You are so blessed to have had your rotty buddy for 13 years. Wow! Please tell me your secret. I lost my best friend fur baby (a rottweiler also) a few months ago. He was one month short of his 10th birthday. I was hoping to beat the odds and have him a few more years. I miss mine so much too, I understand how you feel. Sorry for your loss. It's like losing a child and best friend all in one.
Yep, mine have all gone now. The last one developed a brain tumor and went from everyone's pal to wanting to kill anyone he saw. I got him through the people thing without incident, but then he went from happy, gentle, affectionate pal to finally growling at me. It was awful. My vet hadn't seen that for years, but he agreed it was time to let him go before someone would be attacked, maybe even me. It was awful but had to be done.
I work with working line Rottweilers. He was correct with socialising them as this is a must from the first day you get one but training is also essential. This will give you the foundation for your Rottie to trust you and see you as his/her boss. Even if you are using a professional trainer, be there and join in. The Rottweiler is a very dominant breed. That means if you are not his boss, he will want to be yours. This will last for their entire lives. A relaxed and content Rottweiler knows you make decisions and he will follow them, trusting you to be right. If your dog is making his own decisions, that is an issue. As for food, of course you can feed your dog kibble. Unlike this video I am not being paid to advertise a company - Give them good quality food and they will be fine. Just be careful with the amount as they are massive over eaters. Be prepared to alter the food intake as and when you need to (weigh your dog monthly). Groom your dog because it helps build a wonderful bond, but more importantly you will be able to feel any lumps or bumps. Rottweilers are unfortunately prone to cancer and more than half die due to the disease. Rottweilers are VERY loyal dogs. They will fall in love with their family and want to be a part of their lives. But don't be surprised if your dog has a bond with one family member much deeper than anyone else. Rotties do this. That person will not be able to shower on their own, go to the toilet on their own or generally be on their own ha. This person quite often is not their actual owner! Two things you should never actually do. Firstly, encourage him or her to guard or act aggressively. In the wrong hands you are encouraging bad behaviour. Imagine a dog who is making its own decisions and has been encouraged to act aggressively. Its a recipe for disaster. Trust me when I say this. The dog you may consider wouldn't hurt a fly and is soft will act when you need them - They do not need training unless they are going into security. Secondly do not encourage them to jump things. They are big dogs and can be prone to hip and elbow dysplasia. A Rottie can jump well over six foot straight up, but don't let them know they can ha. As a Rottie owner you are taking on all those negative stereotypes head on. Don't do anything to give anyone a reason to be fearful of your dog. We are guardians of the breed.
I absolutely agree with everything you said, especially being their guardians. I've had rescued rotties exclusively since 1994, and I can't say enough about the breed. But if you don't have your personal self together, this is not the dog for you. So sadly, all six of mine have died of cancer at 10 or younger.
@@lburgess63 Sorry to hear that. Of all the ones I've had, only one has ever gone over ten. Losing any dog is hard. My last (personal) Rottweiler went at 5 due to an issue with its heart. That was a few years back and I still am not 'there' yet to be able to offer one what it needs to be everything it can be.
I have few different dog breeds and now rottweiler just blow my mind what a wonderful breed, intelligence is on another level, kidness towards other people Wow! Absolutely amazing 😍 Great family member 👍👍
A velcro dog! That's the best way I have heard them described. They want to do everything their owner does and eager to please. Can't imagine my life without a Rottie now...
they truly are amazing, im in awe with mine everytime we train, the speed of understanding new things is what is really amazing to see, you can have the dog never see something or how it works but will instantly understand it like he is used to it from always, i took my barely 1 year old lil rottie to the agility track, she never seen one never been to one never saw any dog do anything like that, so i just went in the course with her and let her explore, in her exploring she already figured out how to do most of the things there, the bridge, ladder, climbing obstacle, swing and tunnels were mere jokes to her, she did it all perfectly on her own with no fear whatsoever like she would do it every day,if you saw her you would think all we do is train agility but we dont, all we do is have fun, i let her climb on things, chase stuff, search for stuff, basically i let her be a dog and she repays that with obedience and with beeing a generaly good and well behaved doggo. I love how at night, when she knows her work for the day is over and she can let go, she wants to always come to snuggle with me and seeks my company actively, if only just so she can lie next to me and her butt touching me is enough for her to be super happy about it. They truly are wonderfull doggos and at least for me, i will always have a rottie in my home, possibly there will be more but always there will be at least one, as long as im alive
I have rotties for years and years and i adore them but when they r gone they leave a huge void in my life and it takes me a long time to heal from that. Oh and all of them loved going to the vet as they love the attention and they know its all about them.

My deceased buddy, from the eternal hunting grounds (heaven) has sent another dog my way, after a week.I went and bought a brindle colored Akita Inu female, 2.5 months old. She's really growing on me. Very smart already at this young age. I wanted to get another rottie, but an aquaintance of mine who breeds them told me all his rotties died of cancer/tumor - none of them died of old age. I don' t think I can go through such an episode again. The Akita Inu is a very healthy dog and has a higher life span, 10-12 years. I feel we will have a nice life together. Cheers and peace, Sir!
I am 75 Just got my first Rottweiler two years ago. (Labs before) Butkus is a fantastic animal. Just as loving as a Lab, yet more protective. He trained very well. Always wants to please. As a puppy, you must be patient. They need lots of room and exercise. They eat everything in sight. Furniture, lawn ornaments, and your garden hose is a special treat. We feed him quality kibble with two eggs in the morning. Cheap chicken thigh-leg (treat) in the afternoon and kibble ground beef (The cheapest you can find) in the evening. Also, the local butcher likes him, so he gets regular bones to gnaw on.
I wish I would have known this sooner. I got my Rottie during the pandemic and didn’t socialize her like I should’ve. Now she is reactive towards other dogs. BUT I love her so so much. She is great with kids and her little 10 pound Chihuahua brother. ❤️
do not worry you are not too late to fix it, as long as she is willing to learn you will find it very doable, i have and older lab/rottie of 7years and a younger one which is now 14 months and i learned alot from both but specifically i learned this lesson with the older one very recently, we tought that she was not willing to learn any advanced stuff and so the guy that help me train her at the time , a k9 officer and i decided we are not gonna push her, i wanted her to learn more stuff so we could do more stuff together but she was content with fetch swimming and running, turns out the now old(er) girl has the willingness to learn, she just didnt find it fun at the time, but now that she saw me train the younger one and how much fun she couldve had, now she decided she does want to learn but only in a certain way, the way i do it with the younger one, so do not give up on your rottie, she has loads more in store for you all you need is the will to do it as well as its not fair to her, she would never give up on you and she will give her life to you so its only fair you do the same, i wish you all the luck and success with her

I have had 13 rottweilers in my entire life, and I am 40. Many have won awards in both obedience and IPO. Many of your points are not true at all, with a strong leader your dog will always be your follower. With food, you don't have to give it MUSH (raw meat) at all, find a feed with the right ingredients. This video gave me about a 2 out of 10 how to care for a rottweiler...

I've had Rotts now for about 30 years, got my first one at the pound. I groom dogs and cats, and my dogs (4 generations now) have helped me by picking up my tools that get kicked across the room by animals that I'm working on. Sometimes it would be tough for me to let go of whatever I'm working on. they also pick up things around the house for me and in the yard, gloves, cell phone, blue tooth earbud . Keeps them from being destructive too. Less chewing things up if they know they get a treat for bringing things to me. Great job for them. he female I have now even trains pups to be leash trained. She drags them around on leash till they walk beside her. Happy minds and hearts.
Hi, Thanks for the video, there is another point don’t leave your rottweiler alone for too long. He’ll surely get into trouble if left alone for too long!
I'm on my third rottie and they are the best dogs. I've had two females and one male. I've found the females to be more layed back and my male was a little more aggressive but all in all they are great dogs won't own any other breed. Unless I find another rescue .
Love your dog everything else will fall into place, common sense,my rotweiller was a teddy bear and had a Yorkie at the same time, they got on famously, but when something was up she was always on point, never had problems but could she feel your energy, the Yorkie was all bark and she would sit next to me as much as to say ,not my problem.simply great dogs treat them well your golden, the rottie is gone I still have the yorkie.once you have loved them sad as it is you can move on with a clear conscience
We have a beautiful Rottweiler who is very loving, only shows motion sickness, doesn't enjoy car rides. Taking her to the vet, becomes an ordeal at times.
I had that same problem with my Rotti girl and I was told she'd grow out of it. She didn't. I then tried a dramamine 1/2 hour before the care ride....YES!!! It works like a charm!
5 months ago I got a 7year old rescue female rotsky . She’s so loving towards me and she likes humans. But she is very reactive towards other dogs. Since I don’t know much about her background , it is quite a challenge to walk her when there are other dogs. One dog trainer told me she would never have doggie friends 😢and considers her more agressive than reactive. I still wonder if she will ever change at her age ? I guess she wasn’t socialized as a puppy. I do love her very much though
Rotties are quite an amazing breed. They desire attention and companionship . 😂. Ours thoroughly enjoy our time and daily activities. We’ve learned to be careful with their joints-careful of overworking and slippery surfaces. Great video!

well if he is not docked you can always tie the rake to his tail, he will figure out the rest im sure, mine is a rott/lab mix, working rott with show lab, so she short an stocky but has enormous power, i use her to plough the fields, i put a harness on her with the plough and a wurstel in front of her nose and we are off to the races, jokes aside the way they learn really fast im pretty sure one can get a rottie to do just about anything and the dog will do it and have fun doing it, they are so smart and have such great personalities i wonder how is anyone left on earth that says that they are dangerous, i met many of them, a friend of mine had a whole bunch of them through the years and yes the one im talking about is one of his and a product of true love between dogs, i know the whole story of how mine came to be and its a long one with details to put it simply, after long years of trying the labbie managed to finally get into the house of the rottie through a second floor window as they are neighbours, hump her, impregnate her, managed to not get stuck to her and ran away so no one was the wiser all in the matter of 5 minutes untill the neighbour from across the street told them what she saw. they been trying to get together for a few years by then and there was alot of doggo drama howling whining involved everytime she was in heat, like i said true love story :D
One of the most important things to never do to a rott his hit them. They are extremely intelligent and very trusting. Hitting a rott can leave an emotional scar on them, they know when they messed up and just the look on your face is enough to punish a rott. Very emotional, loving animals. Have you hugged a Rottweiler today? If not you don't know what you are missing.
both of my girls love going to the vet. and so many other places, like the beach, the mts in summer and winter snow. meeting new people, and other dogs. should have seen holly meeting a horse. or both of them after a lizard up on the slabs at loon lake.

Rottweilers are big shedders. They may not be long hairy beats, but their coat is thick and at least double-layered. If you plan on having your Rott inside, please note that your hoover will be having long, frequent exercises.
#1 should be NEVER leave the house without him or her. I did it, once.I got that scowl for hours when I got home.My Mike pouted. When I walked in the house, instead of running to greet me like when I come home from work,Mike just sat there, looking away from me.
30 minutes to an hour for exercise? Surly you jest. Take that up to 5 hours a day and I might believe you! LOL! I have a 6-month-old, and this boy bounces off the walls! As soon as his eyes are open, he is running! I love him so much, such a good dog he truly is! I cannot afford to feed him raw food. I buy him the best food I can afford, and he goes to the vet often. I have two very old Queensland Blue Healers, and they are food aggressive in their old age and he just looks at them like they are just grouchy old women. He doesn't even bother them at all. We have a younger pit bull mix female, and they play all day. He is a huge boy for 6 months and I am afraid I am so happy he came into our lives!
Good video but I think it would have been better titled as things you should always do if you have a Rottweiler. Every point you made was a double negative I.e. not,not exercise. Not, not socialise. Just a thought!
I really want to get a Rottweiler since my uncle had one and his dog was an absolute sweetheart, but I wanted to know, what’s the best amount of time they need for daily exercise? And are there any really good vids on reward based training as I’ve heard that’s the best for Rottweilers
I prefer 2 walks about thirty minutes to an hour each, going to parks or on hikes on the weekends, maybe take him to a lake or river for some play in the water. When you get home he'll usually be ready for a long lounge on the couch.
My rottweiler got away from me once. Ended up in the pound and the animal control officer loved him. The officer opened the door and my dog jumped right in
So have my first Rottweiler he’s my world but due to covid19 he was unable to get the socializing he needed and he had his first vet visit go bad the vet pulled him by his lead and thrusted him to the ground made him whimper and pee she said I needed to show him dominance I was in tears and wanted to grab her by the throat now he hates the vets and he has to be sedated every time and I hate giving him those hard core drugs so with that being said how can I get him socialized I’m scared to let him near my grandson in fear of him bitting him will training help to socialize
Hi I'm I owner of a 16 mth old rottweiler and had many in the past, your vet shouldn't of done that that's not on first off change vets, you need to make training and socialising your no 1 priority there so intelligent it won't take long start off just doing on in your neighbourhood when he/she sees another dog b4 he evens gets to the long stare they do and slow predotary walk you say his name is a high confident way with a treat in your hand and start walking the other way and giv treat and praise do this as training then you will start to see a difference don't rush training but it does need to be done daily, use the correct tool if he's a linger I'd be using a pinch /prong collar that give you bk control. Anyhow just a few hints and tips from a person that has a well mannered well socialised, off leash recall great rottweiler, b4 the army of prong collar haters come out, I use one and my girl gets so excited when she sees hers come out BC she knows it's time to go play and train, if used correctly there a great tool.
training will help sure but most of the work here is on you, you also shouldve prepared the dog for the vet better, and while i hate to say it but he was probably right with what he did, your doggo was just scared because he was in that position for the first time someone told him what to do and when he didnt the he got corrected, something i assume by your reaction to the fact you never did, at least not to the point to assert dominance over him, so everything around him was new, stuff he never felt or been subjected to happened and he got scared, you must understand the vet as well, he canno afford to get bitten and while my 2 girls love our current vet i had huge problems with my first vet without him doing really anything wrong, my girl just didnt like him for some reason and would not let him touch her, he had his asistant do it, no problem and i came to the conclusion that the problem there was me and the dog was projecting my feelings, as i was very anxious at the time, i was always scared and so on so the dog projected that. I would not worry too much if i were you tho, it is all fixable, just next time you go to the vet take it at his pace (the dog's not the vets) and try to at least teach the dog some basic obedience like place, stay, wait it will help the process along tremendously trust me. The last thing is, my vet also often sedates my older girl just because she is a bit skittish and if im not there she does not relax, there is not much you can do about that im affraid, they are big dogs and the vets need to take precautions and protect themselves. I did not notice any changes on my girls because of it tho so even if it seems unnecessary to you try to think from the perspective of safety, for your dog and the vet's health and life, since rotties if you get them mad like real mad in a confined space, well lets just say this, in such a situation i woulld not bet my money on the human to come out of that room, 1 bite in the right area and you are goner so the sedation will always happen just because of how big and strong he is, i would not worry about it too much, yeah it sucks to see your pooch all drugged out unable to stand or even pull his tongue back in his mouth but that sucks way way less than if he ends up redirecting on the vet and the consequences of such behavior, thats why i think rottweiler owners should always teach their dog at least the essentials of bite work so the dog loses the tendency to bite out of his own will and will rather wait for you to tell him what to do as there are rewards involved when he is a good boy and listens to you and the corrections he gets if he doesnt listen are waaaaaaaay less tasty, thats why they tend to like to work for their owners, it simply tastes better
It is not to late,#1 There ARE ALOT of great vets,I would have knocked out the vet you went to,CHANGE VET,#2 ROTTIES ARE VERY SMART,THEY MUST TRUST YOU,,,REPETITION WITH THE SAME WORDS,AND REWARD FOR GOOD BEHAVIOR,AND WHAT EVER COMMANDS OR HABBITS THAT STILL NEED WORK,YOU CONTINUE WITH POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT,IF THE DOG IS CHEWING ON SOMETHING THEY SHOULDN'T BE,TAKE IT AWAY,AND GIVE HIM WHAT HE IS ALLOWED TO CHEW ON RATHER THAN JUST DISCIPLINE#3TALK TO THE DOG,LOOK THEM IN THE EYES,SHOW YOU LOVE THEM,THEY UNDERSTAND WAY MORE THAN YOU THINK,STUDIES HAVE BEEN DONE STATING MOVING YOUR EYEBROWS,SMILING,AS WELL AS PLAIN OLE TALKING TO THEM,THEY ALWAYS SHOW INTEREST,AND YOU DEVELOPE A BOND SECOND TO NONE,NEVER YELL AT THE DOG,REGULAR VOICE COMMAND IS WHAT YOU WANT,YOU DONT WANT YOUR DOG TO BE SCARED OF YOU,,,GIVE IT TIME,IT IS NOT UPTO THE DOG TO GET THIS DONE,IT IS UPTO YOU THE OWNER TO GET IT DONE,,,,SO,GET R DONE
Women are often ill suited as Rottweiler owners - they will test your strength and leadership and you have failed on many fronts. The best thing you can do is find someone with experience and rehome the dog. Dogs all my life ...5th Rottweiler.
A rottweiler and a Huskies has moved in next to my semi detached house. A year ago one of my cats made the mistake to go over the fence to their side and was killed. Yesterday another car went over through their front gate which is next to my front gaten. She was luckier she lived is at the vets overnight had to have stiches to a puncture wound on her stomach. Can these dogs be trained not to dislike cats?
Rottweilers are naturally dominant towards other dogs, even with all the sozialicing in the world, they will never back down from a challenge from another dog. This isnt a labrador, stop portraying it like one 🤦♂️ They are amazing and loving dogs with their family and close friends, but a proper Rottweiler is suspicious with strangers and will not necessarily want to be petted by just anyone. They have been used and bred for generations for their working abilities, and for guarding so this is to be expected, and same with same sex aggression, they are a dominant breed of dog. If you cant handle or accept this, or if it doesent suit your needs, then get a different breed.
Completely untrue unless you train the dog to be that way. These dogs are intelligent, have a great code of justice & will look to you for behavioral cues. A 'dominant dog' will never cover for it's owners ingrained insecurities.
@@JohannaKristinEllerup I state only facts, everyone that has ever had a proper Rottweiler from a breeder that still cares about the dogs workingabilities, knows this. The problem is that the Rottweiler has become such a popular breed and the demand for puppies are so high that more and more "regular" people are starting to breed them only for money, not caring about how the dogs lines and workingabilities are but rather focusing on softer temperament so that they can suit "everybody", often putting random dogs together that should never have been bred according to standard...these litters are all over the place, often resulting in very uncharacteristic dogs, sometimes overly aggressive, but also often way too soft and with a lot less drive than they are suppose to have, and these particular dogs, being so plentiful as they have gotten, is becoming the new "trend", and apparently has made many believe that this is how the breed is suppose to be, but neither qualities being good representatives of the breed. But a proper, well bred Rottweiler IS a dominant dog, also with other dogs, its not for everybody, and it IS protective and suspicious of strangers, not willingly wanting everyone outside its own familys attention, wich is required for it if it is to be a good guard dog and protector. This isnt something that has to be trained, its part of a Rottweilers natural behaviour, without these traits, its not a true Rottweiler, even though there is of course exeptions from the rule, as in all breeds.
@@mastinonapoletano2939 Regrettably, you state only that which perpetuates your own beliefs. I had a rescue rottweiler that wasn't aggressive or domineering towards ANY other dog, known or unknown. Not even a little bit. Breed determinations are always limited. They should be used as the loose parameters they were designed to be, not fixed, pre-determined, blanket judgements.
@@JohannaKristinEllerup And sadly, you have entirely missed the point.. Also, did you read the very last sentence I wrote...? Just because your spesific dog does or doesent act a certain way, does not mean that this is the norm for the entire breed as a whole...that would be like saying that just because you know of one or several Border Collies that doesent take interest in herding, is what that breed is as a whole... or to take it a bit further, that just because some people are racist, also means that everyone else from the same culture as them, has to be racist too as a general rule.. Im not discriminating Rottweilers, if that is what you think.. I absolutely love this breed, and I want to advocate and protect what the breed is suppose to be, not support the idea of turning it in to something completely different than what it originally was bred for. Different breeds, different personalities, every dog doesent behave the same as a Lab or a Collie, its a fact you have to accept.

I miss mine so much too, I understand how you feel. Sorry for your loss. It's like losing a child and best friend all in one.
@@Sunshine_girl984Show her whose boss...And that's you..
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks 😊
Right on 👍
I absolutely agree with everything you said, especially being their guardians.
Absolutely amazing 😍
Great family member 👍👍
I'm thinking of getting one for my 11 yr old daughter any other advice
Rottweilers are the best dogs I've ever owned. I wouldn't go another way unless it was a rescue
Love this breed as well!
Consider Rhodesian Ridgeback
I have rotties for years and years and i adore them but when they r gone they leave a huge void in my life and it takes me a long time to heal from that. Oh and all of them loved going to the vet as they love the attention and they know its all about them.
I just resent lost my rottweiler of 13 +years she made a big impact on my life forever. I'm miss her so much 😢😢😢😢
@@keithdann9754 im so sorry i know the feeling all to well and, yes they do take up alot of room in your life and in your house. They are so loving to their family and aggressive to strangers which is what we wanted.
I just had the vet put mine down today. He's been my best buddy for 8 years. Unfortunately he developed a fibrosarcoma on his back paw and he's started chewing his foot off so it's been decided that the best course of action is letting him go with dignity. I will miss him dearly. Best dog breed...
Be proud of yourself for taking care of your Rotti,he was a GREAT BUDDY bc YOU are a great buddy,,take some time for yourself,THEN GO GET ANOTHER ONE,YOU WILL BE HAPPY YOU DID,IT SUCKS THEY DONT HAVE LONGEVITY LIKE OTHER DOGS,,,I ACTUALLY JUST WATCHED A VIDEO THAT STATED THAT ONE DAY TO US IS ONE WEEK FOR DOGS,,,,,BE HAPPY,YOU DID A GREAT JOB,DOGS NEED PEOPLE LIKE YOU GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND
@@mikiejr111 Thank you Sir for these kind words. To me dogs are the best thing that can happen in life.
Very sad to hear that
😢so sorry
Lost mine 2 months ago nov 2024,a beautiful boy of 8yrs
Give them plenty excercise, and they will cool down
do not worry you are not too late to fix it, as long as she is willing to learn you will find it very doable, i have and older lab/rottie of 7years and a younger one which is now 14 months and i learned alot from both but specifically i learned this lesson with the older one very recently, we tought that she was not willing to learn any advanced stuff and so the guy that help me train her at the time , a k9 officer and i decided we are not gonna push her, i wanted her to learn more stuff so we could do more stuff together but she was content with fetch swimming and running, turns out the now old(er) girl has the willingness to learn, she just didnt find it fun at the time, but now that she saw me train the younger one and how much fun she couldve had, now she decided she does want to learn but only in a certain way, the way i do it with the younger one, so do not give up on your rottie, she has loads more in store for you all you need is the will to do it as well as its not fair to her, she would never give up on you and she will give her life to you so its only fair you do the same, i wish you all the luck and success with her

I'd suggest petting other dogs around your Rottie to let him/her know the other dog(s) isn't a threat to you. This could help tremendously.

Love a good Rottie!
So true. I haded two beautiful Rottweilers. They are so helpful and know when there help is needed.
I have 2 rottweilers and 4 staffys and Chihuahua I love dogs so much rottweilers are my favourite breed ❤
Training, training, training!
Best breed of all time. Rottweilers are number one in my books
What video would you recommend then?
My 2 year Rotties favorite place to go is the pet store lol, I can still socialize her and she knows she’s coming out with something ( new ball, or treats, or both. She’s nothing but 80 pounds of pure love bug.
Rottweilers have the best traits...my boys are on the perfect dog list.
My Rottie is happiest when she think she has something she shouldn't and playes keep away.
Beautiful loyal and gentle and highly intelligent breed ❤😊
We’ve got 7 Rottweilers

our chap is 3 1/2 yrs old ,still has his nuts ,has a bit of black Labrador. He’s very sociable & always desperate to greet visitors, is gentle with tortoises & bunnies , patient with our cats & is the smartest & has the biggest or loudest bark of any that’ve shared our lives since 1985
Thankyou for this presentation 😁❤️from near Bournemouth SWEngland
I’m a firm believer a Rotty’s can look brutish, but a really jokester’s 😅 I swear I’ve seen multiple Rottweilers chase people for fun and laugh afterwards… they legit smile BIG 😂
I have a blueheiler Rottweiler mix bestfriend best dog ever😂❤
Only breed I'll ever own can't say enough about them
Thank you just got my pup today
An excellent service dog also.
7 out of 7 ❤❤ 💯 . Great video!! Fully agree and support this. 👏
Best dogs ever.. I just don't want another breed anymore.. ❤

Good point!
Leadership, Nuitrition, Training, Exercise, Socialized and Environment are important as for any dog...
I'm on my third rottie and they are the best dogs. I've had two females and one male. I've found the females to be more layed back and my male was a little more aggressive but all in all they are great dogs won't own any other breed. Unless I find another rescue .
They really are great dogs!

Amazon has a good car seat protector for dogs. Easy to clean. Ask me how I know.
I had that same problem with my Rotti girl and I was told she'd grow out of it. She didn't. I then tried a dramamine 1/2 hour before the care ride....YES!!! It works like a charm!
just got and 8 week old rottie puppy had one as a kid trying to work on the bittingand nipping problems already any advice
Thank you!

How do I get my Rottweiler to rake the yard that would be a job he could be happy about if he finished LOL
well if he is not docked you can always tie the rake to his tail, he will figure out the rest im sure, mine is a rott/lab mix, working rott with show lab, so she short an stocky but has enormous power, i use her to plough the fields, i put a harness on her with the plough and a wurstel in front of her nose and we are off to the races, jokes aside the way they learn really fast im pretty sure one can get a rottie to do just about anything and the dog will do it and have fun doing it, they are so smart and have such great personalities i wonder how is anyone left on earth that says that they are dangerous, i met many of them, a friend of mine had a whole bunch of them through the years and yes the one im talking about is one of his and a product of true love between dogs, i know the whole story of how mine came to be and its a long one with details to put it simply, after long years of trying the labbie managed to finally get into the house of the rottie through a second floor window as they are neighbours, hump her, impregnate her, managed to not get stuck to her and ran away so no one was the wiser all in the matter of 5 minutes untill the neighbour from across the street told them what she saw. they been trying to get together for a few years by then and there was alot of doggo drama howling whining involved everytime she was in heat, like i said true love story :D

Do NOT tight them on chain by dog house! They are body guards, they have to be with you !

Good video but I think it would have been better titled as things you should always do if you have a Rottweiler. Every point you made was a double negative I.e. not,not exercise. Not, not socialise. Just a thought!
That’s AI for you
I really want to get a Rottweiler since my uncle had one and his dog was an absolute sweetheart, but I wanted to know, what’s the best amount of time they need for daily exercise?

Sorry that happened to you. Sho confidence and be calm in public settings and over time he will get use to people and other animals
Okay okay. Got it. Gimme one.
German shepherds, rottweilers and dobermans are the best family working dogs
Amen. Never force them to allow touching by someone they don't trust.
