Some stuff i'd like to share as well:) 1. If forging weapons early on in the game, bronze will be pretty hard to find and will appear only after you finish the third dungeon. I'm this because a lot of recipes in both forging and crafting will need bronze. 2. Make sure to stack up on boiled eggs, hot milk and milk porridges(honestly any pot recipes besides jams) early on in the game if your level is below 70, these types of food will heal you completely both HP and RP and will help you tremendously especially in hard mode. 3. If you want to earn gold fast, you have 4 options: - Either sell monster drops - Mine ore and sell those - Cook dishes then sell them - Or forge and craft materials and sell those(i mostly do these though) 4. This probably is kinda obvious but really try your best and win the festivals because the prizes are really good, especially early on in the game. You can get stuff that can boost your stats, recipe breads, dishes, etc. Thanks for reading!

Here's a tip to get oil! If you go to the delirium lava ruins and defeat the goblin pirates, they will drop oil!!! They're pretty weak so defeating them is pretty easy. But if u befriend them, they won't drop oil in the barn:( (I tried lol)

Theres two mechanics this game does not explain that everyone should know. Its called max level and overriding these mechanics are unlocked at level 50 for smithing and crafting and will allow you to benifit from material and gear level as well as replace a lower tiers piece of equipments base stats with another higher tier weapons stats. for ever 10 levels a piece of gear has it gets a bonus to its stats so as an example by crafting a broadsword with all level 10 materials and filling all 6 slots your weapon will have a level of 60 and by upgrading it with all level 10 material items it will add another 10 levels for each material item plus the base 10 levels the sword will have when fully upgraded. in the end this will scale the weapons stats up for every 10 levels you get turning a basic broad sword that does around 15 damage into a sword that does 250 damage. Factor in later game weapons with over 1000 damage base stat the bonus added is night and day. this works with pretty much every piece of armor and weapon and can break the early game and make the later game much more bareable. Now on the other hand theres overriding which will replace a lower tier weapons base stats with a higher tier weapons base stat an example would be using a rune legend to boost a broadswords damage to match the base damage of the rune legend. This also works on accessories by using and piece of equipment in the recipe of an item will rather swap the base stats of the equipment or add the effect of the item to the item being made. the main utility of override is to make a cheaper weapon or piece of gear you like the look of share the same stats of a late game weapon or combine the effects of accessories. keep in mind the open slots when crafting any gear also counts to its overall level and to override you have to use the gear you want to use as override material as actual material. You cant combine several weapons to add all their base stats and the recipe still has to include the base materials to make the item but any level 10 material can be used to boost the max level regardless of what the material item is so the easiest and cheapest material is level 10 ternip seeds so make a broadsword with level 10 iron a level 10 weapon you want to override it with and the other 4 slots 4 level 10 ternip seeds this will give it a total level of 61and by upgrading now add 9 level 10 ternip seeds and that will boost the level to 160 keep in mind the displayed level after upgrading a weapon to level 10 is also added so the overall level is 160 but excluding the weapons base level its 150 extra levels. This will absolutely break the early game and will make you borderline unkillable till you reach the end of ark 2 and start of 3 so it may be better to wait till after arc 2 to do this if you want to maintain the level of diffculty for the first 2 arcs. Now for people who want to break the early to mid game over their knee the "fastest" way to level up is by crafting gear roughly the same level as your current level or upgrading weapons to level 10. While slightly slower its infinitely cheaper to upgrade a piece of gear over and over this will give you a nice chunk of exp regardless of the gear and within an hour or two of doing this you can max your crafting and forging levels to 100. Sadly the mid game recipes for most gear are not viable to level from sense they cost a lot of materials that are hard to come by early game so my personal advice is to upgrade with ternip seeds they are insanely cheap and you can buy them in bulk and then upgrading rather the tier 1 hoe or a broadsword sense each one only costs 1 iron per. I've made a big mistake. I'm still Arc 1 and I took the quest that says I need to make everyone level 5 and above. I forgot that I need to finish Arc 2 before I can raise Doug's level to 4. Now I can't have anymore new seeds to buy 😭
Does anyone know how to give monsters fodder, I have looked all over the internet and it says to out it in a folder box but I don't know what that is and I have never seen it. All my animals stopped giving me items so I assume they need fodder but I can't feed them if I don't know where to put it.

Hopefully a new game comes out soon with better placement mechanics (but then again I'm spoiled from decorating in animal crossing)
@@demonheart13 Yeah, I played the 3DS game obsessively, but I was disappointed when the Special Switch version came out and the furniture mechanics were exactly as awful and they hadn't fixed any of my other criticisms (e.g. same sex marriage).
Hornets are dropping honey which you can sell for 1020 G on Level 10. Just throw the item each monster drops for about 10 days right back at them to level it up. If you have just one xtra or an expanded barn full of hornets this is 4080 G a day which isn't bad for the beginning. You can always get rid of them later on.
Did you know if your really lucky you can get an end game weapon from a random chest around the second dungeon. I got a Twin Justice because I saw a random gray chest at the start of the second dungeon and I like to open a chest when I see it. But the chances of that is really low and my point is open any chest you see because there is a chance you can get really good stuff or lots of healing items. If not the higher your level is for that the higher the chance you have of finding really good stuff. Just be careful though because sometimes those chest could be fake and be a monster pretending to be a chest.

Heres some general tips for the new players. 1. farm plots have thier own stats that govern the quality, size and growth speed of crops. This system allows players to heavily influence their crops over all productivity and even allows you to speed up crops massively. There are 4 items you will regularly use that are an absolute must to make farming much more enjoyable and profitable, these items are 1. greenifier: this will effect the quality of the crops you gather or sickle and will make leveling seeds faster. 2. formula: this effects the growth speed of all crops up to a 5x multiplyer making some crops grow in 1 day and make other late game crops grow in a few days to a little over a week vs a month 3. No rot: this lowers the general chance of a crop rotting and withering. 3. wettable powder: this will boost your crops defence stat which lowers the overall chance of being destroyed by bad weather an absolute must for high value crops. 4. giantizer: this will add a chance that a crop will become a giant crops which are used for later game recipes. Keep in mind all of these items will lower the hp of a plot but you can recover the max hp of your plot by tilling withered grass, corn and 4 leaf clovers with your hoe on the plot you want to recover hp with. its a gear idea to generally always have a magnifying glass on hand to see your crops stats and hp. 2. Do the requests given to you by the mail box. These will not only give you free stuff and prince/princess points but will unlock hidden mechanics like upgrading the seed level sold by the flower shop and general store. These also function as fairly decent tutorial for most of the games base mechanics like crafting upgrading raising crop levels or unlocking new seeds. Pretty much the progression to farming and crafting is tied to these requests so be sure to do them when you can. 3. Everything you do levels a stat or skill and every skill gives bonuses to related stats as well as a reduction to rp cost. Unlike games like harvest moon and stardew valley that make you go out of your way to boost energy or just dont have upgradable energy, rune factory actually has an energy system tied to leveling your skills. Your base 100 rp will eventually grow to be over 1000. so try to do a little bit of everything. 4. Growing crops will net you runies and orbs, runies or runes boost a core stat like hp strength defence and intelligence while orbs boost a skill by 1 level. So be sure to farm every now and again and to get the most out of this system if your not a huge farmer only harvest on high rune days. you can tell its a high rune day by literally seeing runes all over your screen simular to rain, trust me its hard to miss. These days tend to have a higher count of runes when your harvest and possibly a higher count of orbs not 100% on the orbs. rune days also give a massive progression boost to your crops so it may also grow crops you just planted overnight. 5.Dont ignore cooking, late game cooking is one of the best money makers and its the easiest way to get passive bonuses and restore your hp and rp. Some easy early revipes are flan grilled yams and pickled ternips these will restore a nice chunk of rp if not max it out and are also cheap to make. They also make the best gifts sense you will get a bonus on friendpoints if the gift is made by you. 6.On a side note if you want to use the late game override and max level system for the plant sword and shield do not upgrade the seeds level if you want a say on what upgrades they have. the higher the seeds level the more random bonuses it will have. This can be great if you luck out and get great materials but bad if you want to make the plant gear your main weapon. Mostly a tip for mid game players that. 7.At level 50 smithing and crafting you unlock maxleveling and overriding these mechanics are the core to making the best weapons id recommend reading my comment below or clicking one of the links i added to people who explain it infinitely better then i could. 8.The quality of your sickle and the quality of your farm plots from using greenifier effects the level of the seeds you can harvest from plants you grow. If you find your struggling to get a level 3 or 4 seed to level 5 or 6 it because your field is lacking or your tool is not up to snuff. Id recommend getting a better sickle above all else when you get your first bit of bronze. 9. Try to get the happy ring and the heart pendant as soon as possible, the heart pendant makes skills level faster and the happy ring boosts drop chance these will make leveling crafting alchemy forging and cooking faster as well as boost the drop chance of rare items like the heart crystal needed to make a heart pendant. One of the requests given by the 3rd npc you add to the village gives you a heart pendant it can also sometimes be a item sold by arthur 10. Check arthurs forcast and shop. Not only will his forcasts tell you the best day to harvest certain crops for bonus yield but his shop will sell hard to get and annoying items to farm like recipe bread rare gear and even lumber and material stone. He also will buy your rune coins but i generally ignored that mechanic all together sense the payout is fairly abysmal late game. Finally my advice to make money is to make a field with boosted speed and grow high value crops and late game grow gold crops so you can make the rare and elusive ternip heaven. Ternip heaven is one of if not the highest value food items and will net you an insane amount of cash. It sells for 150k per and once you start growing gold turnips is easy to make sense it only needs 1 turnip 1 gold turnip and 1 pink turnip add in if you boost the level of each crop to 10 you will make level 10 turnip heaven for an even bigger payout. i had close to 300mil purely from selling turnip heaven and never struggled for money from that point on so its absolutely a recipe worth getting. Crystal flowers are also great if you want to make stat boosting items like levelizer so late game cooking and alchemy are absolutely worth it.
Some more tips: You can sell timber and stone if you need money. Turnips are great to level early! They count as seasonal for the first three Harvest Festivals. Speaking of Festivals, you can save scum them- this is especially useful for players who want to win them in year one. With cases like the Fishing size festival, you can catch a fish and save right before the judging to randomize the winner. Upgrading armor and weapons will be the best way to level forging and crafting at least until the 50s! Make a basic hoe (joke semi-intended) and upgrade it with junk- literally anything works. Scrap metal, spare iron, leftover lower level seeds are especially useful for this. GIVE GIFTS! Most, if not all, NPCs will give you return gifts when given gifts consistently. This can be anything from common items like failed dishes to boss drops from Kiel and nutrients from Arthur. Vishal is probably one of the better human supports. Forte doesn't have a heart requirement to follow you. Spinach can be max leveled easily in Fall. Level requirements are nearly useless- areas are zoned more on your level of gear than anything else. So if you can't fight in an area, you probably need to advance story.
To follow up: Upgrading weapons/tools/armors etc stays the best way to level Forging and Crafting The Seasonal fields are useful for using Giantizer on drops- monsters working your farm won't collect them, they resist withering a little better, and they won't go out of season. Crop rotation is somewhat of a thing for the game. However, you can work around it by spamming nutrients when you get enough money, OR just leave the field spot empty a day or two. Venti's charm is one of the better until you get to late silver/gold territory. Once you get the Chemistry Table you can make Object X- combine it with the heart pendant and the fact that debuffs clear if you go to bed before (I think) 0100 to grind resistance to status debuffs. Crafting and forging of all kind is made to be geared toward you creating things at or near your level in that skill. Don't spend hours trying to create an item to boost max rp to find out that the game only gives you a bit more than an extra half of RP... (learned this one the very hard way. Ouch.) Despite the amount of teasing between characters of the same gender, if it's possible to marry them, it's still a community mystery on how. So if you have your heart set on a bachelor or bachelorette, make sure you start with the appropriate gender PC. (You can change your character from male to female post arc-2 BUT this is only in regards to appearance. )
I usually sells kohaku's boss item and thunderbolt boss item. Also when we sell something on our own store, I tend to sell dolce boss items. But any unshippable boss item might works
I accidentally started the 2nd arc before getting married. Should I start the game over? Because I'm trying marry Dylas but he won't accept the engagement ring. And Venti is passed out and I think she needs to be awake to marry us off.
You definitely don’t need to start the game over. To marry Doug, you need to finish the his story which is the 2nd arc. So you just need to go through this arc😊 Venti will recover as you go through the story too. Don’t worry

The developers of rune factory are also the devs for the harvest moon/story of seasons games! Some I would recommend is harvest moon tale of the two towns, and story of seasons friends of mineral town.
If you look on the description of items from monster drops it gives them all an attribute (e.g. ATK +5 or whatever). On your forge, go to upgrade weapon, then pop your weapon in one slot, a monster drop with an attribute you want to increase in the next and ta-da! Only other thing is on the description it also mentions an upgrade level. This corresponds to your forging level, and if the upgrade level is a lot higher than your forging level it's going to cost an impossible amount of RP. Lessen that by increasing your forging level. Early on in-game, the easiest way to do this is mine a tonne of iron, make a short or broad sword and upgrade it up to lv 10 with iron only with the pendant that increases skill gain on if you have it.
Regarding clorica throwing food at you... if you lucky, she will throw royal curry food, which u can sell for......500k gold!

I didn't know there was a special edition. How is it different from the original 3DS version?

Heres some general tips for the new players.
1. farm plots have thier own stats that govern the quality, size and growth speed of crops. This system allows players to heavily influence their crops over all productivity and even allows you to speed up crops massively. There are 4 items you will regularly use that are an absolute must to make farming much more enjoyable and profitable, these items are
1. greenifier: this will effect the quality of the crops you gather or sickle and will make leveling seeds faster.
2. formula: this effects the growth speed of all crops up to a 5x multiplyer making some crops grow in 1 day and make other late game crops grow in a few days to a little over a week vs a month
3. No rot: this lowers the general chance of a crop rotting and withering.
3. wettable powder: this will boost your crops defence stat which lowers the overall chance of being destroyed by bad weather an absolute must for high value crops.
4. giantizer: this will add a chance that a crop will become a giant crops which are used for later game recipes.
Keep in mind all of these items will lower the hp of a plot but you can recover the max hp of your plot by tilling withered grass, corn and 4 leaf clovers with your hoe on the plot you want to recover hp with. its a gear idea to generally always have a magnifying glass on hand to see your crops stats and hp.
2. Do the requests given to you by the mail box. These will not only give you free stuff and prince/princess points but will unlock hidden mechanics like upgrading the seed level sold by the flower shop and general store. These also function as fairly decent tutorial for most of the games base mechanics like crafting upgrading raising crop levels or unlocking new seeds. Pretty much the progression to farming and crafting is tied to these requests so be sure to do them when you can.
3. Everything you do levels a stat or skill and every skill gives bonuses to related stats as well as a reduction to rp cost. Unlike games like harvest moon and stardew valley that make you go out of your way to boost energy or just dont have upgradable energy, rune factory actually has an energy system tied to leveling your skills. Your base 100 rp will eventually grow to be over 1000. so try to do a little bit of everything.
4. Growing crops will net you runies and orbs, runies or runes boost a core stat like hp strength defence and intelligence while orbs boost a skill by 1 level. So be sure to farm every now and again and to get the most out of this system if your not a huge farmer only harvest on high rune days. you can tell its a high rune day by literally seeing runes all over your screen simular to rain, trust me its hard to miss. These days tend to have a higher count of runes when your harvest and possibly a higher count of orbs not 100% on the orbs. rune days also give a massive progression boost to your crops so it may also grow crops you just planted overnight.
5.Dont ignore cooking, late game cooking is one of the best money makers and its the easiest way to get passive bonuses and restore your hp and rp. Some easy early revipes are flan grilled yams and pickled ternips these will restore a nice chunk of rp if not max it out and are also cheap to make. They also make the best gifts sense you will get a bonus on friendpoints if the gift is made by you.
6.On a side note if you want to use the late game override and max level system for the plant sword and shield do not upgrade the seeds level if you want a say on what upgrades they have. the higher the seeds level the more random bonuses it will have. This can be great if you luck out and get great materials but bad if you want to make the plant gear your main weapon. Mostly a tip for mid game players that.
7.At level 50 smithing and crafting you unlock maxleveling and overriding these mechanics are the core to making the best weapons id recommend reading my comment below or clicking one of the links i added to people who explain it infinitely better then i could.
8.The quality of your sickle and the quality of your farm plots from using greenifier effects the level of the seeds you can harvest from plants you grow. If you find your struggling to get a level 3 or 4 seed to level 5 or 6 it because your field is lacking or your tool is not up to snuff. Id recommend getting a better sickle above all else when you get your first bit of bronze.
9. Try to get the happy ring and the heart pendant as soon as possible, the heart pendant makes skills level faster and the happy ring boosts drop chance these will make leveling crafting alchemy forging and cooking faster as well as boost the drop chance of rare items like the heart crystal needed to make a heart pendant. One of the requests given by the 3rd npc you add to the village gives you a heart pendant it can also sometimes be a item sold by arthur
10. Check arthurs forcast and shop. Not only will his forcasts tell you the best day to harvest certain crops for bonus yield but his shop will sell hard to get and annoying items to farm like recipe bread rare gear and even lumber and material stone. He also will buy your rune coins but i generally ignored that mechanic all together sense the payout is fairly abysmal late game.
Finally my advice to make money is to make a field with boosted speed and grow high value crops and late game grow gold crops so you can make the rare and elusive ternip heaven. Ternip heaven is one of if not the highest value food items and will net you an insane amount of cash. It sells for 150k per and once you start growing gold turnips is easy to make sense it only needs 1 turnip 1 gold turnip and 1 pink turnip add in if you boost the level of each crop to 10 you will make level 10 turnip heaven for an even bigger payout. i had close to 300mil purely from selling turnip heaven and never struggled for money from that point on so its absolutely a recipe worth getting. Crystal flowers are also great if you want to make stat boosting items like levelizer so late game cooking and alchemy are absolutely worth it.

Some more tips:
You can sell timber and stone if you need money.
Turnips are great to level early! They count as seasonal for the first three Harvest Festivals.
Speaking of Festivals, you can save scum them- this is especially useful for players who want to win them in year one. With cases like the Fishing size festival, you can catch a fish and save right before the judging to randomize the winner.
Upgrading armor and weapons will be the best way to level forging and crafting at least until the 50s! Make a basic hoe (joke semi-intended) and upgrade it with junk- literally anything works. Scrap metal, spare iron, leftover lower level seeds are especially useful for this.
GIVE GIFTS! Most, if not all, NPCs will give you return gifts when given gifts consistently. This can be anything from common items like failed dishes to boss drops from Kiel and nutrients from Arthur.
Vishal is probably one of the better human supports.
Forte doesn't have a heart requirement to follow you.
Spinach can be max leveled easily in Fall.
Level requirements are nearly useless- areas are zoned more on your level of gear than anything else. So if you can't fight in an area, you probably need to advance story.

Upgrading weapons/tools/armors etc stays the best way to level Forging and Crafting
The Seasonal fields are useful for using Giantizer on drops- monsters working your farm won't collect them, they resist withering a little better, and they won't go out of season.
Crop rotation is somewhat of a thing for the game. However, you can work around it by spamming nutrients when you get enough money, OR just leave the field spot empty a day or two.
Venti's charm is one of the better until you get to late silver/gold territory.
Once you get the Chemistry Table you can make Object X- combine it with the heart pendant and the fact that debuffs clear if you go to bed before (I think) 0100 to grind resistance to status debuffs.
Crafting and forging of all kind is made to be geared toward you creating things at or near your level in that skill. Don't spend hours trying to create an item to boost max rp to find out that the game only gives you a bit more than an extra half of RP... (learned this one the very hard way. Ouch.)
Despite the amount of teasing between characters of the same gender, if it's possible to marry them, it's still a community mystery on how. So if you have your heart set on a bachelor or bachelorette, make sure you start with the appropriate gender PC.
(You can change your character from male to female post arc-2 BUT this is only in regards to appearance. )
Boss item also might help us to get some money faster

@@MilkyT depends on how high the item level is, you can get money by that. I prefer use this method rather than selling crops tho
I usually sells kohaku's boss item and thunderbolt boss item. Also when we sell something on our own store, I tend to sell dolce boss items. But any unshippable boss item might works

You definitely don’t need to start the game over. To marry Doug, you need to finish the his story which is the 2nd arc. So you just need to go through this arc😊 Venti will recover as you go through the story too. Don’t worry

The developers of rune factory are also the devs for the harvest moon/story of seasons games! Some I would recommend is harvest moon tale of the two towns, and story of seasons friends of mineral town.

You will be able to upgrade them yourself later on in the game.
If you look on the description of items from monster drops it gives them all an attribute (e.g. ATK +5 or whatever). On your forge, go to upgrade weapon, then pop your weapon in one slot, a monster drop with an attribute you want to increase in the next and ta-da! Only other thing is on the description it also mentions an upgrade level. This corresponds to your forging level, and if the upgrade level is a lot higher than your forging level it's going to cost an impossible amount of RP. Lessen that by increasing your forging level. Early on in-game, the easiest way to do this is mine a tonne of iron, make a short or broad sword and upgrade it up to lv 10 with iron only with the pendant that increases skill gain on if you have it.
