savory goodness. Extremely unhealthy.
I get the "I like cold pockets" logic. I really like fresh made, warm sweet tea with plenty of added ice. The bits where the melted cool ice meets the warm tea is the best.
I used to love toaster strudels when they had that cream-cheese-only version but I'm not a fan of the fruit filling. They got rid of the ones with *only* cream cheese ):

A lot of times I'll top it with some combination of crumbled bacon or breakfast sausage, an over-easy egg, green onion, maybe a little sour cream and/or Chalula hot sauce... perfection.
I’m kind of loving Links explanation of fruit pies. I avoid them BECAUSE of the fruit chunks. The types of fruits that are used, I have a texture aversion to. Thank you Link for understanding!
The sweet ones aren't my thing but I love me some breakfast ones every so many years! I have IBS but I suffer anyway. Like how some lactose intolerant people will suffer for a bowl of ice cream lmao
Toaster scrambles actually tell you to microwave it for 10 seconds before you toast it. I’ve started to do that for both toaster strudels and toaster scrambles now.
I'm with Link on his toaster strudel technique. I do the same thing for frozen mini pot pies. It's way faster and easier to microwave them first and then put them in the toaster oven. It gets the right amount of toastage without burning and the quick cooking without the typical sogginess of the microwave.

One pack of shrimp flavor Ramen seasoning on popcorn is incredibly good. Just discovered it on a whim.
