- fell in love with hawaii back in june and found my way back. this is my 2nd solo trip and I stayed a whole week in Oahu! didn't take work off so I was doing that during the day but still go to enjoy the island on my own before my parents met up with me for christmas. literally ate all the poke to my hearts content and enjoyed time away from everything else. if you need a sign to take a solo trip - THIS IS IT!

Travelled here 1975 for job interview. Never left . Girlfriend followed. Moved in together> marriage>kids>house> learned to surf. learned to surf better etc. Oh yes then there work. Have a little family. Retired.Still get into ocean(yesterday)

I recently went through a breakup so I decided to go Oahu solo.. I just came back last Sunday. It was amazing and I will do it again. There are so many things to do. It helped me to recover from the breakup too.

This video made me smile! I had a very similar experience on my trip to Oahu. I was there in June then I went again in October. From the restaurants, my Airbnb was near the hotel you stayed at and the car rental situation. Whenever I see a vlog about Hawaii on my feed I always click. Thanks for bringing back the wonderful memories I had.

I just got back from an almost 3 weeks vacation in Hawaii. One week in Big Island and the rest in Oahu. In Oahu, we got a chance to stay 4 nights at the Aulani. They’re strict with their beach chairs and only Aulani guests with wristbands can sit there esp if it’s full occupancy. We saw them kick out some people who didn’t have wristbands. The poke in Aulani though was really good.

Literally me at the prices 😂 Everything in Waikiki is always going to be more expensive as it is obviously where all the tourists are. Some things are worth it, others not so much. I’m glad you enjoyed your time here! & mahalo nui loa for complying with the state’s mask mandate! 🤙🏻

I cannot express enough how much you should not be travelling to Hawai'i right now. This is embarrassing. Kanaka Maoli have been begging people to stop coming to the islands because you're putting elders at risk. It is literally free to just do what Kanaka's ask and not visit. It costs you absolutely nothing.
Native Hawaiians are the smallest minority, not just in the US, but in the entire world. They make up 0.2% of the entire population. It is estimated that by 2025, in 3 years, the last full-blooded Hawaiians will die off. Traveling to Hawai'i during a global pandemic, only speeds up this process. Mahalo.

Next time definitely try going to Ma Ru Ka Me during the lunch hour. I worked at the mall across the street and that’s the only times of the day they wouldn’t have a crazy line. Try like 12 -3
Also when you done with udon walk across the street to the mall and go up stairs have some magnolia ice cream the Ube flavor most popular but I love the Kona coffee and boku pandan flavors 😊

interesting that you like sushi rice in your poke bowls. I prefer plain white, or even brown. to me, the sushi rice's vinegar competes with the flavor of the fish and the sauces created for the fish. in traditional nigiri sushi, the fish is plain and needs the vinegar, wasabi and soy sauce. but hey - I also like sautéed bitter melon in my omelets....

excited to watch your next video on you eating saimin and your thoughts on this local favorite. Back in June, you replied to me that you would definitely make it on your list. Jenny's Shrimp Truck ... think was another name before but recently changed name... as a homage to the Bubba Gump movie. See you went to Kim's Korean BBQ (all the outlets known as Yummy's Korean BBQ) --- local owner Peter Kim (played football as the kicker as he was a good soccer player at Kaiser High nearby the shopping center you went to , then went on to play at Alabama for Coach Bear Bryant). Returned to Hawaii as his try to the NFL wasn't successful ... opened up several eateries and bought Liliha Bakery and invigorated it with new pastries and opened up new outlets including the newest one in Waikiki at the International Market Place that opened in December.

Not really! I did more excursions my last trip so I kind of just wanted to chill this time. But def recommend ziplining in Hawaii or doing any hikes (: People also like the boat experiences there. Favorite restaurant is probably marugame udon, helenas (didn't go in this video), eggs & things and jenny's shrimp or hono's shrimp

I was in Oahu during the same time you were. I stayed at Sheraton Waikiki. I've never tried the Hawaiian cane juice but next door to that is Island Vintage Shave Ice. That place is bomb. Best shave ice I've ever had on the island. 🌴⛰️
