Few cars these days automatically switch off hazard indicators temporarily when left/right indicators are used and then on normal position hazard indicators start flashing. Not sure which make and models. But, many do this. Thumbs up!
really the best video for indian roads... because 90% people turn on the hazard lights in heavy rains n foggy weather n than change lane which is difficult to understand for the driver behind you that what is ur next move... But there are couple of mistakes.. red light has the longest wavelength and lowest frequency..due to this it bends the least and this is called refraction not dispersion.. but dispersion is a consequence of refraction.. No this isn’t in my VW Vento..when hazard lights are on and you give a turn signal...the hazard light turns off and turn signal become active until it is turned off automatically or manually. I agree with you, i don't know why this trend started, even many people do it in tunnels especially on Mumbai pune expressway, and suddenly change lanes, thinking ki mera hazard light on hai toh bas, piche wale ko samajhna hai, that is very disturbing while driving, you should always on your head lights and not hazard lights...

Great awareness video. People should follow this advice. There was one guy saying that hazard light is more visible while driving in the rain so they keep it on. Yes it is visible but you can't use turn signal !!brother the purpose of Hazzard light , other drivers or any help can see you from far when you are stopped and have hazard lights on. So they know you are having an emergency and you are not moving. simple as that. And request to all drivers that drive with a distance is safe driving.
Information shared by you is correct to some extent. One of the use of Hazard lights is to indicate slower mov of vehicles in the left lane. Cars do have an overriding protocol for turn indicators for the same reason. However good work by you 👍

Your VW car switches off the blinking of the left indicator. The cars behind you on the left side see that there is a change, but not the car behind you on the right side if their view of your left indicators are blocked. They continue thinking you have your hazards on. These are the people who should have known of your lane change intention the most. You will be putting yourself in almost the same situation as not signaling a lane change.
In Volkswagen you have option of giving signal for right or left even if hazard is on. Red colour is used because it has max visibility when lit up that's the reason why rear fog lamp has bright red light. When visibility is low hazard is more useful
Usually in rains head light and tail light is covered of dirty water spray from the other cars hence, I will still say the continous flickering of parking lights is more visible in rains then tail light. But i like your concept
hazard lamp is to be used only when unexpected things happen, like accident or road missing ( happens in India after rains) , tree fell or lightning struck on front vehicle or lightning struck on a tree near you.. yes. you are right turn headlights on, and check before driving also, check if all lights glow..and replace fused or burnt bulbs with new working bulbs whenever poor visibility, rains, dust storm, turn on headlights and drive

Blinkers CAN be on while driving. So others know to keep a distance. Also on highways you don't need indicators. You hardly use indicators to change lanes. Nothing wrong with using them in any driving conditions.

Sujata Naik - if you keep your headlights on, it will make you visible on road in heavy rain, fog conditions. Parking light will only work in dawn like conditions. If you see most of the cars in Europe and UK having LED day time running or some high intensity light arrangements on headlights that make cars visible on road. Also use your rear fog lights if you have in the car, but avoid it in normal weather as it will dazzle the driver behind you.

I think you should hazard light in heavy rains since blinking lights grabs more attention. Said that if a car uses hazard light it's his duty to not change the lane. I would recommend to use hazard light since others can spot you but donot change lanes when it's ON
in normal weather if you put hazard on people will be cautious hazard is for vehicle breakdown emergency stop If you are going slow on a highway due to some technical issue with vehicle So other cars can overtake & go smoothly without honking

Car brands under Volkswagen group has this unique feature that when Ur hazard lights are on and you want to take a turn so when u apply turn indicator it will instantly stop hazard light and starts the indicator .......again when u turn off the Indictator it will directly switch to hazard mode after u turn of the indicator.....there are many reference videos available on TH-cam regarding this features ....,and if you want to do this feature in any other car u can do it (aftermarket)
Very nice observation, yes people do practice this most of the time. I personally switch on rear fog lamps and headlights for ease of other motorists to notice I am there. Unfortunately, indian made vehicles don't give precedence to safety. At 2:25 you rightly mentioned lane change indicators don't work when you switch on hazard lights, but that's true for only japanese or korean or indian manufacturers. I drive a Skoda and it is designed keeping safety on mind, even if hazard lights are on side indicators override them. Today's generation is definitely waking up to safety and I believe indian auto industry should start investing in safety than on making cars lighter for benefit of mileage.
Finally a video on hazard light issue most have the cars have fog lamps plss use that in such casenormally german cars polo,vento have the feature of giving indicators even when hazard light on but i my self have a close call with cars
You dont even have to ON the heads lights to the maximum. First mode of light is enough to switch ON the tail light. Do not use hazard light unless your car broke down. Good video bro..

The hazard lights are the most important accessory to use during low visibility conditions. Like in winter fog conditions of North India. The normal tail lights are not bright enough. But yes, here in current video, visibility is fine despite rain. So hazard light is not needed. However one can switch on tail light without headlight too. One should do that. Headlight will un necessarily make the driver ahead see headlights in rear view mirror and get distracted.
Yes, in fog its a different scenario. I will still suggest to keep headlight on, so in conditions like heavy rain, the driver can alert vehicle ahead of him that he is present behind.

There was one guy saying that hazard light is more visible while driving in the rain so they keep it on. Yes it is visible but you can't use turn signal !!brother the purpose of Hazzard light , other drivers or any help can see you from far when you are stopped and have hazard lights on. So they know you are having an emergency and you are not moving. simple as that.
And request to all drivers that drive with a distance is safe driving.

Information shared by you is correct to some extent. One of the use of Hazard lights is to indicate slower mov of vehicles in the left lane. Cars do have an overriding protocol for turn indicators for the same reason. However good work by you 👍

Let's say you are driving with your hazards on and plan to change to the right lane. You put the right indicator on. Your VW car switches off the blinking of the left indicator. The cars behind you on the left side see that there is a change, but not the car behind you on the right side if their view of your left indicators are blocked. They continue thinking you have your hazards on. These are the people who should have known of your lane change intention the most.
You will be putting yourself in almost the same situation as not signaling a lane change.
In Volkswagen you have option of giving signal for right or left even if hazard is on.
Red colour is used because it has max visibility when lit up that's the reason why rear fog lamp has bright red light.
When visibility is low hazard is more useful

Usually in rains head light and tail light is covered of dirty water spray from the other cars hence, I will still say the continous flickering of parking lights is more visible in rains then tail light.

hazard lamp is to be used only when unexpected things happen, like accident or road missing ( happens in India after rains) , tree fell or lightning struck on front vehicle or lightning struck on a tree near you..

Blinkers CAN be on while driving. So others know to keep a distance. Also on highways you don't need indicators. You hardly use indicators to change lanes. Nothing wrong with using them in any driving conditions.

If you see most of the cars in Europe and UK having LED day time running or some high intensity light arrangements on headlights that make cars visible on road. Also use your rear fog lights if you have in the car, but avoid it in normal weather as it will dazzle the driver behind you.

I think you should hazard light in heavy rains since blinking lights grabs more attention. Said that if a car uses hazard light it's his duty to not change the lane. I would recommend to use hazard light since others can spot you but donot change lanes when it's ON

Car brands under Volkswagen group has this unique feature that when Ur hazard lights are on and you want to take a turn so when u apply turn indicator it will instantly stop hazard light and starts the indicator .......again when u turn off the Indictator it will directly switch to hazard mode after u turn of the indicator.....there are many reference videos available on TH-cam regarding this features ....,and if you want to do this feature in any other car u can do it (aftermarket)
Very nice observation, yes people do practice this most of the time. I personally switch on rear fog lamps and headlights for ease of other motorists to notice I am there.
Unfortunately, indian made vehicles don't give precedence to safety. At 2:25 you rightly mentioned lane change indicators don't work when you switch on hazard lights, but that's true for only japanese or korean or indian manufacturers. I drive a Skoda and it is designed keeping safety on mind, even if hazard lights are on side indicators override them.
Today's generation is definitely waking up to safety and I believe indian auto industry should start investing in safety than on making cars lighter for benefit of mileage.
Finally a video on hazard light issue most have the cars have fog lamps plss use that in such casenormally german cars polo,vento have the feature of giving indicators even when hazard light on but i my self have a close call with cars

You dont even have to ON the heads lights to the maximum. First mode of light is enough to switch ON the tail light. Do not use hazard light unless your car broke down.

The hazard lights are the most important accessory to use during low visibility conditions. Like in winter fog conditions of North India. The normal tail lights are not bright enough. But yes, here in current video, visibility is fine despite rain. So hazard light is not needed.
However one can switch on tail light without headlight too. One should do that. Headlight will un necessarily make the driver ahead see headlights in rear view mirror and get distracted.
Yes, in fog its a different scenario. I will still suggest to keep headlight on, so in conditions like heavy rain, the driver can alert vehicle ahead of him that he is present behind.
