Please help! I recently moved into a new construction home. I think the Bermuda sod was laid 60-70 days ago dormant. I didn’t know any better and put Scott’s pre emergent out. I know now that was not good. Do you think my lawn will be okay? What would you recommend I do to ensure it lives?
Watch it, you may have to water a bit more when it gets really hot. Since the roots will be slow to establish, you will need to baby it a little. I think you should be ok, just avoid mowing low with a rotary mower and don't put any weed killers.
Why did you choose to put the pre-emergent granules down first, and then later come back weeks later spraying prodiamine? Why not spray the prodiamine first, and put down the granules later?
Great question, I probably should have mentioned that in the video. I used prodiamine in the fall. I did not want to hit that 12-month limit since I used a high dose. I have Dimention, which I plan to use. It has some post emergent properties on early stage crabgrass, so i appy that second when it's a bit warmer.
Are you a fan of the liquid bio advanced pre emergent? I have tried the lesco 007 from lowes and has worked well for me and im using the home depot 007 this march.
Thank God you posted your area so I can gauge timing. As soon as the soil get's to a pretty consistent 50 degrees I 'll do the pre-scalp and pre-emergent, but I have got to put down the post emergent and get this POA under control. When do you put down grub control? Thanks for posting, you got another sub here.
I only treat if I see a problem. I would keep an eye out in the summer. I usually apply bug prevention every 2 to 3 months during the growing season, this could be why I don't have problems with grubs.
@@TheALG I’m one year ahead of you; my turf is on starting its second full season. 2.5 years old. I need to do some leveling. Waiting on your instructional how-to video to start my leveling project!
I did a Fall Pre- Em app and I found one weed on my whole lawn. Will be applying my Spring app in a couple of weeks. Makes a big difference.
Nice video my brother, you always make good videos thanks
I'm new to your channel and learning a lot ❤. What type of mower are you using in this video?
McClane 25 inch. A good entry reel mower but there are better ones out there.
Andersons is usually my go to just because of prill size. I use yardmastery sometimes i just wish they had smaller prills.
Anderson is expensive if you have a larger yard to treat but yes, prill size is one of the benefits
If I had sod laid in December, I would assume I should NOT put down a pre emergent down since the sod is so new, is that correct?
Yes. If it was brown when you laid it, then it has not rooted itself. It needs a full growing season to establish.

I never used liquid version of bioadvance. Only one way to find out
@@TheALG thanks for your response. I appreciate it.

i like the border you put around your pool area bw the rocks and lawn. I bet when green grass comes in that border will make it pop
So true, my intent was to avoid mowing close to the pool but now that I look at it, there is a bit of a curb appeal.
Are you doing lawn leveling this year?
Yes sir

Best time in my area to do sand leveling is around mid May through July
Here we go again 😁
