NIOH 2 BUILD [DOTD]: Yokai Shift Build [Hybrid Ninjutsu] "Tengu Slayer"

- Since Yokai Shift has been drastically nerfed in the NIOH 2, it's almost impossible to keep it alive for the entire fight using just melee attacks.
So in this build, I'll spam ninjutsu and yokai abilities alongside the extended yokai shift, amrita gauge charge, and anima charge in the yokai form to attack enemies. (You can skip the ninjutsu animation by using yokai ability so every time I use ninjutsu I immediately use a yokai ability Gozuki or Otakemaru)
I tried the other way around and work on the amrita gauge charge instead of ninjutsu power but that failed horribly.
The hardest battle for this build was Yoshitsune because of his immunity to elemental attacks, so I had to use scampuss cats to use it to my advantage.

Can you explain more about “How to transform”? What does these steps achieve extra to just shifting like normal?
Before transforming I select saoirse and use its guardian ability which is an extreamly powerfull pleiades this helps maintaining amrita gauge during yokai shift. Then i use all my omnyo talismans like extraction protection and ... then i switch back to nekomata which is a feral and has yokai ability dmg boost and anima bonus from ninjutsu and then I shift into yokai form.

Hey quick question. I’m trying to make this build as I already run anima ninjutsu, but what is the purpose for melee damage vs electrified/zero ki star roll on accessories? You are not physically attacking right? Just using feather cancels into Yokai abilities?
No purpose really, star rolls are not mandatory just a boost when you use final blow. On rare occasions i use melee just feathers and yokai ability. soul cores with anima charge stats are important

Adddicteddd How are you cancelling the feather animation? Gozuki/Otakemaru and what else?
Technically all yokai abilities cancel feather animations from what I know

Is the switchglaive itself mandatory or can I use any primary weapon as long as it has atk bonus and kuzuryu grace?
No any corropted weapon with kuzuryu's grace and attack bonus preferably skill or dex can work. Switchglaive's rakshasa skill will help when you're out of archyokai but it's not that important.
Thx for the reply, another question if you don't mind, for anima bonus ninjutsu hit do you recall what the damage rating was on the soul core before you transferred it?, I can reach B rating on my version of the soul core when fully ranked but when I go to soul match it's only transferring at D
it was -D or D, D is ok and it will stack with nekomata's anima bonus
Why would u need a corrupted weapon? U dont hit with it anyway xD

I think if your companion engages in close combat and not ranged attack this works perfectly
Why do u need attack since u just spam ninjutsus? Well, for Minamoto ofc but apart from that ?
it's just for higher dmg on final blows
Its not that yokai shift is nerfed, they buffed it the thing is that it just never was strong to begin with.
you know the stat nullify damage was stronger on the soul cores and clan. you could make an immortal yokai with 99% nullify dmg at the earlier updates.
but all in all yokai shift was weaker than nioh 1 to begin with.
@@Adddicteddd Yea i know about that part, but that is not a nerf to the shift itself. The shift just is rather weak, and need a big damage boost+ some skills that each shift can use just like how weapons have.
Lol only build i have luck build at lvl 145 luck at 147 plus swallow full set
